I've downloaded a normal software upgrade and now my computer doesn't recognize that my music files are mine....I guess. Itunes library has tons of songs that I've either downloaded from disc or purchased from itunes. Now, they all have this little explanation point next to the file name. Can't put them on my itouch and can't play them on the computer.
Tried to ask apple to help...they want $29. I don't understand...I was simply upgrading my itouch with their software updates and now this. Had the same problem with my apps. Had to redownload all of them individually. Didn't have to pay for them again. They, too, had the little explanation mark next to them.
Help me.
I'm music-less.
KathyOk, I had a glitch, forced to restart, and lost my train of thought.
Reinstalling iTunes should fix the major issue that might have gone wrong, perhaps your explaination points will disappear and everything will be peachy again.
But if they don't, you can open the XML file in iTunes Folder using a Text edit program to see what the common pathname is to the iTunes Music folder or where your content is located.
If you moved the itunes folder, it needs to go back.
I can't download iTunes to my Vista virtual machine to test it out right now because iTunes is down, so I can't verify the pathname, perhaps your issue and the iTunes being down are related somehow?
You don't want to import all your music again, but it's a option, but you lose all your playlists, that's what I'm trying to recover.
If oyu don't have a whole lot of playlists, then simply select all the explaimation point music and delete, select File from the menu and import your itunes folder again. -
We reset back to factory settings. After a few attempts we found an email we could use to set up as Apple ID. Everything was working great. Now it has pulled up one of the email addresses we tried to use, and is trying to verify, and asking to continue to complete the set up. It gets to a certain page, and stays there, won't let us get out of the page. We shut down the iPad, but it came back to the same thing, when it restarted. What do we do to stop this?
You will need another iOS device or a computer in order to do this, but I assume that's not a problem since you are on this forum.
see if you can change the ID using the instructions here.

Did you try starting all over again to see if you can start from scratch now? -
I recently had my computer redone and had to redownload itunes on my computer and when I synced my ipod none of my music went into my library. How do I get my music that is on my ipod into my library on itunes?
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone . The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -
My Macbook is missing the garageband app completely. i have 10.7.5 so i can't download garageband from the app store because i need the 10.9.0 software. does anyone know how i can get garageband back?????

10.9 is free, so you could upgrade to that if you wished
if that's not an option for software compatibility reasons, you'd either need to re-install it from the original disks (that came with the computer, or a seperate iLife disc), a backup, or purchase a boxed version from someplace like eBay or Amazon (Amazon has iLife '11 for $39) -
The desktop image on my mac shows its file name. How do I get rid of that?
After I installed Earth 3D screen saver, the images shown as my desktop background are now showing a large tag with the filename, path included, of the image. How do I get rid of that tag?
Thank you!Gayskeptic wrote:
I did remove the offensive screensaver which, by the way, came from non other than the App Store. It did not solve the issue and I stll have that jideous path showing on my desktop wallpaper image.
Judging from the pic in your original post, you have quite a few files on your desktop. Suggest that you limit the amt of files on your desktop or keep them in your Dock or put all inside of folders. I did notice a few Safari files. You can even hide your HD if you want.
To hide the HD: Finder>General>Show these items on the desktop. Uncheck Hard disc.
After doing the above, try the following: Trash the finder plist file which is located: Option>Finder>Go>Library>Preferences. Repair permissions and restart the computer. Please post back the results.
Can you post the website link of the desktop pics for others to check? -
ITunes 7's wiped my iPod!!! How do I get my music back?
On plugging in my 20 gb clickwheel iPod after installing iTunes 7, iTunes came up with the error:
iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod. Go to the summary tab and click restore etc...
So I quit iTunes and unplugged the iPod only to find that now it doesn't appear to contain any tunes at all - nothing listed under album/artist etc
However, the About screen still shows Capacity 18.5 GB, Available 1.2 MB, as if the data's still there but the file allocation table's disappeared
Anyone know how I can get my music back?http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes605forwindows.html this link takes you to itunes 6 at the bottom of the page
Or use this link to go to all apples downloads an look for itune 6. http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ -
I have all my music on my ipod touch. I no longer hav ethe pc that stored my music. Can I get my music to cloud by activating it with my ipod? If not how do I get my music back on my pc?
iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
The content should have been copied from the old computer to the new computer or at the very least from the backup of the old computer. -
i synced my iphone 5 with my computer and save all the photos to my phone through itunes. i restored my mac and lost all my photos on the mac but i still have them on my phone. how do i get them on my new mac now?
how do i get them on my new mac now?
Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better. -

Before I updated my iPod I had all of the songs to an album that I bought on iTunes. After I updated my iPod I only have 5 of those songs from the album. I would like to know how I can get the rest of the songs cause I already paid for the album and I went on my computer and it said that I have to pay for them even though I already paid for the whole album. So what do I do?
Sync with the same computer iTunes that you normally sync with.

I recently received an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I synced it to my computer and now all the pictures that I have ever taken are on my I pod. How do I delete pictures that have been synced from my computer?
Hi megan21,
Connect your iPod to iTunes, click on your device, and then click on the "Photos" page. If you don't want any photos on your iPod, make sure the "Sync photos from [photo application]" checkbox is unchecked. Or, you could select specific photos in that page to sync to your iPod.
Hope this helps,

Hi. I recently got a new computer and transferred all my files across using TimeMachine. Whenever I try to sign into any CC program (including CC) the program instantly shuts down and an Apple error message comes up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CC twice with no avail and deleted every Adobe product on my computer and nothing is working.
I have seen similar discussions before... transferring does not work, you must install

I found my old iPod that I haven't used since about 2010, and I no longer have the computer that the library was synced with. Is there any way to get my music off of it so that I can put it on my new iPod? The old one is a 30 GB from 2005.
CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.
