I have a HP pavilion G6 1247SA running windows7 64 bt.I have noticed that NO dvd burner is installed

HP pavilion G6 1247SA os windows7 64bt.When i went to dvd maker,to my horror i found that NO dvd burner is installed on this product.CRAZY.I have tried cyberlink burner software, but the quality is not that great.Whats more, you can't add photos to your dvd project. At the moment i am making my movies, then putting them on a ur drive and dropping them into an old acer notebook i have. The old acer has a good dvd burner installed. How on earth can HP bring out a product without a dvd burner?.Any ideas folks on a decent solution to this problem.

Hi:
If you can't get the recovery disks to work (I can't help you there), and you can still read all 25 characters of your Vista product key on the bottom of your PC, you can make your own Vista installation disk and use the product key to activate it.
Here's how:
If you're up to a slight but rewarding challenge you can make your own if you can read your 25 character Vista product key on the PC.
Just download the 3 files you need at the link below, and read all of the instructions to create a bootable DVD installation disk using imageburn.
Disregard the part of the text under the first screen shot about "extract the files to the Vista folder."
The files were already extracted to that folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screen shot.
The other thing I noticed is on the 4th screen shot, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in myself, and then the other codes automatically populated.
When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message that about a WIM file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.
I selected No, make the ISO file.
It was not that hard to do. I burned both the 64 bit disk and the 32 bit disk in case I ever need them.
I tested both of them on my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, they worked perfectly.
When you enter the product key, it knows what version of Vista you have.

After you successfully install Vista, you can then install the drivers from your PC's support and driver page.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1444 running Windows Vista 64 bit. I have lost all sound. There's a red x next to the speakeer icon on the bottom right of the screen. I have reloaded drivers, checked Device Manager, tested sounds, HP Support Assistant says I have the latest BIOS installed. I tried a one prong earphone in the two prong headset and got no sound. The mute button and the volume slider don't work either.
Please help me if you can.

Go to the link below.Enter your Product Number as listed on Service Tag attached to bottom of notebook (may be under battery). You can also get the Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key. After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers. On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & Save the latest Audio driver.

Yesterday I opened up the iMac and reinstalled the drive to make sure that it was not an alignment problem.   I still can not eject.   When I try to eject the drive makes noises like it is ejecting but the disk does not come out.
How do I solve this problem?

You have also tried resetting the PRAM as I suggestion in your other thread...?
See resetting the PRAM > About NVRAM and PRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Restore your library from your most recent backup (you do keep regular backups, I hope).  If the hard drive is in any way salvageable it may be possible to mount it in an external enclosure, connect it to your PC, and retrieve data from it even if it is not functioning as a primary OS drive (if you don't have the kit necessary to do this, your local PC repair shop may be able to help).  Failing that, you can always recreate your library by re-importing your CDs.

Check if your system is free of Malware.
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to CNET's download.com to download a free version of Malwarebyte. Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer. Click the Start button , click the arrow next to the Shut Down button , and then click Restart.
    Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. For more information about options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).
Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

  • I have a HP Pavilion a6603w. I want to upgrade power supply to run powerful graphic card. Suggest

I have a HP pavilion a6603w desktop model number FK555AA-ABA a6603w.  I have a low to mid level graphics card, which is the most that my power supply will handle.
I want to get a stronger power supply to run a high end graphics card with a self cooling fan.  Can anyone suggest an excellent, reliable power supply brand and model that will fit into my desktop case with minimum fuss?  I am not tech savy but I have replaced my video card and hard drives with no problem.
    Thanks,

Hello lugnut1204, I checked the specifications for your system and is appears the system shipped with a 250 power supply. The dimensions for this power supply are 5 15/16 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 3 3/8 inches tall. Since your system is a MicroATX version, you would be slightly limited to a power supply of the same size as the original power supply.
Here  is a link to Newegg where a Corsair 600 watt power supply can be found with almost the exact same physical size as you original 250 watt version. The Corsair power supply dimensions are 5.9 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 3.4 inches tall.
If you get a power supply too long, it may interfer with the back of the CD\DVD drives.
You would need to locate a video card that you wanted and make sure the power supply requirements were less than the 600 watt Corsair model. Most of the mid to higher end cards require at leaset a 400 to 500 watt or greater power supply.

  • Error: no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed. I have a hp pavilion 23

I got this computer December 2013. It has hardly been used and has displayed this in the past. Now it displays this and won't do anything. It makes a clicking type sound. I got it for Christmas and don't think there was a disk that came with it. I have a HP Pavilion 23

    Laurie, welcome to the forum.
The error message that you are receiving means that the hard drive has failed.  You should try running the SMART test from the BIOS to make certain.  If it has failed, it should be covered under the warranty, since it is less than a year old.

  • I have a HP Pavilion PC (tx2520ea) display issues

    Hello
    I have a HP Pavilion PC (tx2520ea).
It was originally running Vista but now running W7 (and works fine for years after doing that).  No other changes have been made to the system.
It starts up fine and for a moment or two the screen shows the usual boot up options.  However after that the screen dies (although I can still hear the fan, suggesting that the PC is running).  I cannot get it to to anything else at this point.
I have tried booting and pressing F11 to restore (and also ESC to enter bios and F8).  It tells me that it is starting and then the screen goes blank again.  I have also tried booting which pressing WINDOWS and "b" to attempt to force a bios restore.
The thing is, I dont think that the screen itself is broken.  If I shut the screen and then reopen it again the screen lights up correctly as I would expect, then it dies on me again.  This is totally consistent and repeatable.
My thoughts are either there is a loose connection somewhere (this model has a swivel screen) or there is some corruption somewhere perhaps with the computer confused as to when the laptop itself is open or shut!!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.  The pc is several years old so I dont really want to go for an expensive repair.  However it seems OK apart from this one issue so I would like to fix this if possible.  I dont care if I need to restore it totally however (all my data is safely backed up).
    Cheers Paolo

reinstal OS ,,,  do a format during instaltion of windows,,  hope that will mk everything fine
