I have a problem submitting a podcast,

The feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/SovietUnionRedArmy  Feed validator says it is valid but itunes says cannot download episodes, please can anyone help me? Thanks

You are submitting the same URL you originally posted? This can be subscribed to manually in iTunes and both episodes show, so I don't know why you are getting this error.
There are some minor errors in the feed but they shouldn't cause a serious problem. Your episodes have no titles (on subscribing, iTunes is using the filename).
Your filenames have spaces in them: spaces are not allowed in a URL. The feed is handling this correctly by substituting the code %20 for each space, so it's working OK, but it's bad practice and I would recommend avoiding it.
I should correct the title issue, give it a day or so, and try again - it might just be a temporary glitch, but as I say I can't see any obvious reason for it.

  • Anyone have a problem submitting podcast to a personal domain with iWeb 08?

I created a new website with several podcasts and published fine to a personal domain. Works great. When I try to submit the podcasts to iTunes through iWeb I get the following error message:
"We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code:401"
Anyone else get this? Is the personal domain messing with the feed?
    Any help appreciated.

Well... I have mine from godaddy...
In iWeb06 the redirect was a long URL... now it's shorter (or so it seems).
GoDaddy still handles the redirect - like it did before.
The change happens in the CSS scripting (HTML?) where iWeb thought it needed to send the RSS to www.threeboysproductions.com it wasn't taking in iTunes.
Forcing iWeb to rewrite the RSS script to web.mac.com/captmench.
People wanting to go to www.tbp.com still can... and see it as such. The subscribe at iTunes won't matter.
    Good luck,

  • Problems submitting a podcast

    Hi all,
I have been trying to submit my podcast to the iTunes store now for two months. I am able to submit it using my rss feed: http://dalydose.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
But when I try to validate my feed I get this error:
This feed does not validate. line 38, column 6: Undefined item element: itunes:order
Any idea what I need to do to get this fixed?
Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no problem with your feed. I assume you've been using FeedValidator - this flags 'itunes:order' as invalid because it's a recently added tag and it's not caught up with it. The feed can be subscribed to in iTunes where it works OK.
However, it will be rejected if submitted to the iTunes Store because your media files (or at least the one I checked, the top one) are set to force a download. If you enter the URL in a browser such as Safari it should play within the browser. Instead it downloads to your download destination. This won't work in the Store, where the file is streamed. You need to set Podomatic not to force a download in the case of each file.

  • Problem submitting my podcast

    I am SO frustrated!!! ugh.
I am having trouble posting my podcast.
I'm going to http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html then clicking on 'submit a podcast'
I then enter my feed. the button that says 'continue' doesn't work when I put my mouse over it. But if I hit the enter key, it does take me to the next screen.
first problem: itunes is not picking up the most recent changes I made to my description
BIGGER PROBLEM: when I try to submit the podcast even though the description is wrong, nothing happens. The 'submit' button doesn't work nor does the enter key, absolutely nothing happens. nothing happens. I have had this problem for weeks.
    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    The relevant tag says:
    <itunes:image href="http://brianspod1.podomatic.com/images/pcast240.jpg"/>
and the image linked to is 240 x 240 px.
You have a suitably sized image within the 'item' tag but the tag in the top section of the feed is the one that matters.

  • I need help with a problem submitting my podcasts to iTunes

When I submit my podcast from iWeb to iTunes, iTunes asks for the URL link which is already filled in. When I press the "Continue" button I get the same response over and over again --
"We experienced a timeout connecting to this feed at this time. Read timed out."
Anyone have any ideas?!? I validated my feed and created everything in iLife. I can use iTunes to subscribe to my own podcasts at my site at:

  • HT3311 Problem submitting podcast (hosted on GoDaddy) to i Tunes Store - host parameter null

Why do I get following reply from iTunes Store when I attempt to publish my podcast:
"We had difficulty reading this feed. Host parameter is null." ?
    This is my podcast website:
    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ars_et_Medicina/Podcast/Podcast.html
I have validated the following feed with Feed Validator.  It is ok.  (there are some minor suggestions for changes which should not be criical)
    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ars_et_Medicina/Podcast/rss.xml
When I write this feed URL in the box for suscribing to podcasts in ITunes  (Advanced/Suscribe to podcast menues),  iTunes finds my podcasts and downloads them successfully (and fast).  All the podcasts downloaded that way work fine.
So, if the rss reed is validated, and works in iTunes,  why am I not able to publish my podcasts in iTunes Store?
My hosting service is GoDaddy.com.   I see from other articles on this support forum (Apple) and on GoDaddy´s support forum, that other people have had the same problem.   Sometimes their problem apparently just disappeared (and iTunes Store finally just stopped writing "We had difficulty reading this feed.  Host parameter is null"  everytime they tried to submit their podcasts to iTunes.  I have now tried submitting this and other podcasts (hosted on GoDaddy) many, many times for several days, but always get the same irritating negative message.
Does anyone out there understand what the problem could be?   As far as I can see from reading other descriptions of this same problem, no one has yet provided an adequate explanation of what is causing this "glitch" (as some call it).
I want to publish several podcast series on iTunes Store which are now hosted on GoDaddy.com.   Many other MobileMe users like me, will in the next 30 days have to move their websites from MobileMe to other hosting services.   GoDaddy.com is a large hosting service.   This problem might appear often during the next month.  I therefore believe that Apple and GoDaddy should attempt to find out why this problem occurs, and do something about it.   It seems from other descriptions of this problem, that it often occurs with people using GoDaddy hosting service.  Have not read or analyzed all descriptions of this problem on the net, but there are enough descriptions to support a hypothesis that there is some communication difficulty between iTunes Store and GoDaddy hosting service. (? - at least some others have made this hypothesis, like I do)

TEST OF SUBMISSION OF 16 RSS FEEDS TO ITUNES STORE "SUBMIT PODCAST" PAGE
I have now tested all my podcast rss feeds which are now stored on GoDaddycom hosting service in three ways:
    1) Feed validator
    2) iTunes (Menu: Advanced/suscribe to podcast)
    3) iTunes Store "Submit Podcast Page"
    Results:
All 16 rss feeds are valid according to Feed Validator.  There are some small insignifcant suggestions for improvements which are not critical.
All 16 rss feeds function in iTunes (Advanced/suscribe to podcasts)
None of the 16 rss feeds can be successfully submitted to iTunes Store "submit podcast" page.  The same error occurs in all cases:
"We had difficulty reading this feed. host parameter is null"
The following 5 of these 16 podcasts were submitted while the websites were hosted by MobileMe.  No problems with submission.  All accepted and now on iTunes.  These podcast sites are now transferred to GoDaddy.com (with same domain as earlier  - einarpetterson.org - and all function.  I can change pages, make alterations etc.
Here are the 5 rss feeds.

The following 11 podcasts now hosted on GoDaddy webhosting service can not be submitted successfully to iTunes Store despite the fact that their rss feeds are validated by Feed Validator and work on iTunes (and probably on most  other rss readers)

THIS PROBABLY MEANS THAT IT IS EITHER VERY DIFFICULT, OR IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE WHO IS USING GODADDY.COM AS A WEBHOSTING SERVICE (WITHOUT USING THEIR VIRTUAL OR DEDICATED SERVER OPTIONS WHICH ARE VERY EXPENSIVE) TO PUBLISH ANY PODCASTS ON ITUNES STORE.
I may have made some error in my submission to ITunes Store, but do not think so.  If anyone discovers that I have made a simple and stupid error, please tell me.  If I have not made an error, one should probably not use GoDaddy.com as a webhosting service if one ever wants to publish podcasts to iTunes Store.
It would be interesting to hear if anyone in this forum who is using GoDaddy.com webhosting service has recently (or ever) managed to succesfully submit a rss feed to iTunes Store submit page.  If so, I would like to hear about it.

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. My problem is I can not access any application to download music, videos, books, etc..
ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country.  Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.

Since updating to OS5 I cannot open downloaded podcasts and can't confirm if they have actually been downloaded. They appear in the "more" list in iTunes music, but won't play. I hear others have this problem but what is the solution ?

    Install the Flex:Player App;  http://itunes.apple.com/app/flex-player/id451024857?alreadyRedirected=1&mt=8
Then you can open the movies, keep tapping on them and choose Open in Flex:Player.

  • Hi,l bought my ipad from uk and got my ID using my turkish credit card. I have a problem using itunes.bottom of the page l have got podcasts, itunes u,downloads. Thats all l have got. Is it coz l have used my turkish cc?

    Hi,
I have a problem with itunes.l have registered it but l still can not use. When l click on itunes l have got podcasts, itunes u,downloads on the bottom of the page.l can not see any musics or anything. I ve bought it from uk and used my turkish credit card. Is it because turkish credit card? Pls l need help

The content owners do not allow the iTunes Store to sell across country borders, so you must have a credit card and residence in the country whose iTunes Store you wish to use. Since you live in Turkey and have a Turkish credit card, that's the only iTunes Store you can use, and as has been pointed out, Apple has not been able to obtain the rights to sell music, movies and shows there. That's the nature of the entertainment business at this time, where the rights in each country are held by separate entities and hence require completely separate negotiations.
Sorry, but there's nothing you can so about this. You'll need to see if there are download stores in Turkey available to you, and if not you'll need to purchase CDs, DVDs, etc.
    Regards.

