I have a Ipod 4th generation with 8GB and it wont turn on
I was in the middle of sending a video to my friend and went out of the messages when it suddenly turned off. Ive tried holding down the home button, the button on top, and even the two together. I even plugged it in to charge and nothing is happening. Help!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I broke my ipod 5 generation ipod and had some pretty important notes on there and it will not start again. I also have an ipod 4th generation and I was wondering if you could use icloud or something to restore my notes on to this ipod. Any ideas?
If you had been syncing notes on your iPod with iCloud before this happened, go to icloud.com and confirm that your notes are still there. If they are, you could either email them to yourself one at a time from icloud.com or you could sign into your icloud account on your other iPad in Settings>iCloud and turn Notes to On to sync them to your other iPod.

Hi, I have a question about iCloud. I have an ipod 4th generation and im getting a 5th generation. i have lots of games such as subway surfers and temple run 2. I worked and played really hard on earning stuff and have also made in app purchases. Does iCloud save that kind of stuff?
See:

However, not all in-app purchases will transfer to another device. For which ones ill not see:

update my ipod touch 4th generation from there and not from my computer?
Connecting to a new computer or iTunes will always erase the device first. Back up manually before, by right clicking on the iPod in the device list and choosing "backup". A manual backup does not include the sync process. You can use this backup to restore from after your iPod got wiped during the first sync.
See also iTunes: About iOS backups to see more info about the content of a backup, and How to back up your data and set up as a new device if you want to know more about saving info from the iPod before setting it up in iTunes. -
when i try to retrieve the songs into my library it says that my computer is connected with another apple id and that i have to wait 90 days. Do I have to wait to be able to retrieve my songs that I purchased? Do I have to wait all the time when I purchase songs from itunes? Its driving me crazy that I bought these songs and are not able to listen to them on my other apple products. Such as my ipod nano 4th generation, and my iphone 4. Your help is appreciated, thank you.
Hey renie1515,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.
Have a nice day,

HT4623 is there an update for the ipod 4th generation with ios7
Is there an update for ipod touch 4th generation w/ ios7?
As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod. Not enough RAM
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB -

HT1353 I have a IPOD 5th generation with more than 1000 titles of music
I bought it in 2007. I then lost it and lost my itune access too. In 2012 I started a new i tunes account and downloaded around 20 titles of music. After that I received my IPOD back. Now I do not know how synchronize my IPOD in a way that my laptop that my itunes center is receiving the titles of my IPOD and that I do not risk to delete any titles by synchrizing. When I tried to synchronize I am asked if I want to delete titles from my IPOD. So I do not know what to do....I want simply to copy all 1000 titles from my IPOD to my Itunes center and not the other way round. Thank you.
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer song files from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your current iTunes library. Then, with your new and old songs consolidated, you can sync your iPod to that library.
NOTE: If your old songs were purchased from the iTunes Store, you can re-download them at no cost. You need to sign in to the iTunes Store using the Apple ID used to make the purchases. From the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. On the Purchased screen, you can find previous purchases and download them into your current iTunes library. -
