I have a number of gzip compressed
archive files I'd like to delete. How do I do this

Select files and use one of the following:
Drag to Trash.
CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Move To Trash from the context menu.
Select Move To Trash from the Finder's File menu.
Press the COMMAND and Delete keys.
Then Empty the Trash using one of the following:
CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the Trashcan and select Empty from the context menu.
Select Empty the Trash from the Finder's Finder menu.
Press SHIFT-COMMAND-Delete keys.
