I have a jpg file that I must use as a background in a Dreamweaver project. There is some text embedded in it that I can't edit. I have tried using Illustrator and Photoshop but I lack experience so I'm probably missing something. I'd be glad of some help as this is all that is preventing me from marking it as complete. Use Photoshop and the Stamp tool (S) to get rid of the lettering.
Do little areas at a time, constantly changing the sampling point if you want a half decent job.
Also, don’t use a .jpg format for files with lettering.
If you must have lettering use .psd, .tif, .png or some other non-lossy format.

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

Advice on .jpg files that will not import

I have .jpg files that are not importing into LR even though they open fine on my Mac. Is there anyway I can find out why LR will not import them? Any advice for dealing with images like this?

Usually it's due to Lr perceiving some file wonkiness that your Mac is less picky about (Lr prefers to keep details of such to itself...). ExifTool could probably fix it, without re-creating image data, if you knew how, but it might be simplest to just re-save the file using any software that will work, maybe save in tiff format, to prevent quality loss due to re-jpeg'ing a jpeg, and maybe metadata will be re-written in a format more palatable for Lightroom.

So as long as Drawer.paint() does not start a separate thread (which is not the case here), it NO problem :)
However, you CAN cache the Graphics object, but then you should have some logics like this

I am having a problem with the FireFox browser. I have attached two files that best describe the problem. I have labeled them A & B. A is the way it should look and B is what happens after I have I opened several tabs. I can get it back to normal if I click on VIEW than click on customize. When the customize window appears FireFox returns to its normal state. I than click on the done box and go back to what I have been doing. I tried resetting FireFox back to default settings, but that did not correct the problem.
This began happening about a month ago. Is there a way I can fix this problem? Thanks for your help.I don't know how to attach my 2 attachments that shows the problem I am having.

I have a Pages file that I created on my iPad that I used iCloud to store. There are no backups anywhere of this file. The file is stuck on updating on iCloud and on the iPad the file is inaccessible. There is a black bar over it which greys the file out.

I had to restore it, the file was lost on the iPad, and when I went back to iCloud to retrieve the file it said it was Updating. The file is showing on my iPad, but it is greyed out with a black bar across the bottom of it. I have been working on this file for months, and I am not about to lose it! Please can someone tell me how I can get my file to download at least to my iMac.
This file has worked perfectly in the past, and what I didn't realise when the iPad was locked down was that the Airplane Mode was on, to save battery. If that had been on it would have synced it again.
Can anyone help me? I'm supposed to be sending this file (completed) off to a company in three days.

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.

This is not the problem. We are using quicktime on the pc's and the mac. I also tried to open the file on the pc with other programs and it doesn't recognize the file. Text pages? from what you say you are getting the auto flow function to add pages either because you have flowing text or because you have a lot of blank lines as you would if you tap return to move blank space around.
