I have a OS X 10.6.8, can I download the newest Pages application?I never had any other version.

I am not technelogically savvy at all. I have a OS X 10.6.8 and I want the pages application so I can get some school work done. In the App Store it says a requirement for Pages is like a OS X 10.7 or later. How exactly am I supposed to get Pages?

Pages via the App Store requires 10.7.4 or later, so it cannot be used with Snow Leopard. If your computer meets system requirements then you might install Pages after upgrading to Lion.
Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
If you need to purchase Lion contact Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download.
As an alternative you could look for the older boxed set of iWork that came on DVD. These will work with Snow Leopard. Or you could try the freeware suite, Libre Office.
