I have already stated my concerns above. I have talked with all people at the HP office. I have talked to four tech. I was told that my problems would be fixed and this computer would be almost like new. What I want now is for them to just delete my subscription and waive that 70 they say they will charge me if I delete before one year. I was told that if they can not
fix my problems after the senior tech worked on it, that this might be a possibility. Goodness, I was willing to send the entire thing to them to see if in fact it has a default in the computer itself. But fthey would charge me 400 dollars to do that. So if anyone out ther is looking to get a new HP be sure that it works as soon as you get it and if not get it back to the store. I only wish I had.

Can setting power output level at 65mw cause a one year old router to fail?
Recently my router WRT54GS v2.1 that is only one year old but has been in 24/7 service failed and the technician that worked on it said the failure was probably due to the power output level being set at 65mw and other firmware settings ( particulars available ) that had been used but were working fine to provide wireless service. The output was fed to a Smart Amp 500mw power amplifier with Automatic Gain Control then through 30 feet of 400 cable to an Omni-directional 14 dbi antenna. Coincidentally the power amp seemed to fail at the same time. The maximum input to the Smart Amp which has AGC is 23dBm (200mw) max. Is it possible that the firmware configuration and the 65mw setting were responsible for the failure of either or both devices?
If the ABS and Router/Modem are both giving IP Addresses out, (that's what tells everything on the Network where to send/get stuff to/from), then everything gets confused... a bit like trying to get US Mail delivered when your street has 2 names, and your abode has the same address as other houses on the block!
You just want the ABS to pass on the IP addies that the Router hands out, and not try to do it itself.
If your base station is connected to a router or other network device that is using NAT to share a single Internet connection with multiple computers on your network, and you are using DHCP to provide private IP addresses, you need to turn off NAT and DHCP on the AirPort base station.
Most networks need only one device using NAT and DHCP to provide IP addresses.
To turn off NAT and DHCP:
Open AirPort Admin Utility, select your base station, and click Configure.
Click Network and deselect the "Distribute IP addresses" checkbox.
If your base station supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), by default the "Distribute IP addresses" checkbox is not selected, and the base station is not using NAT or DHCP.
With NAT and DHCP turned off, the base station acts as a simple bridge between the wired and wireless computers on the network. -

I think you can get Windows 7 for around $99. Install the 64bit version as the 32bit version will not be able to use all your new computer's ram if you have more than about 3.5gb.
Back up your quick books data now before the old hard drive dies. You can copy your data over to your new installation of Windows and quick books.

I have a one year old Macbook Air 13. I have a brand new 22" external monitor. In turning the Macbook and monitor on, the monitor displays very well, but within a few minutes it begins this incessant blinking (temporary black out of the screen that lasts anywhere from 1-5 seconds). This has been going on for a long time (it also happended with my older monitor which apparantly I threw out when I should have kept it thinking it was the problem). From reading various blogs in the Apple support community, this appears to be a widespread problem, but I don't find a solution, only a lot of speculation. I'm very surprised the Apple folks haven't figured this out. As a new Apple user, heretofor, I have been very impressed with the support and effort to get fixes out to users. This, however, has me frustrated to the point of junking my Mac and going back to a PC. I love the Macbook Air and most of the functionality, but I cannot function without an external monitor. Your dsplay is getting extended onto the external monitor. Chcnage the setting to duplicate it or only display on the external monitor and you should be fine,

Optical drive on iMac at work, barely one year old, won't read CD's....disc utilities shows disc unavailable! Rarely used and out of warranty, what a rip off!! I have been on MACS since the 80's and things are getting more and more difficult to deal with. Why did it quit after barely being used? Any help from Apple?
It depends on what you mean by "barely one year old". If the iMac is only a couple of days out of warranty, Apple's been known to make exceptions and extend the warranty, though it's by no means guaranteed. If it's several days or more out of warranty, then Apple will fix it, if it's a hardware problem, but the repair won't be free. This is no different now then it would have been with a Mac purchased back in the 80s.
Why the drive failed, if indeed it has, is impossible to say. Could have been a static shock, a weak component that failed when power was applied, or a mechanical fault in one of the tiny parts used in optical drives and hard drives that finally broke.

Do you have OS x 10.8 Mountain Lion, any earlier OS such as Lion will NOT mirror. It is not an update it is a purchase from the app store.
Third party apps such as airparrot or reflectorapp can help too.

I have an iPad mini that is exactly one year old. I plugged it in to charge it. The next morning it ws completely dead. I can't get it to come on no matter what I try. I have tried a different cable to see if my cable was faulty, but that id not resolve the issue. No matter what I try, I can not get it to power on.
