Please tell me there is a way around this??? I couldnt face uploading all the cds again!!

Apple doesn't support the transferring of music from your iPod to your iTunes. Only iTunes to iPod. So to do this you will need to download a third party program that will help copy your music from your iPod back to your computer, or there are a couple manual methods you can check out.

If you iPod is set to automatically update and you plug it into iTunes, a message will pop up telling you that your iPod is linked to another library. It will ask if you want to sync and replace all your music. Make sure you hit NO. If you sync with an empty library, then your iPod will also end up empty, because when it syncs it makes an exact copy of your library.

My old laptop got a virus which im still annoyed enough about. So i obviously got a new laptop, which also meens a new itunes library with nothing on it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just this reason.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipad. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases

I'm pretty much tearing my hair out with this one, I don't know what to do - I simply cannot upload any photos from iPhone 4 to Macbook Pro.
This problem appeared out of the blue. I am trying to upload to iPhoto - not working. I have clearing the cache - not working. Tried the Dropbox app - not working and the option has now disappeared altogether. Tried Image Capture - not working. I went and had my iPhone replaced altogether - still not working. I thought it might be a problem with my iPhone or a problem with the back-ups or sometthing so I plugged in my boyfriend's to scope it out - still not working. I have restarted all devices many times. I have read through posts and posts about this and cannot find an answer.
iPhoto says: unreadable files - unrecognized format - not true!!
Image Capture just says there is an error importing.
Any help would be much appreciated - it's driving me mad!

My Pc recently had some trouble & i had to do an emergency reinstall of windows. As it was emergency i didnt have the possibility of backing up all files before i did it. When i connect my ipod to the pc it tries to sync & tells me that to sync it has to erase the ipod - *** all of my music is on the ipod & not on the pc i dont want to do that but it means i cant synce my ipod. Its the same PC as itunes was originally set up on but becuase of the restore it seems to think its a different PC so wont let me transfer files back onto the pc from the ipod. Help!!!!

Make sure that autosync is disabled in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, set up your account, connect your iPod and right click on it in the device list. Choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought music from iTunes to your new iTunes library.
If you want to use this computer to sync your device, right lick again in the device list and choose "backup"
This will perform a manual backup without the sync process. Set up at least one contact and event on your computer, to be able to merge data after your device got erased during the first sync.
Use the manual backup to restore your data and settings again.

Disk Crashed: can i restore playlist and music from iPod

My hard drive crashed and I lost everything on that disk. However, I have my music and playlist in my iPod Touch 32gb 2nd Generation. Is it possible to transfer the music and playlist back to my new hard drive?
I also have a backup from the music , but I have tried to import the iTunes Music Library (was in iTunes 9) to the new iTunes 10 and iTunes suddenly crashes.
I know I could just put all the music back but I'll have to make new playlists.. and I want to know how can I recover them either from the iTunes Music Library from iTunes 9 or my iPod

If it is purchased music through iTunes you can simply connect the iPod, open iTunes and go to File > Transfer Purchases.

I can not upload selected music from my computer to my iPhone.

I have already tried checking the song and clicking the sync button, that did not work, nor did it work when I checked the box to only sync checked music. Ever since itunes changed everything has been so much more complicated and confusing! I wish they would make simple tasks simple to do.

I tried that and I dont see the apple ID in the lower right. Its just a box with a bunch of tabs info, sorting, options, etc. Nothing else. I know the apple ID in the itunes is the same as the iphone because when it asks me for my password I enter in my password for my apple ID. This is a song that was emailed to me, it's music that has been cut with different songs on it. I tried adding a different song (one that I purchased) and I am still having the same problem. It used to be so easy, just drag and drop. Not sure why they have made so many changes making things so complicated. =(

I got a touch and it would sync normally with my iTunes library. i got the 2.0 update recently and when i try to sync it, it says syncing then backing up and all of the music is gone from my iPod but it's all still in my library. I would reset the whole thing to factory settings but i don't want to have to pay the $10 update fee again so is there anything that I can do to fix this? thanks!

You can Restore and you will not lose the upgrade, as long as you are still connecting to the same computer. Make sure that the option to Sync Music is selected on the Music tab in iTunes (with the IPT connected and selected in the device list). Note that when you install the 2.0 update, that process performs a Restore (it's required), and then you need to re-sync all of your music.

we recently had to completely reset the operating system for the computer knowing this would wipe out mmy itunes library on the computer i still have the entirety of it on my ipod device i was able to transfer my purchases but can't put music i hadn't bought through itunes

There are 2 different options. The first is to copy the content manually from your iPod using the instructions in an article such as this one.
Another option would be to use some sort of 3rd party software to help you accomplish the task. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer for a small list of possibilities.
