Hi,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Display Devices - make a note of the hardware listed here i.e. ATI, NVidia or Intel.
Next, connect your notebook via HDMI to your Tv. Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click once ( just to highlight the entry ) the HDMI Output that has the same name as your display adapter and then click the Set Default button - see if you now have audio.

Pavilion dv4 3138tx drivers after reinstallation of plain windows 7 home premium

My Pavilion DV4 3138tx notebook recovery disk was crashed, and HP did not give recovery disk when it was purchased. I have to download the windows 7 home premium edition from "mydigitallife.info" website to download the legalized windows 7 reinstallation image. After installation, OS is working, but many drivers seem not working, e.g. ethernet network controller. I tried to download the driver from official HP website for model 3138tx, which is realtek LAN network driver, but after installation, it says "xxx files not found", any way, it is not working, and HP support told me they can not help me, asked me to go for realtek..... I looked up the network controller hardware ID, it is PCI/VEN10EC DEV8168SUBSYS..@$%&^*(&^ , I looked up in google, it is realtek chip for 10/100/1000 gigabit LAN network card. Very strange, anyone can help me?
As per HP advice, I also tried to reinstall chipset driver, which is listed on official HP website for drivers of 3138tx model, it doesn't help either. My laptop was purchased in Malaysia with origial windows 7 home premium edition in English, with product key at bottom of the machine.

Would like capability of using IPAD as a "dumb terminal" occasionally to connect to PC to do scut work while otherwise engaged. Possible? Not interested in films and music so much as being able to enter home booking system etc.

iOS has no file system directly accessible to users and cannot really be used as a 'bridge' to control or operate your machine's operating system (whether OSX or Windows).
When you say, "enter home booking system," there are plenty of iOS applications which would be suitable for creating home inventory system and spreadsheets. Applications such as dropbox can be used to transfer files between the device and your machine.
Additionally, barcode scanning apps exist where you can, for example, bulk scan ISBN's, transfer the csv file, and subsequently input them into a spreadsheet on your machine.

Problem with built in camerar - HP Pavilion dv6000 - windows 7 home premium

hello
i own a hp pavilion dv600 laptop with windows 7 home premium sp 1 installed
yesterday during an skype conversation all of a sudden i lost the camera.
at the start of the skype call i saw and heard the other party and they saw and heard me perfectly.
then without doing anything all of a sudden my camera went dead.
i checked in device manager and cant see the built in webcam anywhere and neither can skype under the options menu see the camera.
i restarted the PC and shut it down completely to no avail.
any suggestions on how to get the camera back?

Try this alternative method as follows.
Unless you still have the installer, download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page - and save the installer to your Downloads folder.

Next, if you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip. Please note, if you have a 64bit installation, download and install the .msi 64-bit x64 installer on the link below.

Next, right click the HPSA installer you download earlier, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Open the newly extracted folder, right click on UninstallHPSA and select 'Run as Administrator' - you may well see no progress of this attempted uninstallation, so leave the notebook to idle for a good 10 minutes before restarting it.
Open your Downloads folder and delete the ‘extracted HPSA folder’ so you are just left with the original installer you downloaded.
Now, run the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link below and use it to install the new version of HPSA.

HP Advisor stops working on my Pavilion p6330f with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit system

My computer is a Pavilion p6330f with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit system. It bothers me when I get error messages and can't seem to correct the problem. After loging onto my computer a message comes on that the HP Advisor stopped working. When I attempt to load the HP Advisor it gives me the same message and does not come up.

HP Advisor-one of the first things I uninstall, flaky software.
Have you tried the update for Advisor from your support & drivers page?

I have been having trouble installing Windows 7 Home Premium on my 2008 iMac while using BootCamp. It has OS X Mavericks 10.9.1. Hi I have a HP Pavillion DV6-1355 dx windows 7 Home premium 64 bit and I have some major issues ,first when I bought this computer I turned it on it automatically connected and downloaded a whole bunch of stuff I am not even sure what all ,my P/N #VM222UA#ABA , S/N [Personal Information Removed] I dont even know what should and shouldnt be on here anymore . It has a sticker in keyboard area at bottom right corner and a windows 7 sticker says Intel Duo core and yet I get troubleshooters refering to Vista ,AMD ,and several other computers .In my device manager it has a bunch of stuff with little yellow gears .I feel it has down loaded my old computers which I dont have but 1 and my current ones which are all windows 7 64 bit . I was gong to scare my husband by starting his prinnter from mine wasnt even sure what I was doing but I do remeber it saying that I would have to be in control over the pcs I cant remember exactly and I also wanted to make sure updates were done because my husband never did them so I thought great they will get regular updates. At that time we had 3 windows xps 1 professional 64 bit,1 hp media center 2005 64 bit and a windows xp home edition 32 bit .I didnt know much about pcs then I sought help but never got it resolved we had a differnt router and i beleave sbc global at time when I did it that computer ended up dieing so I no longer have it but yet I see its hardware listed and I see the AMD listed and SIS and Matrix with dates going back to 2003 and this computer is a 2009 . What I need to know is how to get all the stuff off here that dont belong and the true specs for this notebook we have att now and a cisco E1000 router and I know some how that the stuff from the other computers are on here .Even when I go to the HP support page it will refer to older editions of windows troubleshooters it says under collection information that computer name is LAPTOP which i put down for the other windows 7 with a amd so I could identify the different windows 7 home premiums and I listed this dv6 as laptop .Windows version says 6.1 architecture says amd64. under publisher details it says package version 1.0 publisher Microsoft Windows,network adapter 1.0 Microsoft corporation. Hi, I've an iPad Mini with the latest version 6.0.2, a windows 7 Home Premium laptop and iTunes 11.0.1 (12), but I can't synchronize my music or videos with it. I managed to syncronize my books but thats all.
I also have an iphone 5 and everything seems to work fine with it.
I see all movies and music available to be sync but when I click on the sync button, the process starts, the bottom bar shows an increase in consumed space then nothing happens and the bar goes back as nothing was added.

I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer. I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:

I did not leave anything out from the error message. It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..." Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue? I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

TS1538 I have an iPod Touch IOS 4.2.1 that Windows 7 home premium can't see. Says there's a driver problem. My other one with IOS 5.1.1 works on the same cable and computer. I don't know where to go.

I have an iPod Touch with 4.2.1 that won't connect to my Windows 7 Home Premium laptop. It gives a "USB Device Not Recognized" error when I plug it in to a USB port. My wife's (newer) iPod Touch with IOS 5.1.1 works just fine with no errors. I'm using the same port - I just moved the cable from one iPod to the other. I've tried the various different drivers using Update Drivers. I let it search the internet and it says "The best driver software is already installed", but the device shows as "Unknown Device". I did the browse my computer, unchecked the "Show compatible hardware", and selected Apple, Inc.. There were two Apple iPod USB Drivers. One was 6.0.9999.53 and the other was 6.0.9999.61. Neither of these works. I'm thinking that the maybe I need to upgrade the iPod touch software version - but I don't know how to get to it. Can this be loaded over WiFi? Any other ideas?

Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

It probably has to do with your security and/or browser configuration.
When my laptop crashed last year and I had to get a new one, I dealt with the same thing. First, go to your control panel and select the security section. See if your firewalls are up or not. If they are, turn them off. If you have any software to speed up your browser, that can affect the connection as well. Go into that software and disble/turn it off. If this doesn't work, contact customer support. They have a few other tricks they had me try that worked, but I can't remember them now.

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country. Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.
