Try rendering it and then watching it on a video monitor, not the computer monitor.

Hi,
The Project number has to be unique across the OUs. But Iam not sure how you will achieve it. Since having different sequence numbers will cause issues(it will create overlapping project numbers and hence you will not be able to create a project)
But technically it is doable. The way is given below. But it may cause issues in having project number to be unique across OUs.
1. Make the Project Number 'Manual' for all OUs.
2. Create one sequence for each OU.
3. When creating Project through Forms/OAF, use custom code to populate the project number automatically
by accessing the correct sequence, depending upon the OU.
This is just a thought. Let me know if this works.

Access sequence for stock transfer order

Hi,
My client is a paper industry. client is procuring raw materials from forest center. We are considering forest center as plant 1800 and paper mill as plant 1100. several depots has been created under forest center and considering them as storage location. goods receipt at forest center is happening through scheduling agreements. stock is transfered from forest center depots to mill through stock transport order.
For each depots, freight value per MT is fixed for transporting goods from forest center to mill. Clients requirement is to maintain the rates for freight for each depots so that it will pick from condition records. No need to enter freight value in stock transport order.
I have created an access sequence for combination of plant (1800) and forest center depots and maintained condition table. but it is not working as in stock transport order, there is no storage location option for supplying plant. In stock transport order supplying plant is forest center (1800) and receiving plant is mill (1100).
Please guide me where to maintain the freight rate as this is mandatory for my client.

Access seq with depot will not work becuse you don't have the storage location field in the header
Rather create the diff pruchase group for each depot and assign them in STO based on your depot(storage location)
and create the access sequence based on the palnt and purchase group than it will work.

we have a planing sequence which is designed to handle one value of the characteristic "plan" in the filter.
In one special case we have to execute the sequence for all values of the characterisitc "plan".
In this special case we start the sequence via process chain.
What is the best way to start the sequence multiple times with different filter values?
(To adjust the sequence to handle multple plans is not an option at the moment)
The gerneral idea is to embed a ABAP program in the process chain. This program should determine for which plans the sequence has to be started. In a loop over the plans the program starts
a) An other process chain which contains the sequence
b) the sequence directly via program "RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE"
each of both alternatives has several problems
a) the program can just start the next execution of the chain if the first execution in finished. How can I handle this in the program.
When starting the chain, it must be provided with the actual value of the plan. How to handle this? Maybe I will use one variant with a exit varialbe wich selects the value out of an ABAP dictionary table. The program has to write the value in the table before calling the porcess chain. Any better ideas?
b) The ABAP program should not be finished before all planing sequences are finished. How can I find out if the planing sequences are finished. How many planing sequences can be started paraellel with the same user (ALREMOTE)? The problem with providing the actual filter value is the same than in A).
Which alternetive would you choose?
Do you see any more problems?
Any help or opinion is appreciated?

Here you can specify "process in packages" and "Configured packaging" based on "plan" in your filter.
You need to specify a variant which contains all "plan" values.

Alphanumeric sequence for RDA, PO and Receipts

Hi,
My customer ask to have a specific numeric sequence for all the RDA, PO and Receipt created in Oracle
The customer use Iproc to generate the RDA and needs to have a dedicated alphanumberic sequence, The same for the PO generated from the RDA and the same for the Receipts generated after the PO processed.
I saw that in PO I can create manual alphanumeric number, but I need to generate automatically.
Is there any workaround or customization that I can do to solve the issue?

Your question is not clear.
If you go to Purchasing > setup > organizations > purchasing options > numbering, you will see that you can setup the system to automatically generate the next number. A different sequence is used for RFQ, PO, Quote and Requisition.

