I have a MacBook Pro 6.2 and a Samsung HPT5054 HD TV. Can I play a DVD from my Mac to my TV with an adapter and an HDMI cable or do I need an audio cable also?

Can I watch a DVD o my TV from my laptop with an adapter and HDMI cable or do I need an audio cable as well?

A seperate audio cable isn't required for your MBpro model.  It will send audio over the HDMI cable if you use the proper MiniDisplay port to HDMI adapter that supports audio.
