I have a hd pc computer with 20 yrs of pictures. I just bought an Ipad. I wanter to put some pictures on the Ipad from the pc. I read Ipad for dummies telling me how easy it is to put pictures on the Ipad. What they didn't say was how hard it is to get them off of the pad. I now have 659 pictures, taking up space on my Ipad.
If anybody can show me step by step deleting these pictures I would be very happy.

You delete them the same way you put them on your iPad, by connecting your iPad to your computer, opening iTunes, clicking on the name of your iPad in iTunes, click on the Photos tab at the top, unchecking the photos you don't want on your iPad (either uncheck individual folders or to remove them all, uncheck "Sync Photos"), then click Apply at the bottom to sync your iPad.

I have a proper mailing list created as the manual says. It's a small group of contacts that exist in the address book. I do not type them as CC I just write "clients" and before I finish the word the name of the list appears.
How can I stop Avast from scanning out going mail? It's the free version and I haven't found a real solution. I also tried to totally turn off the "mail shield" but I kept facing the same issues. However, I just turned it off and tried to send the mail, I didn't restart windows or thunderbird
The idea with ipage server was fantastic! It would never come to my mind!!! As far as I see, the limit is 250 mails per hour. I doubt if I have ever reached the 50% of it. I also don't reach the bandwith limits... Besides that, if I had exceeded the limit I would get multi responses that "mail was not delivered".
I want to thank you both for your excellent help so far. I'm sad to say that I still haven't solved the issue. When I made smaller lists, with the same addresses chosen from the address book I could send the messages, having a short delay. I would blame Avast but I tried the same on another laptop with my favourite NOD32 and had the same problem.
What else should I check? Should I focus on Avast?

Ivon, when you are satisfied that you have successfully imported the new folders to the iPad you can go back (as I have described above) and delete the originals of those you copied out in order to avoid 'duplication' and also save space.
The method I have described also has advantages over creating new albums within the Photos app on the iPad since it 'duplicates' the photos and only permits the deletion of all so called copies. King_Penguin is correct when he states you can copy out photos originally taken with the iPad etc.

Time Machine is not a good way to do that, when it eventually needs more room it deletes old Backups to make room.
If you really want to keep Files but remove them from the Internal Drive, then I'd get another external drive to copy or clone them to that is not used for TM.

You remove them by using itunes on your computer with your phone attached. Click on the photo tab and uncheck the folders your previousy synced and then sync again

With a Windows computer, when you connect the iPhone to the computer via the USB while there are pictures in the Camera Roll, Autorun should start just like it would if you connected a digital camera. When this happens, select Import pictures using Windows. This will open the Import picture box, you can then tag the photos if you want and then import them to the computer. Once you start to Import, there will be a box you can check that will delete the photos from the iPhone once they have been imported.
If Autorun does not start, you can open Computer. You should see the iPhone and you can right-click on the iPhone and select Import and everything else will be the same.

When I download pictures from my digital camera into iPhoto, they turn out a nice large size (usually almost the full screen), but when somebody e-mails me pictures and I import them into iPhoto, or when I transfer old photos from an old library into my new iPhoto library, they turn out very small--not exactly thumbnail-size, but too small to use for calendars or photo books. I don't know much about computers, so I don't know how this happened. Also, I can't find any discernible pattern to why this happens with some pictures and not others--ie: what I described above is usually true, but I have had e-mailed photos or old photos turn out the way I want them, which is in the larger size in iPhoto. Why is this happening, and how can I make all the pictures the larger size?

Some mail programs, including Apple Mail, can reduce the size of images that are attached to a message. It's happening at the sender's end, and all you can do is ask the sender for a larger image.
