I have a problem 4GS w/IOS 6

I was recently using the photo app. It has locked up with the shutter closed and the flash permanently on. I have turned off the app but the flash stayers on. I have powered down but the flash stays on. I have tried a hard off holding down the home key and power key simultaneously, phone shuts down but flash stays on. Obviously the battery runs down quickly. For a brief period during one of these off periods the flash dimmed, then blinked at an irregular rate for about 5 minutes, but now is back on in a dim mode continuously.

put it on the charger.
hold Power button and the Home button at the same time, keep holding, until you see the white apple logo then let go, and let it start completely.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Last time I updated my iPhone 4 to the IOS 7 it killed my phone for 3 days, when I called apple they said they were having a bunch of problems with the IOS 7, I was just wondering if they are having the same problems with the IOS 7.0.2

I did my upgrade to 7.02 from 7.0 today. It didn't take very long but I learnt a long time ago that a "watched kettle never boils".
So make sure you do an icloud back-up at least andthen go ahead with the 7.02..and go do something else for awhile.

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.

OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options

I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated.

The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates.How can I fix this?

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.
