I have a new phone can I retrieving phone numbers

I have a new iphone having lost my old one. I have been able to retrieve my apps but not my contact numbers. How can I get them????

Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes, select the Info tab from the menu. You can sync contacts from there.

Why can I not just have a new phone.

Yes, it should, that's why they have a warranty, and the warranty says that after 14 days and up to 1 year, they will replace it with a refurbished device.
If you buy a new car and have problems with the transmission after 6 months, do they give you a new car, or "refurbish" the one you have? (It's not like Verizon is doing something "new and different" with their warranty)

Okay, I dropped my phone in the pond and fried it. I have a new phone and have retrieved all the apps I want and the limited music I have downloaded. I don't seem able to get my ringtones back that allow me to know who's calling?

If the ringtones were create manually, it should be in your computer iTunes Library.
Purchased ringtones can only be allowed to download once. You should transfer ringtones purchases to your iTunes Library manually for safe keeping. if you didn't, you have to purchases them again.

iTunes match is a subscription that you have in when you were still in the UK. According to the terms & conditions you'll need to wait for the susbcription to end before you can change your country to iTunes Store USA.

Contacts should already be at iCloud.com if you have already set up iCloud sync services. Photos in Photostream can be viewed on a computer using the same iCloud account, but not at iCloud.com.
If you haven't already set up iCloud on your phone you won't be able to do so now you have lost it.

Hi, thanks for replying. However after doing this process I now get the error messages when I try to save. When I try to save to the SIM it says "SIM full cannot add contact" and when I try to save to the phone it says "error cannot save contact changes". I don't believe the SIM to be full as I only have 15 numbers on the SIM. Any other advice?

To update iOS on an iPhone not running iOS 5 or later, connect the iPhone to iTunes and under the Summary tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select Update. If there is an update avaiable, you should be prompted automatically.
If the iPhone is running iOS 5 or later, the same applies along with another option which can be done direct with the iPhone.
Would you like a link to the iPhone user guide where this is covered? Apple also includes a Safari bookmark with Safari on an iOS device for easy access to the user guide on the device.

Before doing this, I backed my phone up on my friend's computer because that is where I had been getting all of my music because I didn't have a computer at the time. I now live in another state and I finally replaced my iPhone. my friend emailed me my backup, and I downloaded it. I didn't have an app that could display the download so I downloaded iZip because that was one of the ones the app store recommended. I now can see the file that my friend sent me, but what do I do from here to get it on my phone? I tried simply dragging the file into iTunes, but that didn't work. I am not very savvy with this stuff, please help. I have no music, photos, anything.

Depending on what kind of computer you have, you're gonna need to put that backup in the appropriate folder or itunes is not gonna be able to see it for you to use.

Nope not at all. You can activate any phone that is a vzw phone and not on the stolen list at any time on your account and it won't mess anything up
