I have a macbook pro 2010, And my display will show up as blue until i tap the back of it excessively. I dont know what the problem is. Any ideas?

Is this a fixable problem that wont cost more than the computer is worth?

It may be a faulty display connection cable. Only an Apple store genius bar will be able to definitively diagnose the issue and provide you with the actual repair costs.

It is one of the items that Apple gets criticized at regular intervals. The MagSafe connector is proprietary and unlicensable, so the company has a lock-in on the power options. And as you have now found out, your hijinks trying to avoid buying an expensive new charger may have caused more damage and led to a total no-charge condition.

When i press command+I (Get Info) i see that there is 140 GB "Available Space" on my hard disk but when i click on my hard disk icon on the desktop, and then press "space" i only see 102 GB free!! What the f*???

Look in System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and remove Firefox from that list.

I shut it off took out the battery, reinstalled the battery. Then I put in the Snow Leopard CD and booted up to disk utility and The Snow Leopard partion would not show up?? I do see the microsoft partion.
I also rebooted holding down the shift key and still no Snow Leopard
Could you please tell me what I can do, what keys do I press on restart any advice to get Snow leopard back.

Have you restarted holding down the Opt key? That procedure should give you a gray screen with all of the partitions that exist. Then select the SL partition for boot. Also go to System Preferences and Startup Disk, unlock the lock and select the SL partition as the default boot partition, then relock.

Try a Safe Boot to clear the dyld_shared_cache (dynamic loader cache)

Safe Boot, which automatically rebuilds this cache (among other things).

When I start the mac up I hold the control button until the Mac OS install disk shows up. My hard drive doesn't show up anymore. Additional Information.
On my Mail Accounts setup it was set to "verizon.net" on incoming.
Now it faintly reads, "incoming.yahoo.verizon.net"

The simplest way is to use an external USB drive. Copy the iTunes folder to the drive while it's connected to your MBP. When done eject the drive. Connect the drive to the MBA. Navigate in the Finder to the /Home/Music/ folder on the MBA. Copy the iTunes folder from the external drive into the /Home/Music/ folder.
OS X Mountain Lion- Drag and drop.
If you have a backup of your MBP, then you can use it to restore the /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder to the MBA.
