I have a new laptop with Window 7. The navigation(?) bar comes & goes, depending on cursor position. I'd like it to be always visible. What to do?

I have just downloaded and configured FireFox for my new computer using Windows 7. I've included classic theme restorer in my add ons. I have only 1 bar (Navigation(?)) at the top of the screen, just below the tabs. It has everything I need in it but I would like it to be stationary, rather than appearing when I move the cursor toward it & disappearing if I move the cursor away. I would like to be able to see the bar without having to disrupt what I'm doing to make it reappear. This seems to be a new feature. My old version of several weeks ago did not do this. Please help. Thank you...

I can't think of any way to make the Navigation Toolbar appear/disappear based on which direction you move your mouse.
Well, there is full screen view, where the whole toolbar area including the tab bar slides up off the screen, and reappears if you slide the mouse pointer all the way to the top. (You can use the F11 key to turn full screen view on and off.)
Is it possible this is an option of one of your extensions?

  • I have a new laptop with Windows 7

I have just changed to new laptop running Windows 7 & I have changed the library to the same external drive as I was using with last laptop (xp) but when I try to sync apps, podcasts etc it wants to wipe the iphone content & replace it with the itunes stuff.  I have all my apps in folders etc & want them to stay that way. Also I seem to have to actually 'add a folder' to the library to have it recognized!! If I am using the same external library why is'nt it already there & it shows nothing in the movie section-& i have movies in the library!!

Thanks Onion99, I actually have a wireless network and was able to set it up wirelessly.  As I said I was a new user.  I have since gotten an iPad2 and did the same thing, worked perfectly.  Now, I was given an Aiport Extreme 5.7 and have set it up and can even print wirelessly, but it doesn't seem to be getting the distance I was expecting.  It is hooked to my wireless router with ethernet cable, but I am running two laptops.  When I am working at the desk near the router and Airport, I am getting speeds of up to 18Mpbs, but when I go next door, about 50 feet I am only getting up to 4Mpbs wireless speed.  I don't have a 2.4gz phone, so that isn't causing intereference.  I am usually only running one laptop at a time, but I have a friend coming and she will be connecting the same network.  Do you have any knowledge or this Airport and how I can get the speeds I want at a distance.  I should add that without the airport, I get the same speeds at either laptop location.  I have 20Mbps wireless service and don't have any interruptions as I did with lower speed.

I have a new laptop running Windows 8.1. The 10.3.1 version downloaded, but it was incompatible with Windows 8 and 64-bit. Then I tried to download Itunes 11.1.5 and it comes up with the box asking me to save. When I click on save...NOTHING happens. AAAAAHHHHH!!! I even clicked on the download list to see if it is possessed and downloaded somewhere I didn't choose, but that's NOT happening either. Please help me! I have been messing with this and 4 other problems on this laptop for the last 32 hours. I'm getting tired and frustrated. Also, I haven't even put music on THIS Laptop because on my other one, I ended up with at least 5 copies of EACH SONG. Let's see 636 X 5 = 3,180 and they were in EVERY POSSIBLE LOCATION!!!

  • HT2305 I have a new computer with Windows 8 OS.  Do I need to install drivers so that my Ipod Nano will sync with this new computer:

My daughter gave me a new Ipod (Nano) for Christmas.  I had no problem download my songs from my old Ipod (Shuffle) to the new one.  However - since I do not buy songs on a regular basis, I did not buy a new song until 4/29/13.  Now for information...sometime in March my old laptop died, completely.  I had to go buy a new one - which I did and this new one has Windows 8 Operating System on it (which I hate, btw).
Now, when I bout a song on Tuesday, the song did not go to my new Ipod.   I tried everything and finally had to talk to a tech - who was very kind in helping me and we did get all my songs from Itunes to this new computer.  I thought the song I bought would then go on the Ipod - but it did not.  I had already hung up from the tech - since we had been talking on the phone for about an hour.  He informed me that he was giving me a "courtesy break" because it has been over 90 days since my new Ipod was purchased ---- just my darn luck!
Anyway, I have figured out on my own that the new Ipod Nano is not synced with the new laptop with Windows 8.  I have been trying for the last 2 hours to get it to do so and in doing so, found out that Windows 8 is not mentioned in any of the help forums.  So...my question is:  Do I need to install drivers on the computer or what?  I will not be purchasing anymore music from Itunes until I get this matter resolved.  Any help will be apreciated. Thank you.

  • Can't get adobe reader to install on my new laptop with windows 8

I can't get adobe reader to install onto my new laptop with windows 8. Basically what happens is that I start the download from the adobe screen by clicking the yellow download button, then I click run (I've also tried save and run), then I allow the program to make changes to my hard drive, and then finally a blank grey box appears in the in the middle of the screen, titled "adobe reader installer". After this box appears nothing else happens. I've let it sit for at least 30 minutes and still nothing. I've also disabled my pop up blocker, and set the security settings to default as suggested in other posts. Unfortunately this is the only pdf program that works for the site we have to use to write contracts, so I need to get this figured out asap. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

    Try installing from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise

  • I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. My computer name in Windows has changed, and now, my Ipad can't find Itunes

I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. My computer name in Windows has changed, and now, my Ipad can't find Itunes, and Itunes can't find my Ipad. [email protected]

Ok, if reinstalling iTunes as suggested above does not resolve the issue of iTunes recognising the iPad then try this -
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, make sure your lead /connections are no faulty.
Fourthly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
Failing all that, see here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/itunes/
As for making your new laptop your 'home computer' follow these instructions -
    1. Without connecting your iPad to your computer -
    A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
    B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
    C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent  iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
    2.  Connect your iPad to your computer -
    A) Start iTunes (it will not start automatically because of the action at 1(C) above).
    B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
    C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
    D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
    E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
    F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

  • Installing CS2Premium upgrade onto new laptop with Windows 8

I am trying to install a Creative Suite 2 Premium upgrade onto a new laptop with Windows 8.  The upgrade is from Photoshop 5.0, which I also have the original discs for, but is not installed on this new laptop.  Therefore, the upgrade is not being recognized.  I tried putting the 5.0 disc in and having the installation search for it as verification, but that wasn't working.  I realize both of these programs are ancient, but they are what I have.  So be it.  :-)  Can someone help me figure out how to get my CS2 upgrade to install?

    Hi tensuns,
You can download the CS2 Setup from the below mentioned link also please use the serial key mentioned in it.

  • New laptop with Windows 7

I just purchased a new laptop with windows 7 and trying to get my library from my iphone 3G on my new computer? How do I do it? It is all gray'd out when
I plug in my iphone, and nothing was moved over to my library. Help!

This has been a problem since purchased new about 8 months ago. It takes 5+ minutes just to boot up the toshibia.
The short answer is that you should have returned the computer immediately.
Just to make certain it's not due to software, restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. See the instructions in the section Recovering the Internal Storage Drive, which begins on p. 62 of the User's Guide.

Best to create recovery media in advance in case something goes wrong.
