I have a mysterious disappearance of approx. 10 app icons from my 4S.
I reset to no avail and the icons are still missing, The apps are still present; but I use some of them alot & would prefer not having to do a search every time I want to use them. I did a current sync with my PC. Nothing I have tried has changed anyting. The search does not give the app location as it does for those in a folder. A few of these apps have the "Top Hit" comment in the location file. I just got the phone & am new at this. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue? Thank You For Your Insight!
Purchase an iPhone 4s. There is no way to make yours work other than jailbreaking and even that is no longer guaranteed to work, and it is a topic we cannot help you with here.

Perhaps the iPad is a better device for you, although such small tools are not the best for those who cannot see well.

I was on a website all of a sudden my screen freezes I was able to get out of that screen after a few second and then noticed all my app icon disappeared I have an IPhone 5. Has this happened to anyone before?
That is very strange! Have you been able to get your apps icons back now? Have you attempted a soft reset by holding the power button and home button at the same time until the phone restarts? Keep me posted with the results!

My playlist appears in itunes, but the music files have mysteriously disappeared from my iTunes Media file. Is there a way to recover them? Tried searching and cannot find them.

Older Zens don't support AAC, which is the format iTunes uses for songs.

We have 2 IPhone 4'a on the same account. Mysteriously it seems that we each are "missing" very important info from where we stored in our "Notes"
Neither one of us synced our phones recently, and I have no idea where to look, or why this would happen. We also have an IPAD2 and out notes are also missing from there.
Can anyone shed some light on this, and what we need to do to retrieve our notes, or prevent this from happening again?
Thanks :-)It should be set up as a new device with her own Apple ID from her own email address. It seems it may be setup with a backup of your iPad.

External hard drive mysteriously disappeared.
My external hard drive (Firewire) mysteriously disappeared. I can get it to pop up in Disk Utility, but I can't get it to show on the desktop. I've tried it on a few Mac computers. Do you have any idea what happened?
That's very strange. I don't think I've heard of DU exhibiting that behavior before.
I presume the reason you don't want to erase the drive is that there is un-backed-up data on it, and that if you could recover that data you could either reformat (erase) or dispose of the drive.
You may want to try downloading and using the free demo version of one or more of these data recovery utilities:
Data Rescue II
FileSalvage
VirtualLab
In each case, the demo will show you what files the full version would be able to recover from the drive. You can then decide whether the files you could recover are valuable enough to justify buying the full version of the utility. -
Running my 3rd generation iPad on iOS 7.0.4, I saturated all the available iPad screen space (which would be the 15 home screens or desktop worth of space) with apps, and the apps that got bumped out of the last screen space mysteriously disappeared. Where are those missing quick lauch app icons now? The apps are still installed and can be searched/accessed through the finder, but they no longer have a user friendly access. How can I solve this problem?

Oh and Meg offered the right answer. Put your Apps in Folders, which will create extra space for the apps which have disappeared. -
Why have my notes disappeared?
Just for a little expansion of DonGuerneville advice. To turn NOTES off as he states:
1) Go to SETTINGS
2) go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3) Under account to the top right of your screen, go to EACH account listed here.
4) you will get a pop-up window which will list the following:
Mail
Contacts
Calendars
Reminders
Notes
Next to each entry is an on/off switch. Here is where you turn OFF the Notes.
If you do NOT do it for all Accounts listed they most likely will disappear into the accounts that were NOT turned off.
One last point. When my Notes first disappeared the first place I looked into was my Yahoo Account and they were NOT there. Three weeks LATER is when they first appeared. Why they delay, that is the new mystery.... -
Apple TV purchased items mysteriously disappearing.
I purchased a season of a TV show, and I downloaded directly to Apple TV. I have a first gen box. I contacted Apple and they claimed they "posted the missing items to my Apple ID". When I checked my Apple TV unit - some of the missing items appeared. Then they mysteriously disappeared again! I have sent multiple emails to Apple Technical Support and they have now stopped responding to my emails. I called Technical Support and they were no help. I saw on a discussion board where if you repurchase the items Apple will recognize that you already purchased, and allow you to download at no cost - NOT THE CASE. I tried, and I was asked " Are you sure you want to repurchase items?" There is an ITunes option to download previously purchased music and apps BUT NOT AN OPTION TO DOWNLOAD PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED MOVIES OR TV SHOWS.
Note I am running the most recent version of Itunes and I am running the most recent software for Apple TV.
This iI am the only person with access to the unit. I live alone. I doubt that Apple purposely "deleted" the content. It should have downloaded but I believe it did not. It believe the content was streaming, even though I opted to download. THe point is that Apple has not corrected the provblem. It has not provided the content for download even though I purchased it.

Navionics app mysteriously disappeared from my iPhone
I purchased Navionics and downloaded on my PC and sync'd across to my iPhone3. After a couple of months it mysteriously disappeared from my iPhone and would not sync back from laptop. I have since purchased another laptop and, in desperation REpurchased another copy of Navionics. It is sitting in iTunes along with all the other (free) apps I have downloaded, but will not sync over. Also the "Sync" command only seems to be syncing 1 thing and is not updating bookmarks etc. What's going on? Any suggestions appreciated!
Sorry cannot help. I have Navionics on ipad2 purchased using my new iTunes account, but now I cannot update it because whenever I press update button, a pop-up of old account will appear and prevent me from updating. It is really annoying and disappointing.

I had about 20 Notes mysteriously disappear from my iPhone 5.
I recently had most of my notes mysteriously disappear. The only notes that remain on my phone are over 3 years old. Trust me, I did not delete them. I have tried recovery software with no luck. A couple of the notes were business related and were my auto mileage records. Is there any way to recover the lost notes?
Are you syncing with Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, Gmail, etc. If so, which one.

I have not synced. But if I did, where would they be on my computer?Try going into Notes, then tap Accounts at the top left, and then tap All Notes. You can also try going into all of your email account settings and make sure Notes are switched on for all (green side showing).

Hi I have been having a problem with Bridge in CS4 recently. So uninstalled CS4 and Lightroom 4.4 and reinstalled them on my Desktop PC. When I turned on Bridge through CS4, My thumb nail images disappeared and a thumb nail icon with CR2 appeared. Now some of my images have disappeared from Light room 4.4, but I can find them in CS4 and Bridge now shows some thumb nails as images and some as an icon with CR2. I have spent two weeks going through preferences etc. to find how to resolve my problem. Please can you Help? Meany thanks in advance
Derek RandallI don't use LR and rarely use the bridge so I can not answers about thumbnails in them, However thumbnails in windows file explorer and windows dialog for CS2 files will only show if you have installed codec into windows that will produce them. Windows does not do CR2 thumbnails on its own. I use FastPictureViewer Codec package for RAW File and PSD files thunbmail support.

I just downloaded Yosemite and all my iPhotos have disappeared! I tried importing them from the photo library but it said there wasn't enough space on my hard drive which is rubbish, because they were there before. How do I get them back to iPhoto?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -
