I have a problem saving an edited photo

After editing a photo it won't save in photoshop but does save it on the hard drive. Anyone know why?

When I am working in photoshop elements (4), I edit a photo, tell it to save (I check the boxes save in version set and include in the organizer) and when it finishes saving the changes it doesn't show the edited version. When I pull up the pictures on the hard drive, the changes are there but they aren't showing up in photoshop. I have done thousands of pictures the same way and they have always come up edited in photoshop and all of a sudden it doesn't work.

Hi. I have a problem with external editing preferences. If I add Photoshop as an external editor, it won't launch when selected, if I add it as an additional external editor it will. Why? How can I fix this as I need to use Photoshop and another program as the additional external editor.

I don't know why Photoshop won't start. However, it's possible to create external editor presets using the additional external editor tools. There are instructions on how to do this in the Lightroom help. You could assign Photoshop and create one preset, and then assign another program and create another preset.
I don't know if deleting your preferences would fix the problem or not. It can sometimes fix other problems.

Problems saving/reimporting edited PPT slides back into Cap5/Mac

Greetings, folks - 25 year Mac veteran here, new to this forum and Adobe products but an Apple Certified Pro w/emphasis on audio & video, experiencing some disappointment with Captivate 5/Mac's inability to integrate with PowerPoint as advertised. I'm building a fairly straightforward presentation, making basic edits & changes to the .pptx and when the changes are saved and re-imported back into Captivate, they either fail to appear, or appear only in part. In the interest of time, I'm having to work around by taking screen shots of the updated ppt slides and inserting them as images, over the Captivate slides which have failed to take the edits & updates. FYI, running OSX 10.6.4, Captivate 5.0.0.596, Powerpoint 2008 for Mac v. 12.2.6 (100708) in case it matters. Very grateful for any suggestions or assistance...thanks again, cheers!

Bump...anyone at Adobe, want to at least admit publicly that this is a 'known issue', or shall I just bill you for my testing time on an incomplete product?

After saving an edited photo in Elements

When I later look at C dirve/My Pictures, all of the thumbnails are the Adobe logo instead of the edited photo. Am I missing a step that would make the thumbnails the updated photo?

There isn't a plugin for Windows 7 so that it can display an icon for a .psd file which is why you see the pse icon. This is another reason to use the organizer to manage your images.
When you used "Save As" did you select the format from the dropdown list?
I tend to leave off the extension when typing in the name a just let PSE fill it in.

Having problems saving a processed photo in CS3 & bridge

I have all of a sudden encountered a problem that when I process a photo in CS3 bridge and try to save it (no matter where) the photo reverts back to its non processed form. I then have to go back and reopen it in bridge, click on the default and then click done on the bottom of the screen.

exact terms and steps you've followed. For instance:

How? What does this mean? Are you working off your memory card?
>Open bridge make corrections and then save it to a folder on my desktop.
What kinds of corrections? Is this still a .jpg file?
>The photo is corrected when it enters the folder
How does a photo "enter" a folder?
>In order to get it back to the processed image i have to click on the default button on the bridge raw screen everytime I reopen the image.
What "default" button? What does it say? Where is it?

But how does it look in or print from Photoshop? Are the raw editing sliders in their default positions or are they as you've set them?

Problems with rotating/editing photos trans from ipad to pc

Have been trying to transfer photos taken on ipad to my pc That bit is OK But whether i transfer individually via email or via the photo transfer app the pictures are all rotated automatically in the pc and nothing I have tried will allow me to save any amendments I thought it was because I had uploaded from photostream but have re-uploaded the photos from the photoalbum but still having problems it seems to default to landscape setting Any suggestions for correcting this problems? Had the exact problem. Many pictures I took with my iphone or iPad would be rotated in photostream and I could not rotate them back to the correct orientation. I tried emailing them, saving them under a different name, etc. I decided to open the pictures up in Adobe Photoshop. For some reason when it opens in photoshop the picture is oriented correctly. I then clicked on "Save As" from the FILE dropdown menu and saved the picture back to the same folder with the same name with the difference being that I saved it as a JPEG file. It will ask if you want to overwrite the original. Say yes to both the windows that appear. Once it is saved back into the photostream file the picture was corrected. I did this with all of the rotated pictures and they were all fixed. Hope this helps.

When I use Digital Photo Pro I have no problem to save my photos on a disc for use on my TV. But...

But when I use Lightroom5 or PSE11 it don't work if I edit the pictures. Whituot changes it works. Why???

Possibly when you have finished editing them you are saving them in a format not recognised by your TV (probably Adobe's own PSD format). You might also want to save an extra copy of the edited file in JPG format, most TV's recognise JPGs.

Saving an edited photo - bug?

Ive created an album, copied in some photos from photostream and now I'm editing them. Some of the photos allow me to just save over the current photo whereas other photos require me to save as a new photo in my camera roll... Is this a bug? I cannot seem to find a rule as to what works.

Yes, the photo does display when I double click the hour glass. I can delete that hour glass (the edited version) but the initial photo also displays an hour glass. Double clicking on that also displays the actual photo.

Do I have the right software to edit photos?

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 11, I am having trouble getting to the screen that has the tabs at the top to edit the photos. There is a quick edit on the right. What am I missing?

Use Adobe photoshop Elements.
Premeire elements is for editing videos not photo's.

Before you try this, make a copy of your complete project folder, just in case. I've never had a problem, but better safe than sorry . .
Highlight your project folder in the finder, and press command-I.
Look at what it says in "Sharing and Permissions" near the bottom. Make sure that you, and, admin (if that's also you) have Read and Write Permission. i also give read and write permission to "Everyone" You'll have to click on the "+" button at bottom left each time you want to add (or delete) a user.
Now click the padlock at bottom right - you'll need to enter your system username and password.
Click-Hold the cogwheel icon near bottom left and release on"Apply to enclosed items". you'll be prompted to confirm . .
Try launching your ptoject again.
this has got my out of similar problems many a time

Problems when syncing edited photos from iPhoto to iPad

First, I edited some photos in an event in iPhoto on my mac, then I sync that event to my iPad. After syncing, the photos in my iPad library are unedited. What is the matter? Why those photos are unedited? Thanks!

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

Acrobat Reader can't edit PDF files. Use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

when i edit a photo using the editor and finish i go into file and use save as to save as a jpeg copy. it keeps me at psd. how do i save a photo as a copy jpeg so i can retain the oroginal..

Problems saving Videos and Photos on IPHOTO (IMAC)

This is about the fourth time I've had my camera spazz out. This afternoon I downloaded my camera roll (little over 300 photos) to iPhoto and deleted the originals. Then discovered my new photos were not being saved. When I go into my camera roll to review there are just white squares.
It's extremely aggravating but I just restored and set up my Cannon Camara.
Y can t losse this material=. It' s extremely important for me. Work Stuff !!!

Here's some tips:
Patience. The people who repsond here are all volunteers giving of their time for nothing. Courtesy helps too.
Clarity: "spazz out" is not a term I recognise. Can you explain it - ideally not using slang terms. You get more help when people can understand what you're saying.
Ignore irrelevant information. How you feel about it is of no interest.
