One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump andiPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

You can't, the camera kit connection kit which has a USB connection only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, and doesn't support the copying of any content off the iPad - you will either need to go via your computer.

Use Share/Computer/AVI to output each video as a DV-AVI.
Then open a new project set up for DV and combine the three AVIs on that timeline. Voila!

Assuming you are referring to a USB thumb drive, you have to make certain that it is formatted so that the MBP can read and write to it. Use Disk Utility>Erase to do that and select a format for just Macs or for both Mac and PC. Once formatted, you may drag and drop to the USB thumb drive icon on your desktop.

Adobe Reader Touch does not support Save or Save As yet. But we are working on adding the support in a future release.
How did you get PDF files "in Adobe"?
If you already have the PDF files on your device, you can simply use Microsoft File Explorer on the Windows 8 desktop to copy them to your USB flash drive.
If you tap/click on the link to a PDF file in Microsoft Internet Explorer (Windows Store app, i.e. Metro version), IE will prompt you to "Open" or "Save". After you choose the Save option, you can specify your USB flash drive as destination.

I am trying to save directly to iPhoto from Facebook and when I click down load it goes to the downloads and opens in Preview and if I move it from there to iPhoto is still has the preview border. I did find a way to download to my documents and move it to iPhoto but I should be able to save directly to iPhoto and the right click does not give me the option to save iPhoto. Right click on the photo in Safari and use the add photo to iPhoto option - if that is not there then your only choice is to save to disk and then import to iPhoto

All you should have to do is touch the ePrint icon (paper with blue rings behind it) in the upper-left corner of the printer's display. If you log onto ePrintCenter, it will also be displayed on your Printers page below the picture of your printer.

That is, I don't want to boot from the usb stick on my mac; I want to write an ISO to a usb stick that's plugged into my Macbook Pro (Mavericks), then carry the stick to a different machine (several discarded Windows boxes in fact), plug it in there, and watch it boot on that machine. I've done a bit of googling, but everything I find talks about making USB drives with content that can be booted on a Mac. What I'm wondering is if it's possible to write to use my Mac to write bootable USB gadgets that work on other machines that aren't running OSX software.
Anyone know if this is discussed anywhere? If not, what's the right forum to ask it on? And how do I ask it so that I don't get yet another explanation of how to make something that will boot on my Mac?
