I have a new ipad and it has been doing great and I love it.
today I have a message reading icloud backup...this ipad hasnt been backed up for 2 wks...backups happen when this ipad is plugged in (done) locked (done)
and connected to wifi (I assume this is also done as it is wireless)
the ok will not respond to touch nor the unlock... it is charged to 86%
What have I done????? Dahhhh
Perform a Reset...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Safari just hangs up and has to be restarted. My Macbook Pro has been doing great. Just iMac.

I have a MacBook Pro 15" 2.53GHz Mid2009.. updated to Lion which is now 10.7.3 build 11D50b... when I close lid and connect to Cinema Display, display will not activate when keyboard/mouse used... disconnect display, open lid and laptop display will not activate... only way out is hold power button. Worked fine before Lion update. Any Advice?

Before I installed Lion I simply hit any key on the keyboard or clicked the mouse...
The keyboard is USB (usually connected to monitor which is connected to laptop... have tried direct connect to laptop as well with no luck) and mouse is USB wireless to one of those tiny plug in's... have tried direct connect USb mouse as well with no luck.
I could plug the closed/sleeping laptop into the monitor and unplug from the monitor without incident all day/night... always worked fine.
Had heard something about this happening w/ Lion but went ahead anyway.
Oh well...

1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears. -

thanks,Even though the iPod shows as been connected, it might not have actually received a valid IP address via DHCP from your Wi-Fi access point or router. Head to Settings -> Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected. If 169.xxx.xxx.xxx is listed for an IP Address, then your iPod did not receive a valid IP address. To correct this you can reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds.
It wouldn't hurt to also reset your iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Recently bought a Pro. At home, it connects to wifi and internet just fine. On the road, it connects to wifi sites, but willl NOT connect to the internet, while Other devices, iPad2 and iPhone connect and browse just fine.

Try a soft reset or turn the device completely off then turn it back on again. Also you can toggle Airplane mode on for about 10 seconds and then turn it off. Sometimes that resets the radio signal inside the device.
A soft reset is basically holding onto the power button and the home button simultaneously together for about 10 seconds or until you see the screen flash and it should go completely black. Afterwards, tun the device back on like normally and see if that fixes the problem. -

I inadvertently pressed "emergency" then put in the too many times. I am technologicallly handicapped---that is how I got in trouble to begin with --> by playing with my iPhone 3G! Any and all help will be very much appreciated.
In one place on iTunes it says there are no problems then it tells me to press icons that are not available. My phone goes to telling me it is disabled ( phone is much like its user) to the phone key pad and that is as far as I am able to use the phone.

Contacts should be available on your computer as well and/or there are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts and other data over the air such as with an a Apple iCloud account (which also provides for updating your iPhone's backup automatically and wirelessly when the iPhone is connected to an available wi-fi network when connected to a power source), or with a Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail account.
If your iPhone's backup is being done with iTunes on your computer, the backup is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process. -
While updating the iOS version on my iPad it entered Recovery Mode. The screen is blank and I can not get it to complete the recovery process. I have tried several times using both a MACBook and a Windows 7 based computer running the latest iTunes program. Is there anything I can do other than to send it to Apple repair?

Same situation. Had to pull out the Mini to research this. The Apple logo has been on the screen about five min, oh, just went black. Home brought it back and popup is gone. Wonder why this happened to many folks.
