  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10

My Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 does not work with Yosemite 10.10 nor does my Premier Elements 12. When I try to start them up I get the error message. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times its still the same. Strangely enough PSE 11 seem to work with Yosemite.  I uninstalled my Premier Elements as well and it behave the same way. How do I get a new copy of Premier Elements 12 to reinstall?

Just to further test what is happening to my iMac on Yosemite is I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC and when I go to launch it it gives mr the same error message as when I try to launch PES 12 or Premier Elements 12. So whatever the problem is it involves all three and so upgrading to Photoshop CC doesn't even help.  Could there be an Adobe file damaged or missing somewhere that is common to these and yet does not effect Revel and Lightroom?

Hi! I am interested in buying Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, swedish version. I will need to have it installed on 2 seperate PCs, will this work?

Yes, it will work. One Lightroom license entitles you to in two installations for your personal use. In other words, it isn't intended for both versions to be in use at the same time.

  • I have 23 inch Apple HD Display. Will this work with my MacBook Pro? How shall I connect it?

I have 23 inch Apple HD Display. Will this work with my MacBook Pro? How shall I connect it?

    yarova818,
there were two different 23-inch Apple Cinema HD displays made. The first one was made between 2002 and 2004, and has an ADC connector. The second one was made between 2004 and 2008, and has a DVI-D connector.
If you have the display with an ADC connector, then according to this Apple page, your display will work with your MacBook Pro if it’s a 13-inch or 15-inch model. If you have a first-generation MacBook Pro, you’d need an Apple DVI to ADC Adapter (or equivalent) to connect them. If you have a Unibody or Retina MacBook Pro, then you’d also need a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter (or equivalent) to complete the connection. A Retina model would also have the option of using a third-party HDMI to DVI-D adapter to complete the connection with the DVI to ADC adapter.
If you have the display with a DVI-D connector, then if you have a first-generation MacBook Pro, you should be able to plug it in directly. If you have a Unibody or Retina MacBook Pro, then the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter would let you make the connection. Again, Retina models also would have the option of using a third-party HDMI to DVI-D adapter.

  • 1 Account, 1 Mac, 1 PC, 2 iPods ------ Will this work?

Hey there. I have 1 account that my wife and I both share. I have a Mac, she has a PC (poor her). Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to allow her PC to see all the music on my MAC and vice versa since we are both authorized on my iTunes account.
Afterwards, I'm assuming its okay for her to sync her iPod on her PC and for me to sync my iPod on my Mac.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks !!!

Another way to transfer the files from your Mac to
your PC is to use an FTP or SFTP client on the PC to
connect to the Mac. This assumes that your PC and Mac
are somehow networked together (which they must be if
you are able to share music, via iTunes, between
    them).
    Here's the process:
    1. Install an SFTP client on your PC. I've had good
luck with SSH. (To get it, go to
    http://ssh.com/support/downloads/
n choose "SSH Secure Shell for Workstations" in the
    "Non-Commercial Versions" section -- assuming
you're, in fact, using this non-commercially.)
    2. Go back to your Mac and open System Preferences,
then choose "Sharing". Under the "Services" section
put a check next to "Remote Login". Once you do this,
you should see a message beneath the list of check
boxes saying something like: "To log in to this
computer remotely, type "ssh [email protected]" at a
shell command prompt." You'll need the "user" (your
Mac username) and "192.168.1.101" (your mac's IP
address or domain name) in the next step. (Note: If
the part after the "@" is not four numbers separated
by dots or something that looks like the part of a
webpage URL immediately after the "http://" (for
example, something like "www.apple.com") , then there
might be something wrong with your network.)
    3. Go back to your PC and start your SFTP client.
(For SSH, just start SSH and then look for an icon
that opens something that looks like a Finder
window.) Tell your SFTP client to open a new
connection. For the address of the new connection,
type whatever appears after the "@" in the message in
step 2. For the user name, type in your Mac user name
(listed in the message in step 2 -- the part before
the "@"). For the password, type in the password you
use to log into your mac.
Depending on which client you've decided to use, this
should open a finder-like window on your PC that
shows files on your Mac. You can drag PC files into
this window to upload them to your Mac and drag files
out of this window to download them from Mac to PC.
(iTunes music is usually in the "Music/iTunes
Library" subdirectory of your home directory.)
(This is all pretty secure: the communication between
your PC and mac is encrypted, and nobody can log into
your mac without both A) being on the same network as
you and B) knowing your username and password.)
    4. When you're done, close the SFTP client on your PC
and go back to your Mac. Go back to System
Preferences>Sharing and uncheck the box next to
    "remote login". That's it.
Mandatory Disclaimer: Don't copy music unless you are
sure it's legal for you to do so, etc., etc.
Hey, thanks for the response. I'm assuming since the PC and the Mac are both authenticated under the same account in iTunes, my dragging the music from one machine to the other will satisfy Apple's copyright issues and it will 'just work'. Right?
Also, whatever iPod my wife is using will be purely on her PC; my iPod will stay w/ my Mac so there will be no issues of format or overwriting.

