I have a "not authorized to view content" on my Apple TV.

I have an Apple TV (1st Gen). All software is up-to-date. Last spring there was an issue where the Apple TV would not talk to iTunes. After a week or so, Apple fixed the issue. I was able to access and view all my movies on my iMac and I synced my Apple TV. When I went on Apple TV I was able to watch all my movies except one, Les Miserable. When I purchased the HD version a few months prior, I was able to watch the movie several times with no issues. When I try to watch "Les Miserable" on Apple TV now, I get a message that says: "not authorized to view content." I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or an iTunes issue.

Hi. Whenever I add add family videos (mp4, created with CRUNCH), my movie rentals stop working on Apple TV. I get the message saying that Apple TV is not authorized to view content. These are movies that I have paid for and have been downloaded directly to Apple TV. (Same problem occurs even if I download movies rental to my Mac and transfer them to Apple TV.)
If I remove my family videos from Apple TV, then the movies rentals work again.
I don't like this situation -- Apple is forcing me to choose between my family videos or movie rentals. Has anyone else experienced this problem?? Any ideas or suggestions??

Yes, my home movies play with no problem on Apple TV. I've tried other conversion programs with the same results.
Once I remove my home movies the movie rentals are fine again. But once I place the home videos back on Apple TV, the rentals stop working.
I am in Canada -- where movie rentals have only just become available. Could this have anything to do with it??? Perhaps there are still a few glitches in the system?

I have not used my AppleTV1 for quite a while and have since upgraded from a MacBook (black) to a MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). I tried to hook up to the AppleTV1 (wired connection) and see if I could get it working. All seemed to go well but I can't seem to download my Library to the Apple TV. When I tried to view a movie or TV show from my library on the MacBook Pro, I get a message that the "content is not authorized for viewing" What does this mean and can I fix it??

I did a full factory reset on the Apple TV and then set evrything up again. Synced all my stuff from the computer, which seemed to download ok, but still get the "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content" message. It's very frustrating. All the content was purchased from the iTumes Canada store, I'm in Canada but can't watch it on the TV. I tried changing to the US store but same message. I think I'll just give up. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with an Apple product and I have never used anyrhing else but Apple. Thanks for your help anyway it's much appreciated.

Apple TV not authorized to view that rented movie

OK. I just got my new Apple TV or iTV as I like to call. I am so excited and I tried to rent a movie. WOW, it really has been a problem. I have the movie on my ATV and I go to play it and it tries to authorize for a couple of seconds then then tells me that the ATV is not authorized to view the movie. I tried to check the support for information.
I tried to go to store, check purchases.
I tried to authorize the ATV.
I am using my timecapsule network, wireless and have logged in to both the internet and my apple ID.
I also decided to use the shared deal instead of actually transferring, thought that might be the problem so I changed it, both give me the same problem.
PLEASE Help, My family is waiting!

I recently hooked up my ATV to my network (with an Ethernet cable not wireless). It worked great..allowed me to purchase music, purchase tv shows, and synced great with my iTunes on my mac book. I can browse YouTube, watch movie previews. The problem is when I rent a movie the ATV will allow me to rent the movie...iTunes charges my credit card..i can even download the movie but when I try to play the movie i get the message "Your Apple TV is not Authorized to play this content." I spent two hours on the phone with Tech support and emailed back and forth with iTunes support with no resolution. I really don't think anything is wrong with the ATV but who knows. I even hooked the ATV directly to my modem (Charter Cable is my ISP) and got the same results. Very frustrating.

HTTP Error 403 You are not authorized to view the requested resource

Hi Experts,
When I open the node "Hierarchie groups" I get the following error: "Connection couldn't be recreated: 1 cause: Encountered invalid managed connection, last cause Couldn't execute interaction. 2 cause: Couldn't execute interaction. "
In the log file I find the following:
User MI_SERVADM, IP address
HTTP request processing failed. HTTP error [403] will be returned. The error is [You are not authorized to view the requested resource.No details available].
I used the User Service for administrator, I have not used the individual user for administrator.

Ah anyway I receive the above error even when I do a search in the node "Mobile Components".

I am not authorized to view my screenshots. what can i do?

my computer will not allow me to view my screenshots/screencaptures that i have taken. it says that i am not authorized to view them but i always have been. what may i do to fix this?

Quit the Preview application if it's running. Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select Services ▹ Reveal from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Move the selected folder to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.

Getting "Device not authorized to play content"

Just purchased APPLE TV. I had a movie on my iPad and I wanted to Airplay to my Samsung LCD. Getting error "Device not authorized to play content". Any pointers? Suggestions?

Becz of some requirement, i have customized SQR to store PDF output files into custom directory located in UNIX,
psreports/htst2/my_fodler.
When i try to access them using ViewContentURL or manually writing the follolwing URL into my browser while im being
in environment as syntaxed below
http://<webserver>/psreports/htst2/my_folder/my_pdf.pdf
the system kicks out of the system with the error "you are not authorized to view the report(s)" for all the users.
By default if i ran any report as distribution node setup all the PDF's are getting saved into...
/psreports/htst2/YYYYMMDD/CONTENT_ID/my_pdf.pdf
Those files im able to access like below
http://<webserver>/psreports/htst2/CONTENT_ID/my_pdf.pdf
Can anyone helpme out what is the difference and any workaround for this?

Fortunately, it is not allowed to go through all the path directories you want onto the server. If you want your report in a specific folder, then rewrite your code to create the output file where you want, after the admin give you the proper grant against that folder.

I am trying to access Administration and Help links in SLD. But when i click on those links getting " You are not authorized to view the requested resource." And I have assigned all SLD roles to my user.
And same message is coming when click on System Information in http://<host>:<port>/index.html page. Please let me know that anyother roles required for accessing SLD and System Information.

Not authorized to show content using airplay

Just bought an Apple TV. I can push content to it from my iPad or iPod fine, and I can access my iTunes account on my computer fine. However when my boyfriend comes over, he cannot push content to the Apple TV from his iPad. The airplay icon shows fine, but when he tries, it says that he is not authorized to play content on this device. It doesn't make sense because when we were at his parent's place over Christmas, I was able to push content from my iPad to their Apple TV with no problems, even though I've never been there before and no authorizations were needed. We tried this with four or five different videos and songs, but to no effect. Each time it told us that it wasn't authorized. We also tried signing into the Apple TV using his iTunes account, but were still told the device wasn't authorized to play his content. Can anyone help?

Did you try turning airplay off/on via ATV? Maybe rebooting the iPad? Having both devices signed into the same account?

I down loaded two movies to watch on a flight, when I tried two watch either one of them, it said" not authorized for this content" Not sure what this means. I don't think I have child control on.

I have read about some cases where movies rented or purchased on one device will not play on another device. Seems to happen mostly with Apple TV and iPads. One way some have worked around it is to cable from the downloaded device to a TV or Apple TV.
Were these movies purchased or rented from iTunes? Not sure, but that almost sounds like a iTunes Password problem. Maybe try checking that you're signed in as the same account that purchased the movies.
