I have a Macbook Pro and can no longer access Number I keep getting an error message 1712 please help

I have a MacBook Pro and for some unknown reason I can't open numbers I keep getting a message error -1712 I can't open old documnents not the program

-1712 is a time-out error. It means the application (Numbers) is taking too long to do somthing. The 'something' is often attempting to open a corrupted file.
Holding the shift key, as suggested by Jerry, prevents Nmbers from trying to reopen files that were open when Numbers was last quit. For future reference, you might consider, before quitting Numbers, closing all files you will not require in your next session. Even ignoring the possibility of another corrrupted file bringing this problem on again later, not re-opening the files you do not need in the next session will shorten the launch time for Numbers.

I downloaded it for the first time a month ago and had it working but it stopped syncing, so I deinstalled the iCloud software and reinstalled, but keep getting the error message "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error. I researched the advice on the link provided by b noir as well as very similar advice from apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. It worked for me (for now).
Some things of note:
I did all of the things requested by the link I provided
My computer WOULD NOT uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I had to manually remove the folder (also as instructed by the url)
I also uninstalled MobileMe. Was a little different than removing the other apps. Follow instructs provided here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2992
I did not uninstall iCloud
I have to admit it was a bit scary removing all those things. Is important to note that when re-installing Apple, follow steps to do so as Administrator (the right-click thingy and whatnot).

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.

After having the logic board replaced on my Macbook Pro I can no longer access my photos in iPhoto

When I try to I get an error message the following error message;
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I've done all of the above except for restoring from my back up. Is someone able to advise how I do this please? I've backed up the whol computer in the past but not one application. Thank you.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

I have recently acquired a Macbook Pro, this is crazy but I can not figure out how to insert a dvd. I can see no switch to opperate the draw and the menu does not offer an option to open draw or insert disc! I be very gratfull for some help!

Unless you fell for it and got a Retina, in which case no drive for you! Will have to go back to the store and purchase an external Superdrive to go with it.

Okay. Spent 6 hours w Apple support today trying to get photoshop to work. They were awesome. Able to download photoshop 13 after upgrading to OSX10.8. But when I tried to import my library from my photoshop elements 10 only a small number transferred. Before spending the day with the kind apple staff, when I opened photoshop 10, it wouldn't allow me to open or download any of the photos sitting in the app. I was promised that my photos were transferred to adobe revel but only about 1/10 are available to me at this time. Do I need to pay adobe to transfer the library to revel ? Or am I missing something?

I'm trying to redeem my digital copies by inserting the disk and entering in my code, but I keep getting an error message that says "An error occurred while copying "*movie* from the DVD to your computer- the required disk cannot be found"

I don't know what is going on, I have tried this with several movies as we got a few for Christmas and I keep getting the same error message- I will admit that my MAC is a couple of years old, so I wonder if it is a hardware problem with my disk drive- the error message has a smaller type message saying to check the DVD for dirt or damage and try it again, but the disks are all brand new with nothing on them at all- I have already experienced trying to get a digital copy when it has expired (stupid movie companies) and they wouldnt' let me redeem it, I worry that I will have the same problem if I wait too long to get these movies...

Ok... I just tried connecting my iPod directly to a USB port on the computer rather than via the USB hub I was using and everything is fine. Odd, but I'm happy now.

Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities > Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A “Reset Password” window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled “Select the user account” if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password.
Select Apple menu > Restart from the menu bar.
