  • HT4972 I recently upgraded to ios5 on my iPad,  I have lost all sound but YouTube and that still work

After upgrading to ios5. I have lost all sounds,  y?

Have you got notifications muted ? Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1444 running Vista 64 bit. I have lost all sound.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1444 running Windows Vista 64 bit. I have lost all sound. There's a red x next to the speakeer icon on the bottom right of the screen. I have reloaded drivers, checked Device Manager, tested sounds, HP Support Assistant says I have the latest BIOS installed. I tried a one prong earphone in the two prong headset and got no sound. The mute button and the volume slider don't work either.
Please help me if you can.

Go to the link below.Enter your Product Number as listed on Service Tag attached to bottom of notebook (may be under battery). You can also get the Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key. After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers. On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & Save the latest Audio driver.

i have lost all sound from my ipod classic, is there a quick fix, or is it totally had it????

Reset the iPod - Press Menu and Center button for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes On then release the buttons.
See step 2 of this Apple support document.

  • It seems like I have lost all sounds.

My phone won't ring nor does the keypad chime when I call out.  It seems like I have lost all sound unless I go in and change the ring tone.  Any ideas?

    Turn off the mute switch.
Just above the volume controls.  If you see a red dot, it's on mute.

  • After update in ipad3 to iOS 7.1.1 I have lost all sound and the usual hard reboot, checking settings, etc have not worked. Help!

How can I get my sound back on my ipad3? It has continually lost sound, but before I could do a hard reboot, reset settings, etc and get it back. After updating to iOS 7.1.1 the sound is totally gone and nothing restores it. Anything else I can try?

    Hi Mimipat72,
There may be a couple of things that are affecting the sound on your iPad. It sounds like you have already tried restarting and resetting which are good general troubleshooting steps. I suggest first checking in Settings > Sounds and making sure all sounds are turned on. The following article describes these steps.
iOS: Understanding sounds, ringtones, and alerts

If the sound settings are correct and you still have no sound, the next thing I would check would be the side switch. The side switch can either be set to lock the rotation of the iPad or mute the sounds. If the side switch is set to Mute, make sure it is toggled to allow sound. If the side switch is set to Lock Rotation, you will need to open the iPad Control Center to make sure sounds are not muted. The following article explains these functions.

    Thanks for reaching out,

  • Apple support just did an iOS diagnostic quick test on my ipad3 .I have lost all sound except through my head phones since downloading IOS7 today.  now what? Do I just make a big sign on my truck saying beware ISO7 killed my ipad?

apple diagnostic quick test on my ipad..a waste of my time?now what will they do for me.I lost my sound on my ipad3 except with earphones after loading IOS7 today. Was this apple support just some sick joke?

    You are kind van.22
Yes I started simple.butons and settings all function.jack is clear...I know because the head phone signal comes on when it should . restart and reboot many times and did a reset all settings.Went to my buddies in the IPF and they are scratching their heads. went to apple support and they did a quick test IOS diagnostic .And that's how I  got to here at this sight.
what I didn't mention was that after loading IOS7 my ipad on the glass by the power supply it was warm to the touch.
all those hours reading and fiddling can make you loopy.
I'm off to an apple store.Have to catch a ferry.
oh by the way rebooting and restarting is good for your ipad it helps it organize itself.designed to do that.
    Thanks again vancouver 22

  • My games have lost all sounds.

I suddenly have no sounds in any game on my iPad.  Sound works normally in non- game apps.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
• I have lost all sound on macbook pro 10.6 and in ITunes can no longer play any cinema or tv shows purchased.  I believe it may have been caused by recent use of mini-display port   Toslink Audio to the TV.  What can be done?

I no longer have any sound on my macbookpro 10.6.8, not even beginning chime.
Furthermore, I find that I no longer have any images as well as no sound, from any
of my Itunes cinema, tv show purchases, etc.
I recently watched last week a couple of tv episodes through my TV
using a Mini Display Port + Toslink Audio purchased at Apple.
I use this device occasionally and haven't had any  problems til now.
Any suggestions to right the problem?.

In System Preferences>Sound do you have your internal speakers set as the output source?
You may have toggled on optical output with the Toslink cable - check to see if there's a red light coming from the port. If so, quickly plug and unplug a set of headphones for a number of times to see if you can toggle the switch back from optical to the internal speakers.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
