I have a new service provider. How do I make sure Firefox knows where I am so I get local news updates etc. Do I need to contact the service provider or can I do something on my mac?
Just switched to At&t u-verse now my home page Yahoo is not coming up with local news. I can't remember how to tell it where I am. Any help would be appreciated
Actually you always use ethernet..
MBA does not come with ethernet port.. but apple sells both a cheap usb to ethernet and a much more expensive and much faster thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. With ethernet to eliminite this silly situation of setting up wireless over wireless, so if you make any change you instantly drops you off the network. Like cartoons of people sawing off the branch they are sitting on.
But you can reset.. no reset will do anything at all to the material on the hard disk. You must deliberately erase it.
Read the info because you may only need to do a soft reset. That is hold the reset for 1sec (2-3sec is fine) as long as you don't hold it for a full reset.

Even a full factory reset will not harm your files in any way, (or any further!!)
I am "concerned" that you have no backup to vital files on your TC. That is not wise. TC are no more immune to failure than any other hard disk.. (actually latest ones use the cheapest green WD drives money can buy) and keeping files in only one location is a receipe for disaster. An external drive is much more accessible.. cheaper and tend to be more reliable. There are too many things to break in the TC.. it is designed as a backup target for TM. Not a file store.

If you're both using Muse then it's no different than if you were both using PS, AI, Word, etc. You need to use a mechanism to enable you to both have access to the latest version of the .muse file (i.e. Creative Cloud Files folder, Dropbox, file server location, etc.).
Changes made in the browser will sync back to the .muse file. Changes made in Muse are saved in the .muse file and if you're going to work on the site in Muse on two different machines then you need to have the up-to-date .muse file on the other machine. -

You copy all your stuff from the only computer to the new computer. This includes the iPod backup file. You then restore the iPod from backup on the new computer.

I downloaded the free Mavericks upgrade to my late 2008 MBP on Friday. I made sure to plug in my external hard drive so that Time Machine could back up beforehand. (I should say I'm not clear about the different kinds of backups that Time Machine does - I just plug it in and let it go.).
So have tried several times over the weekend to install, it takes 46 minutes each time - only to tell me it can't do it. There was an error message of needing to contact the software provider (or something similar). After searching the internet (on my husband's computer - since my MBP is rendered useless right now) I decided maybe I should wait on Mavericks and just do a system restore. However, when I plugged in the Hard Drive and proceed to System Restore, the latest date available is one from September of 2012 (14 months ago)... I've wondered if the date might be wrong? But I'm afraid to choose it because I'm not sure what I would lose. It might take me back to Snow Leopard rather than Lion... (however, the version on Restore was 10.8.1 which is Mtn Lion, right? Even tho it was last year...)
Some sources online say that I should go into applications and delete the install -- but I can't get to anything on my computer.
I tried to do a reboot in safe mode - but not sure if it worked...
I did look on the installer log error and the latest error is:
Local Host Report crash [378]
Can anyone help me? (Using simpleton, non-techie language?

You can turn iMessage off on your iPhone. That's relatively easy. Since iMessage is an Apple product/service, I have no idea how a Samsung phone will deal with an incoming one. For that answer you should probably contact Samsung support.

You can tell if the File System (the various directories, catalogs etc.) is ok by repairing your backup drive, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
You can "spot check" whether the Time Machine "Star Wars" display seems correct.
You can do a full system restore to another disk per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions, then start up from it and see if things are there and seem to work.
You can keep "secondary" backups (always a good idea). See #27 in the FAQ post for some suggestions. -

You have to import the video to your computer by connecting the iPad with cable and then using iPhoto if you have a Mac or Windows Explorer or any other camera application that will import photos and videos. Read this for instructions.

Make sure that you backup and sync with iTunes as well, if You have never synced with iTunes before, it might just be easier for you to backup with iCloud. You can restore from the backup when you get the replacement iPad.

One you start up the new one for the first time, Setup Assistant starts and offers you the option of migrating your old Mac to your new Mac with Time Machine, among other choices, as the source. You can also use Migration Assistant (in the Utilities Folder) to do the same thing. -

When you open the project, it should ask you where the first file is located. After you tell it where it is, it should be able to find the rest of them if they are located near the first one. Then save the file. If you move the files again, you will have to relink them again. -

Any iPhone that lists the same email will receive the same texts. This has to be changed in order to stop receiving on all devices.