Help required with Access Sequence for 'Delivery output' of Scheduling note

Dear Gurus
I need help with creation of an Access Sequence.
I have created an access sequence for sales org and customer, where the communication is emailed or faxed to the CR party- Forwarding agent.
BUT - some customers have more than 1 forwarding agent in their masterdata, and not all forwarding agents are wanting to receive fax/email, so if a condition record exists it will always try to send via the method set up against the customer.
I need to create an access sequence which looks at the customer/ Forwarding agent combination, - I have created new condition tables and Access sequences to include Vendor, - but when i create delivery notes, - this is not working, - it is not recognising the access sequence at all, the vendor party/haulier is not being recognised at all- I keep getting access not made, Initialised field'
Please advise how i can get the customer/Forwarding agent scenario to work

Hi Tony,
The field SPDNR can not be entered directly in the feild catalog list.
First it has to be included in the list through inculde or user exit......
SPRO->Sales and Distribution>System Modifications->Create New Fields (Using Condition Technique)-->New Fields For Output Control---> Use INCLUDE for new fields in Dictionary (messages) or Use user exit for new fields (messages)
You ask your ABAP consultant to do this then it will be available in the field catalog list then u can select in the condition table then into access sequence and so on...

Hi there,
It is always possible to have work around to solve issue without refer to OSS to change any programming coding.
We want to have a freight charge appear on each sales order automatically according to some condition. Most of the time, this freight charge is a flat rate (if it is depend on qty or value, then we're so easy to set it in item level).
In order to do so, we'll have one assumption. The item line number of sales order is auto running number, like 10, 20 and etc created by system and not manually input.
Then we create a pricing condition type like other discount or charge in ITEM LEVEL with your selected condition like customer, sales office, country and etc. However, remember to add the sales item line as part of the condition of this pricing condition.
Update the pricing procedure and create price condition record with say "10" for the sales item line. Since you'll have line number 10 for all sales order as first line (no mater it is a free of charge item or not). This new condition will generate a "freight cost" in the pricing procedure. And it is only apply to first line, therefore, we only get once of this charge for one order.
Hope this is your case and it works with ours.

Best Capture Setting for MiniDV

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best capture setting in FCP 6 for MiniDV tape (NTSC not PAL). Can I capture it with the Pro Res setting or should I capture it in another setting and then edit with the sequence setting set to Pro Res?

Capture and edit the material in its native format. DV-NTSC has it's own special Easy Preset. Select it and have at it.
You gain nothing except huge file sizes when converting DV into ProRes.

PAL output of NTSC project sequence in FCP?

Hey there,
I'm using a powermac g5 with FCP HD 4.5 and osx 10.4.
I need to output a sequence shot NTSC to a quicktime movie that will go to a PAL minidv and PAL dvd.
Will there be artefacts or flicker if I simply choose a Pal (25fps) output from the FCP Quicktime movie output, and let FCP convert in the output?
In the past , I have tried cut and pasting the ntsc footage from an ntsc fcp sequence to a Pal fcp sequence, but frames are lost in the rendering.
Are these the best ways of achieving a conversion in FCP or can anyone advise otherwise?

I tried that setting. It didn't work. No idea why. That's why I tried many other ways.
I have now successfully made a PAL DVD by having Encore transcode the NTSC version, but the results are UGLY. Smearing, ghosting, interacing artifacts. It looks like garbage now.
Right at this moment I am trying the sttings you state above, yet again, and hoping for success once I get into Adobe Encore. Maybe something magic will happen. I'll report back if it does.
UPDATE: No idea how or why, but I did it. Somehow the last time was the charm. I have a PAL DVD.
However, I am not very happy that Premiere Pro chose to drop 1 frame per second tather than just give me the film at 25fps. That kind of conversion is really not very hot.
So there MUST be a better way of doing this.

I have HDV footage that I'd like to drop into a SD sequence in order to render it out and create a DVD.
What do I set the sequence settings to in order to create a 16:9 SD sequence? Do I click anamorphic? What dimmensions do I put in (i.e. 720x480 for 4:3, what is it for 16:9)?

Hey Big,
The best way for you to do this is to go under the FCp tab at the top of the app and select the "Easy Set-up" option. Under that option on the top right it will say "Show all" select that and you will get a drop down of all FCP quick set ups. If you have already captured the footage and used the camera to convert HDV to DV and you want the 16:9 look you can use the DV-NTSC 4:3 and add a widescreen matte.
If the footage is 16:9 than in that easy setup select Anamorphic NTSC and that will set everything up for you in FCP.

Why does ntsc QT file in ntsc QT sequence need to be rendered?

