I have a mac osx 10.6.2. and can't update my os

can someone help me solve this issue,unable to install update 10.6.6 on my imac os 10.6.2 runnig on sonw leopard

Best start a new thread on that one.
Meanwhile, for Appleworks - you can open most AW documents in iWork
Just drag WP file onto the Pages icon in the Dock, or a SS file onto the numbers icon. Likewise presentation files onto the Keynote icon.
Or you can right-click on the file and use the "open with" dialogue to choose the relevant application, then click the 'change all' button to apply to all docs of that type..
Databases are less easy.
You can export AW DB files as ASCII text files which can then be imported into Numbers. Not ideal, but OK for simple lists.
You can then export them as .csv files which can be imported to most third-party database applications.
Another contributor suggests that you can simply change the .ASCII extension to .tsv and import directly to other databases.
For drawing and paint files, Intaglio looks OK, but pricey. You may find others with a bit of searching, but that's the only current app I found that claims to open AW draw and paint files (as distinct from MacPaint and MacDraw).