Have bought mother in law a ipad and want to home share with her.  I want her to have her own apple ID tho as she travels a lot.  can this work?

Thanks.  I have my iPad on my lap and her iPod in my hand. We can FaceTime each other but it won't let either of us message each other. I know mine is activated as I use it frequently. I have activated hers as well. Maybe I will put it in the too hard basket for tonight, sleep on it and try again tomorrow.

  • Edit in Photoshop Elements 8 will not function.

Edit function on Photoshop Elements 8 will not work.  Gives a crash message says to uninstall "inspirational" then download update.  done and still Edit does not function. ??????

If PSE8 uses an Unwelcome Screen, bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
    The Editor's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    The Organizer's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements on an older Mac...just bought Mac Mini and migrated all my files...but 4.0 Does not work....can I upgrade PSE 4.0 to PSE 13?

Yes, any version of PSE qualifies for upgrade pricing, but if you're in the US you might want to consider running the trial  for now and waiting for the black friday specials, when the full version will be a lot less than the adobe upgrade price.

You cannot move or copy software between computers. You must reinstall. You will need the serial number. Check your account details on Adobe's site if you registered.

Sfasolo it appears you are installing Photoshop Elements as opposed to downloading Photoshop Elements.  For the error you have described I would recommend reviewing Updated installation instructions | Premiere Elements 10 | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/updated-installation-instructions-premiere-ele ments.html.

  • Running Photoshop Elements from different boot volumes

I posted this question on the Adobe message board without success. Hopefully, someone here knows the answer.
I have my MacBook internal drive partitioned into 2 volumes, each with a different OS.
I wish to run Photoshop Elements 6 while booted into an OS that is on a partition different from the partition that was used to install the PE application. Has anyone tried that/done that? Or, any suggestions on which library files need to be duplicated to make it work?

    Ralphjh wrote:
I’m not sure what you mean by licensing issues. I do have a license for Photoshop Elements. The problem is that The PE application will not permit me to re-enter the license code when I launch it from a different volume such as virtually all other applications will do.
That is what I mean by licensing issues. Mac App Store apps have their license inside the application bundle that is cryptographically signed. Such a system is much easier to live with than old-school registration systems such as what Adobe uses.
The version of PE that I am using works just fine. It does everything that I wish to do with it and if it has any bugs, I haven’t seen any.
I have that version of Photoshop Elements. I found it pretty flaky even on Mountain Lion. Some parts of it were discontinued almost immediately upon release. I know that its licensing is quite fragile. I once had an installer for another product that corrupted Photoshop. That wasn't really Photoshop's problem, but it is a fragile system. Here is a link to some tips for using Photoshop Elements on Mavericks: http://barbarabrundage.com/2013/10/28/photoshop-elements-and-os-x-mavericks/
The purpose of my post is based upon my desire to run applications from different OS’s on different partitions without re-installing them. I don’t know about applications that I don’t have but all of those that I have tried that exist on my main partition will permit me to launch them from other volumes, that is, all except Adobe Photoshop.
I don't think that is a wise idea. Modern versions of OS X really, really want applications to live inside of /Applications. The operating system heavily caches parts of applications and you could see strange results by running applications installed to any other location.
With older application, especially those that require an administrator password to install (like Photoshop Elements), it simply isn't your decision to make. You can only decide to install it or to uninstall it (if you are lucky). How and under what terms it decides to run is out of your control.
I’ll take a look at your suggestion regarding Pixelmator. If did does everything that I use PE for, without a significant learning curve, I just might say goodbye to Adobe. I assume that iPhoto can use Pixelmator as an external editor and recognize the modifications made by it.
A new version of Pixelmator is due to be released soon: http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/01/23/pixelmator-31-gains-dual-gpu-16-bit-im age-support-with-apples-new-mac-pro-
I bought Pixelmator a long time ago to try to get away from Adobe. I wasn't happy with the early versions. But they kept improving it and it kept getting rave reviews so I went ahead and tried it again after the Mac App Store version was released (i.e. I bought it twice) and I am quite happy with the latest version. I am also a big fan of iDraw. I can't even get past Adobe's recent icons. They are so bad! I'm not the only one that thinks so: http://blackpixel.com/blog/2012/02/adobe-icons-from-an-alternate-universe.html