I have a feature in 5 reels. All reels have been converted from PAL to NTSC via Atlantis and imported into FCP. I'm on deadline to deliver a print and thought that since all clips in the timeline are NTSC and the Sequence is NTSC it should not need to be rendered. Unfortunately, they do need rendering and I don't think I will make it. Why is it asking to render? Can someone please help? Here are the settings and info below. Thanks in advance for any help.
Each reel is now an ntsc QT clip.

did you change the settings in the: Sequence>Settings menu or in the: Final Cut Pro Menu?
If in the Final Cut Pro menu it will take effect the next time you create a sequence and will not change the current settings.

Letterboxing HD sequence for DVD to play on standard TVs?

I have edited a sequence in Final Cut Express 4.0.1 that is HD 1440x1080, Apple Intermediate Codec, 25 fps.
I would like to create a letterboxed version to place on a DVD that will play on standard size TVs -- and keep the quality of the original video.
Here's what I've tried:
1. First, I used "Easy Setup" to create a separate NTSC sequence. I then dragged my original HD sequence icon into the canvas of the NTSC sequence and dropped into the overwrite box. However, it says, "Your sequence should be set to the format of the clips you are editing. Change sequence settings to match the clip settings?" If I say yes, the new sequence becomes like the original sequence, which defeats the point. If I say no, it gives me the error message, "Operation not allowed. You cannot nest sequences with different editing timebases."
2. I exported my original HD sequence as a QuickTime movie. I brought that .mov icon into the browser, then dragged it into the canvas of the NTSC sequence and dropped into the overwrite box. This successfully creates a letterbox, but the quality of the video suffers greatly. I would be embarrassed to show this version.
3. I exported my original HD sequence using QuickTime conversion. I tried many different settings, sizes, etc. I often checked the "Preserve aspect ratio using letterbox" option. However, no matter what I did, the video was distorted every time, not letterboxed but stretched vertically.
4. I tried creating a DVD with the .mov of my original HD sequence. In iDVD, I burned two copies, one using the 4:3 setting and one using the 16:9 setting. Both created a DVD that plays fine on my computer, but is too wide to play correctly on my TV. The edges of the picture go off the right and left sides of the TV screen.
I need to be able to put this sequence on a DVD that will play on TVs. Does anyone have ideas for how to solve this?

Yes, it seems the original material is widescreen.
I am using QuickTime 7.5.5. In the QuickTime Movie Inspector, the values are:
Format: DV, 720 x 480 (853 x 480)
Normal size: 853 x 480 pixels
Current size: 853 x 480 pixels (Actual)
However, in Final Cut Express the same clip in Item Properties has a value of:
Frame size: 720x480
But I can see just by looking at the video that it is not standard size SD. So I tried:
1. Copying the edited clips from the timeline of the HD sequence and pasting into the NTSC sequence, then removing the attributes. The video is still distorted, lengthened vertically.
2. Using Easy Setup to create a new NTSC Anamorphic sequence, then copying in the edited clips from the timeline of the HD sequence. The video is not distorted vertically or horizontally, but it does not appear correctly. Only the inner section of the video displays -- it's as if the frame has been zoomed in on every clip. If, however, I pull one of the clips from the bin directly into the new NTSC Anamorphic timeline, the video appears correctly. It does not have black letterbox bars, but simply appears widescreen as it did in the HD sequence.
Does it sound to you like starting over is my best solution?
Before I do, I'd like to confirm that I will be able to export a copy using these settings and burn a DVD that will play on standard TV.
I tried exporting the NTSC Anamorphic sequence with the one correctly-appearing clip. I used QuickTime Conversion and tried setting the size at each NTSC 720x480 4x3 and 768x576 SD with the "Preserve aspect ratio using letterbox" option checked. However, each time this created a movie that was both letterboxed and lengthened vertically -- as if the black bars at top and bottom are not wide enough.
Do you think NTSC Anamorphic is the best setup for this size video?

I would appreciate some advice on creating a task sequence for Win8.1 with TPM enabling for Dell laptops; I have BitLocker set up manually with a Group policy, but want to have TPM enabled in the task sequence. I have read older posts on sites such as windows
noob, but can't see how to reference the CCTK and get TPM going for win8.1 in a SCCM2012 environment.
Obviously I haven't created this before so any help would be appreciated; I have noticed when I try to import my CCTK configurations into SCCM as it isn't a zip file I cannot do it.
