I have a mac 10.6.8, and trying to download from my ipad and having problems
My mac recognizes the device, but shows no images from the ipad.

Of course, you have to upgrade your Mac to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 in order to be able to download the correct version of iTunes to sync with your iPhone.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad: File>Transfer Purchases -
iTunes tells me there is an iOS update (5.1) but it never gets any further than trying to connect to the iPad server. I've tried updating directly from my iPad and it too times out saying it cannot connect to any server. My regular Apple updates work fine.
I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

My iphoto app will not launch after talking with an apple tech support who had me sync my iphone 4S with my mac desktop. The pictures downloaded from my iphone and after disconnecting from the Apple help, my iphoto had disappeared from the very bottom of the screen and will not launch. Reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

I am trying to download the latest iOS 5 for my ipad and husbands iphone 4 but firstly it is coming up saying 17 hours then I am getting network timeouts!! What is the problem that you're having with it ?.
If it seems that 10.9 Mavericks will be useful, or allow you to run some apps that you can't now... and you won't feel the (possible) loss of older apps that may not work, or PPC apps that definitely won't...
then backup first so that you can restore your existing system if there are any problems - and go ahead & install Mavericks. Nothing to lose but some time. -

Sorry that you are so upset but please calm down. Unfortunately, a little research into the product prior to purchase would have alerted you to the fact that the iPod never was and never has been like other MP3 players. This is perhaps why it is the leader in Market Share for all of these years. The iPod and iTunes go hand and hand. Also, the website and the packaging box give a little warning to the reccommended need for a Broadband connection. The size of the box give away the fact that a CD is no longer included. If you have access to a computer with high speed access then a copy of iTunes 7 can be saved to a disc for you. Also, since this is a new thing that Apple started (no longer providing discs) enough feedback may get them to go back to the old ways...not promised but possible.
Your frustration right now isn't really with the iPod itself as you have not fairly had the opportunity to use it. It's with the setup. I'm sure it's frustrating to have to go through the download via dialup but it's not enough to get that worked up about. All will be well. Life is too short to sweet the small stuff.
Although you are currently downloading it, you may still want to consider having a back up copy made to disc for you just in case you have a future. Here's hoping that once this hassle is cleared things will be better for you and you can maybe smile...or grin a little! -
My iPhone and iPad are showing NOT DELIVERED when I send an iMessage although they do send and all my credentials are up to date, this is a problem among all my friends who are iMessage users. Apple needs to correct and post resolution asap

I have an ipod touch. I am trying to download the newest upgrade and when I do I get the same message that to do so will mean all my old inof (songs, games, apps) will be erased!? Anyone else experience this problem?
If all the synced media (such as app and music) or in your iTunes library, and if you have a backup. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check, the restore the iPod from that backup. The restore will also update the iPod.

As of 2 months ago, I cannot fully access Facebook using either Safari or Firefox browsers. I have a Mac G5 running OSX 10.5.8, Safari 5.0.6 and Firefox 3.6.28. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this?
Aha, a PPC Mac!
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.
