I have a new pc windows 8.1. How do I transfer my iTunes music from my old pc windows xp. I have not downloaded the iTunes store on my new computer.
We also have 2 nano and 2 iphones that use that iTunes account.

Copy the entire iTunes folder (located in My Music) from the old computer to the Music folder on the new computer.
After you move the iTunes folder, download iTunes and install it on the new computer.

There are a few things you could do, from networking the two computers, using an external hard drive or even using your iPod to make the move. Have a look at this User Tip: Migrating iTunes for Windows to a new PC
If you can network the computers there is also this one: Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows
To use your iPod on two computers without accidentally erasing it, change it to manual update on your old computer before connecting it to the new one. Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have loaded iTunes on your new computer and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync:

Another way to load iTunes on your new PC is to copy the songs directly from the iPod. There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not have caught up with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

Unless you've moved away from the default iTunes settings simply copying the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source machine into <User's Music> on the target computer (over a network, or via an intermediate copy on a portable drive) will transfer the library.

For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista. The computer screen went totally blank, but the computer turns on and works. We just cannot see anything on the screen. On the old computer, I had Itunes, 2 Iphones 3G and Ipod classic and ipod nano-5th generation. We bought a new Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7. Is there any way for me to transfer my itunes files (music/apps/etc) from the old computer to the new computer even though I cannot see the screen on the old computer? Please help!! Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

You should probably hook up a monitor to your old computer, borrow one if necessary. By default, whatever you do on your laptop should be duplicated on the monitor you plug in so you can see what you're doing.

Since my old laptop crashed, I have made its HD into an external drive till I can transfer contents.
However, I do not know how to go about iPhone syncing and saving info without losing data/information on my iPhone. As my iPhone also needs to be backed up!!
So where do I find the backup files for iTunes/iPhone on my old laptop (windows PC) hard drive?? So that I can transfer it to the new laptop (hopefully this should work??)

Easyesd way:
Copy the whole iTunes folder from your backup disk to the new Mac, replacing the existing iTunes folder in the folder "Music"
On your backup disk the folder should be in "Music" or, if that was a Windows machine, in "My Music"

It sounds like you have music that you want to transfer from your iPad to your new computer. You can use the Transfer Purchases function to get your iTunes and App Store purchases copied to your computer:

Any media that you had imported to your previous iTunes library and synced to your device will have to be re imported to iTunes, and synced over again.

You should always have a backup copy of your computer.
If you are moving Mac to Mac, then just copy the entire itunes folder to the new computer.
You can also use Migration assistant.
You can also type "move itunes library" or similar into the search bar.

You may need many other updates to retain compatibility with Lion. I suggest you reinstall Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you will need to erase the drive first. Be sure to backup your data if you haven't done so already.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended

Make sure iTunes is loaded on the PC
If all she wants are photos, she has to have the photos on her PC, not just on the old phone. The old iPhone backup doesn't save the actual photos, just the setting pointing to where the photos came from.
If the photos are on her PC, your should be able to sync them to the new iPhone with the Photos tab in iTunes (after the new phone is plugged in).
If the photos aren't on her computer, she can copy them from whatever computer has them (assuming she has access to it).

Here is an explanation as to why you aren't finding any information on Easy Transfer in Win 8.1:
"Windows Easy Transfer is weakened in Windows 8.1
Another program that’s been around for decades, Windows Easy Transfer seems to be on its way out in Windows 8.1. Windows Easy Transfer provided an easy way to move your files from your old computer to your new one by connecting an Easy Transfer Cable, a portable hard drive, or providing a network location.
Windows 8.1 accepts Windows Easy Transfer files stored on a portable drive, but it doesn’t support the Easy Transfer Cable or the network location. And the Windows 8.1 version of Windows Easy Transfer can import only old files; it can’t export files to another PC."
Also, here is a guide that will help you determine which programs that you are using in Vista will be compatible with Win 8.1.
Personally, I have upgraded my computer from Win 7 Pro to Win 8 Pro and then to Win 8.1. I haven't found any programs that don't run in Win 8.1. I hope you have the same fortune.
