I have a Mac OS 10.6.8. I want to change the apps that launch at start-up and can't find Library folder or StartUpItems folder. Tried the "Go To Folder" and "Find" functions. Please help.
Try double clicking your HD icon, then click on your HD Volume (under devices in the left side bar), then click on Library you should be able to find StartUpItems there.

i have just restored old back up onto my iphone instead of backing up - the photos messages etc i had have now disappeared replaced with old ones - is there anyway of unrestoring the phone???Please Help!!!
Unless the photos are synced somewhere to your computer or somewhere else I don't believe you can.

I have a macbook pro and some of the original widgets have been removed from the dashboard dock by mistake. I can't seen to find them to restore tham. HELP!!!
Widgets are located in the folder, users/"user name"/library/widgets/
Whilst holding down the option key in finder, and selecting the library under the "go" menu, you can access your library within Lion.
If you have a working Time Machine backup, you can restore those missing files back to the widgets folder. If you don't, and your widgets folder is empty, then they are indeed gone (unless they are still in the trash). You would then have to re-download them from where they came.
If everything is there, then just click the "+" symbol at the lower left corner of the dashboard screen to add them back to the window. -

I have upgraded to Lion OSX and to the latest Firefox and both crash when I try and open Firefox. I have reinstalled but get the same issue. Please help
the itunes says that it knows that there isan ipod there, but it doesnt recognize it. I have reset the ipod, restarted my computer, and reinstalled itunes.
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components (Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc ...) and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

I have 2 Macs - an iMac which holds my main iPhoto library and a Mac Book Pro which holds a subset of the library. How can I transfer photos and their metadata from the main library to the smaller 1 on the Mac Book Pro?
Link the two Macs together and use iPhoto Library Manager

I have a Mac OS 10.6.7 running Firefox 4.0.1. What happened to the enable cookies in Preference/Privacy. It's gone and I think I need to enable. I can't log on to Citibank to pay my bills using Firefox or Safari for that matter. Citibank says cookies must be enabled to access their on-line bank. I wonder if this is the problem...cookies that is?Yes, I found the cookies, and thanks for taking the time to help out. I called Citibank. They told me that they will not support Firefox or Safari for Mac because our user group is too small for them and the expense too high. The person that I spoke to said in the past, Firefox has worked with Citi, but that was just by accident. At the moment they have no plans to help Mac people using the latest OS log onto their website or enable programs like my Quicken or Mint.com to access. They don't work anymore either. I think all the problems happened after the last OS update.

You shouldn't need any application except what you already have: iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto....

Some formats are not readable by the above; you can use something like MPEG Streamclip to convert the footage or Quicktime Pro (as mentioned in one of the articles). -

If you have two displays attached, then the function to change from mirrored to extended Desktop will appear in System Prefs/Displays. -
