I have a iphone 4S, Macbook Pro(Quad Core) 2HP pc's, can my AIRPORT EXTREME STATION work w/o a problem w/both my pc's?
Can anybody help and answer my questions please?!?!?! i am ready to set up my Airport Extreme Base station, and i have a feeling that my iphone 4S, and Macbook pro will not have a problem connecting WiFi to my base station, but in my other Two rooms i have two HP pc's. One for each room, and i have a feeling it's not going to be easy to connect wifi to my extreme base station as easy as my Apple products. B4 i set up base station, is there something i need to know to connect my HP's w/o a problem?
I would recommend that you start by having your 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) broadcast a clean" Wi-Fi network. By clean I mean do not enable wireless security, MAC address filtering, or use a hidden Network Name (SSID).
Once you verified that all of your wireless clients have no issues connecting, then proceed to enable wireless security. I would strongly recommend using WPA2 Personal as your Wireless Security type choice.

I have an iphone 3G & MacBook Pro. Recently my iCal won't synch from phone to macbook but it will synch the other way round. Any ideas?
Hi, have you been able to solve the problem? I'm struggling with the same thing. What is even more strange: When I sync from iPhone to MacBook it doesn't show the entry in iCal. When I then sync the MacBook (without having changed or entered anything on the MacBook) to the iPad the original event from the iPhone is transferred to the calendar on the iPad. It seems as if the MacBook transports the iPhone calender entry to the iPad but it doesn't show it on the MacBook at all. I've checked all the settings in iTunes, they seem to be alright, so I'm confused. It worked perfectely in the past.

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro, I am trying to run MW3 but it will not work without crashing a few minuets into the game. The general specs on my computer are a dual processor 2.53 ghz. 4 gb ram and a NVIDIA geforce 9400 (9600 is the alternate card).
Things to note:
I have been unable to update firmware on this computer for about a year now. Im not sure why.
I am running a bootleg copy of Windows XP on this computer, I would not like to spend $149 to get Windows 7 if possible.

Then, when you get an estimate about how much it would cost to get the machine completely repaired, ask about the Apple flat-rate repair pricing?
It's worth a shot - and with what you may save, you can put in the bank for a new MBP.

The iPhoto application should be installed in the "Applications" folder and thus available for all users on your MacBook Pro.
When you launch iPhoto from a different account hold down the ⌥-key, to be prompted where you want to create a new iPhoto library for that account. By default an iPhoto Library would be created in the "Pictures" folder of that user account.

IPhone: My IPhone 3GS is with iOS 5.1.1. . I have activated ICloud for Notes (And location of my IPhone only). My Notes are subsequently classified in two groups "ICloud" and "My IPhone".
Macbook pro: I do not succeed to activate ICloud for Notes on my macbook pro with OS 10.8.. WHen I tip on Notes for its activation with ICloud have a message that everytimes tells me - after several seconds - to try later !
I generally synchronize both via ITunes (wifi). There is no longuer any option to synchronize Notes.
Subsequently I can no longuer synchronize my Notes. Could you help me ? Is there any other way than by using ICloud (which I am not so much a fun) ?

Can Tiger (OSX 10.4) run on a Macbook Pro quad core i7
I have a Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz quad core i7. I would like to have three partitions one for OSX 10.6, one for OXS 10.4 to run some older software and one for Windows 7. I have these 3 partitions setup and OSX 10.6 and Windows 7 installed and working properly. I now would like to install OSX 10.4 to the 3rd partition but can not boot to the installation disk. I tried holding down the C key, I tried a different copy of the disk which will boot my older mac so the disk is OK. Can this be done or is OSX 10.4 to old to run on the i7. Is there another way I can install other then from the CD.

In practice it really matters if there were Hardware changes since that model/line came with 10.4, the earliest MBP i7 I see, came with 10.6.3, so I doubt 10.4 or 10.5 will run on it.
Is there another way I can install other then from the CD.
If you want to try it, you'd need an older Mac that could boot from that Install Disc & your new MBP in Target mode. -
Drastic slowdown on Macbook Pro quad core after the mighty Yosemite upgrade.
Is anyone @ Apple recognizing this issue after the Yosemite upgrade.. my laptop went from blazing fast webpage and software use to a slow turtle.. my pentium celeron is running faster than my current Apple laptop.. There should be a warning saying your PC will turn back 20 years by choosing this upgrade . everything is slow.. it take close to 30 seconds or more to boot up.. come on now I have a SSD.. did not have a problem with Maverick.. Youtube will buffer with 16gb memory.. the wife cuts of random.. all these issues after Yosemite.. what the deal Apple is there a fix or I need to go buy Maverick from the Apple store and re-install? I done have a back up.. I'll re-install and loose my data , no big deal.. but I refuse to run Yosemite with the power less than celeron laptop..

I have a 21" Samsung monitor that needs a 1680x1050 resolution connected to a 13" MacBook Pro os 10.8.2. My display preferences do not offer this resolution. Is there an app. that will give me this resolution or other way to solve this problem. Thanks, JHM

I'm trying to install my HP Color LaserJet 2600n (USB) to my new macbook pro with Yosemite ? It detects the printer but when I try to install it, I get the message error : "Can't download the software because of a network problem."
I tried to install the software via the HP website. It's not working.

Contacts are not syncing on my MacBookPro, iPhone4 & my iPad.
On iOS devices, go to Settings>icloud, be sure each is connected to the proper icloud account and that the Contacts on/off switch is turned ON. Check a similar things on the mac (system preferences).
Also, contacts are listed as being either in the "iCloud" group or the "On My Mac" (or iPad, iPhone). Anything in the "On My Mac" (or whatever device it is) does not sync via icloud, only contacts in "iCloud" sync. -
I'm trying to get an overhead projector to identify my macbookpro. If I go to Prefs and select screens that dialogue box comes up on screen. So I know there's nothing wrong with the VGA cable. But when the screen box is collapsed nothing happens. My computer is not recognized by the projector. Can anyone help?
On a PC I used to hit "control F5. But I don't believe that works on a MacBook. Any suggestions?About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time. -

You have a choice as to whether or not applications in Lion like Word or Preview (or even Safari) save and re-open previous documents or windows... just hold down the option key while quitting a program and when you re-open it you won't get the previous documents or windows when you re-open the application. You can see this by selecting the open program in the menu bar and when holding down the option key the quit function will change to quit and discard open windows. This feature in Lion is referred to as "Resume" and is great if you want to restart an app and return to what you're doing (for example in Safari re-opening existing windows and tabs from your previous session). You still have the option to close individual windows within an app before quitting and they will not re-open when the app is launched again.
This Resume function is not related to saving your work (a word or text document for example). This is handled by Lion's "Auto-Save" and "Versions" functions. See http://www.apple.com/ca/macosx/whats-new/auto-save.html
