I get an error message that something is wrong with the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't work. Any suggestions?

I spoke with Apple Support because I had done all the updates but found even after using Migration Assistant, my photo library had not moved over. If you used this tool, you might want to go into manual mode and move your library over with a click and drag from one computer to the other. Also found that my music and documents didn't move over either. Not sure what Migration Assistant did for 15 hours. I used an ethernet connection. There are faster ways if you have the right cables.

To get to the App Store, you need to upgrade the Tiger machine to Snow Leopard.

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

On the left pane is a list of common places.
All the user data is in the /Users folder.
See the magnifying glass on the upper left of the screen. This is spotlight. Type in a file name.

I really appreciate all your help. Today I spent some time on the problem. First I purchased any video converter from the ap store and then I connected the camera to the mac with the original usb cable that came with the camera. I turned on the camera and selected backup on pc and the logo came up on my home page. I opened it and after several attempts i found the 3 video files that were on the camera. I then converted them from a tod file to mp4 and then transfered them to imovie. Now I have to figure out how to send the video to youtube or move it to an external hard drive which I have not been able to do. So far I am not too fond of imovie 11. If you could send me the download for imovie 6 I then could try that route. When talking to apple support yesterday about the problem they suggested to get Final Cut Express. I upgraded from an 8-year old iMac to a new iMac with Yosemite. After migrating everything over, I can't run PSE because it said some files were missing. I re-installed the software using my original disk. Then I got a 150:30 Error. Help!

You can never, never migrate an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and has bits scattered all over your hard drive. Unfortunately, one of the things that does migrate is the file that tells PSE it's not on the authorized drive anymore. To deal with this at this point you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
After which you can go around and manually remove all the bits of PSE that you can find, not only from Applications, but also from the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and your username>library>preferences. Spotlight will not help you here; it's programmed to skip these kinds of files. If you need help finding those libraries, post back.

CS4 Design Premium on a new iMac with Yosemite

I am having trouble installing CS4 Design Premium from the original disks on a new iMac with Yosemite. It keeps going to an upgrade request and won't accept my serial number.
