I have a library of nearly 2000 songs and all of which were purchased/downloaded in their entirety. It seems that after one of the iTunes updates… many (not all, but plenty) of those songs were “cut off” after playing about 2/3 through them… I haven’t gone through the entire library to see which are complete and which were cut off, but hoped this is “known problem” and hopefully with a known “fix”… Make sense?

So what? The second-hand shop you bought it from didn't follow the right procedures. You also didn't follow the right procedures to make sure that iPhone was not in Activation Lock. It's like buying a car for cash but not getting the title signed over to you. It's not your car if you don' have the title. And that's not legally your iPhone if the previous owner's Apple ID is still registered to the device for Find My iPhone/Activation Lock.
Only a proof of purchase from the ORIGINAL retail store would do any good at all. Return the device to where you bought it and demand your money back. If they refuse, either get a lawyer and/or turn in the device to local police. If you're in possession of stolen property, then the cops won't care about where you got it from.

Can't find songs in their folders after one of the latest updates.

After either the latest or 2nd to last update, I couldn't find any of my songs that were in their original folders. (I had this problem for a while now, but never got around to looking for help on this forum.) What I mean by "original folders" is: after opening "Libraries > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media, I opened the folder of each artist and each album but could never find any songs. Anyone have this happen to them?

Itunes is using your songs from the storage device - the library contains pointers to the tracks there.
You need to check in your iTunes Music folder on your c: drive, are you music files there?
If they are, close iTunes then drag iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml to your desktop.
Open iTunes and an empty libary is created. Now use File>>Add folder to library to add your iTunes Music folder to iTunes.
If The files were not copied - i.e. they are not in your iTunes Music folder.
Go to Edit>>Preferences>>Advanced>>General and check "Copy to iTunes Music Library when adding to Library".
Now Close iTunes and do the same dragging thing with the library files.
Open iTunes and use File>>Add folder to Library to add the music folder on the external storage device. This should copy the files for you.

If you have a 2G iPod. that can only go to 4.2.1. The 1G iPod can only go to 3.1.3. I supose that you have one of those and by support, I think Apple meant that they will issue no more updates for those models. The iPod will continue to work with iTunes.

Duplex printing stoped working after one of the recent updates.

For some reason my HP Laserjet P3015 stoped printing duplex. Some dialogs show the "beidseitig drucken" option and I can check this and get duplexing. But I configured duplexing in the HP printer settings and it is ignored. I had system settings from earlier times with the option enabled but they seem to not work any longer. So how do I set up a printer to print duplex from all applications?

It is possible to set duplex as the default setting via CUPS - the core printing system used in OS X. Using a web browser you open an internal web page, select the printer you want to modify, make your changes and then save this as the default. Then when you print, this setting will stop you from having to access the driver menus.
But there is a caveat to this setitng being used and that is based on the application being used. If the application uses or involves the default print dialog in the print job submission, then you will get a duplex print job. But there are applications that bypass the default print dialog and will therefore submit the print job without the settings you have set. The Print icon in Word for Mac 2011, part of the MS Office 2011 suite, is an example of the print dialog and thus the default settings being ignored. But if you select File > Print in Word, this will invoke the print dialog and your defaults will be honoured.
To access CUPS, open Safari and type

Note that for OS X 10.8, the CUPS page is blocked by default. To enable it, open Terminal and type "sudo cupsctl WebInterface=yes" (without the quotation marks). Enter the admin password when prompted and then refresh the browser view.
With the CUPS web page open, select the printer you want to modify. Then from the Administration drop menu, change to "Set Default Options".
This will show a new page with some menu headings (links). You may have to check each one but one of them will have the duplex (or two sided) setting. With the option selected you then need to scroll down the list to the bottom of the page where you will see the ‘Set Default Options’ button. Click this and you will then be presented with an authentication window. Enter the account name and password that has been set as the admin for this Mac. And then press the Log In button. You will then see another page stating that the information change is completed.
You can now check that the change has been successful by selecting to print this page from Safari. With the correct printer selected, change to the relevant menu to ensure you modification has worked.

Some bug seems to have found my firefox. Tabs open and unwanted software tried to load pages. Probably adware. Virgin Mobile was one of the pages.

When I leave my computer for a few minutes - some page tried to be loaded on firefox. Firefox stops it, but there I am left with a warning, a blank white screen from the attempted load of whatever malware it is. It's really frustrating because I am light sensitive. A blank white screen out of no where is quite shocking to my nerves. I hope we can figure this out sooner than later. Is it possible I have a browser bug ? How do you get rid of malware on your firefox?

Hello Sweetsilverbird, I'm sorry to hear that you have malware on your computer. From what you have said I think you have some type of adware on your computer. They tend to advertise things. They often come as part of free software and can be quite annoying. The good news is I am here to help you get rid of that and it is quite easy.
So the first step is we are going to need to get some anti virus software on your computer. I recommend taking a look at [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware|this support article]] . Near the bottom it has a list of some free legitimate anti virus. Personally I would recommend Malwarebytes. After you pick one, all you have to do is download and install it. After that update it and run a scan and it will remove the thing that is causing so many problems for you.

Tracknames are cut off after I-Tunes import

I guess it's a problem of ID3-Tags. Some CDs with long names (>30 letters) are listed up correct after import but some cd's tracknames are cut off after 30 letters after having imported them to itunes. Of course I can correct the trackname after the import but it's a lot of work.
Does anybody know a solution?

I cannot make contact with the unit. I have even used an ethernet cable that I hooked to my router and still won't work. I cantinually get this message from Airport Utility. An error has occurred and I can not do anything else.

If you have the AirPort Express setup in Bridge Mode, try changing the Connection Sharing setting to "Share a public IP address"

You will probably get a message about a Double NAT error. Click to "ignore"
This setting might allow mutliple devices to connect and may not. It's worth a try...I have about a 60-70% success rate at hotels with this setting.
Unfortunately, as you note....hotels have become a lot smarter about connections to their network. At some point, they probably will not even allow another router to connect at all.

Song on iPod cutting off after a few seconds

A particular song on my iPod keeps cutting off after just a few seconds. When I play the song in iTunes it plays just fine. I've tried deleting the song from my iPod and reloading it, but it still does the same thing. I have several hundred songs on my iPod and this is the only one I've had any trouble with ... please help!

I have a problem too - may be related to this. I downloaded 5 albums over the weekend, plus a few singles. Every one of them has at least 1 song that stops playing partway through, some as quickly as 5 seconds in. Every now and then (I think it is after I do a sync) my songs cut off after the first few seconds. I went back to itunes and check the song and now the song can't be found. Or, the song cuts of there also.............The songs played fine up until this point. This has happened several times in the past year.

To delete all music from the iPod go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
