i have a pavilion dv6704nr laptop, i need to install the sound in windows xp 64 bit , and not get the drivers

Make sure you've installed other MediaSmart software first and then install HP MediaSmart SmartMenu last of all. You can find all the MediaSmart software available for your machine under the sub-heading 'Software - Multimedia' on the following link.

Go to the link below.Enter your Product Number as listed on Service Tag attached to bottom of notebook (may be under battery). You can also get the Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key. After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers.On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & Save the latest Audio driver.

HP Pavilion dv6, a reboot of window 7, have all but no sound??

Got the lapy secondhand, it had been mistreated, some keys not working bah bah.. anyway windows was slow & stalling so I reasoned a reboot will help.. After a reboot had all but no sound,, it's there bit faint as.. have done all the normal expected stuff uninstall, let windows find the drivers, gone lonking myself ... but windows keeps telling me I have the right drivers & there is sound if you put a ear within 2" of the lapy... so what am I missing?? Input would be good .

Ok I have checked other post here & from replys from DavidPK in one I have kicked up what sound I had.. I have done all DavidPK has siad in the other post ... BUT umm still sound at 1/3 of what it should be?? So any other help would be better than none..Cheers

Hi. I Have a Pavilion dv9000 with Vista Ultimate 64. It has always had very low volume and I find I generally have to have the volume up into the 70's 80's as well as the onscreen media player slider almost full - which then gets all distorted - and then have to turn it down again when not using the player as the computer error beeps come screaming out., Ive checked the settings on speakers to make sure all are the same & balanced and also have updated any codecs as needed. Is there a sound lever setting elsewhere?

Well @ 1333Mhz I was using the rated timings 9-9-9-24 (as per Corsair) but it wasn't very stable as I said.
I have since changed the FSB/RAM ratio to get 1066Mhz and it seemed much happier. (@1.5v) It would be nice to run the RAM at it's rated setting but my OC skills aren't that extensive. I imagine it would need alot of tweeking? Or could I have just relaxed the timings a bit?
Would removing the Switch Cards make any difference?

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Please check it using these steps:
1. Right click the iocon speaker (bootom right hand side)
2. Select "Recording Devices"
3. Enable the microphone

As per the error it shows that the Recovery partition on the unit is corrupted. Please contact HP Technical support and order for the set off Recovery Disc.