  • HELP!! "timed out" submiting video podcast through iweb to itunes

I am trying to submit a vid podcast through iweb to itunes and am getting a timed out message. Please help. I have read other posts similar to my problem, and have checked to see that all of my fields are filled in. Don't know what the deal is. thanks for the help.

This is what I received from iTunes help:
    Dear Eric,
The iTunes team reviews each podcast submission. Depending on demand,
it may take a week or two before the podcast is published.
I'm sorry to hear you received an error when you tried to publish a
podcast to the iTunes Store. If you are re-submitting a podcast for
review, the iTunes Store may detect the submission as a duplicate and
generate an error message stating that the feed has already been submitted.
You can follow these steps to resubmit the podcast:
    1) Change the title and link fields of the RSS feed to something other
    than what they are now.
    2) Resubmit the podcast feed via iTunes.
    3) Once you have successfully submitted the podcast, you can change the
title and link fields back to what they were.
There are several less-common reasons iTunes might have displayed this
    error:
    * The podcast's RSS feed was not available.
    * The podcast's RSS feed timed out.
    * The podcast's RSS feed could not be validated.
If you are the podcaster, make sure your podcast is available on the
Internet. Your podcast's RSS feed also should conform to the iTunes
    extended podcast RSS specification.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html
If you're still having trouble, consider consulting the Apple
Discussions forums, which have a wealth of information about specific issues.
Click Producing Podcasts in the Pro Digital Production area of this page:
    http://discussions.apple.com
If you are not the podcaster, please contact the podcaster and direct
    them to our specification.
Thank you for your interest in the iTunes Store. Have a great day.
    Sincerely,
    Nicole

  • There was an error submitting your podcast

We have installed Podcast Producer 2 on a demo 10.6.2 server. We are able to use Podcast Capture directly on the server and podcasts are produced and able to be accessed through the Podcast library.
But when attempting to use Podcast Capture on a 10.5.8 client, after logging in and recording the podcast, when publishing we get the following message from Podcast Capture:
"There was an error submitting your podcast"
Some things I have noticed from the Server Logs:

How do I change my server so that it uses the FQDN "demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us" everywhere instead of sometimes using the local hostname demomaster.local.
It appears this is a DNS issue. We have set the hostname using scutil and running changeip -checkhostname shows
    Current HostName = demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
    DNS HostName = demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
The names match. There is nothing to change.
    dirserv:success = "success"
nslookup on the ip shows that the reverse is working and pointing to the FQDN.
Computer Name in Server admin is set to: demomaster.nobl.k12.in.us
Local Hostname is set to: demomaster
but under the podcast Producer overview screen in Server Admin our Podcast Library and Capture URL both show http://demomaster.local:port instead of the FQDN.
    How do we change this?
    Thanks again.

  • Timeout error when submitting feedburner podcast feed to itunes

This is my first time submitting my podcast to itunes, I have created the feed with feedburner and I can manually subscribe and download the podcast in itunes however when i try to submit the feed I recieve the generic timout error, see below. I have tried for several days with different machines to no avail. Any suggestions?
    Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThePortcast
    Thanks in advance.

The feed appears to be OK; sometimes individual servers can behave oddly with the Store but as yours is a Feedburner feed there shouldn't be any problem, so there is no obvious reason why this is happening.
You could try the allternative submission URL:
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
If that doesn't work one possibility is that there is a problem at the Store end, which does happen though it doesn't usually go on for several days. You could try emailing support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but I have to say that you likely won't get a helpful answer. Otherwise I can only suggest giving it a day or two and trying again.

  • Re-submitting my podcast feed after it has been deleted dosen't work?

    Hi
I had recently submitted a podcast feed for my company. However I made a mistake in asking to have it deleted so I could make some changes.
Now having completely revised my understanding of how the feed works, I have now re-submitted my feed:
    http://www.shogunaudio.co.uk/podcast.xml
When the podcast was up before it ran fine, and was very popular. My feed is valid, I can subscribe using the 'advanced - subscribe to podcast' in iTunes. But for some reason it won't register. I have re-submitted the same feed 3 times and I don't get a 'duplicate feed' warning, it just says that it is submitted and I will be getting an email, but nothing happens.
I desperately want to get this up and running asap, what is wrong here?
    Thanks

I can't really say what is going on, but I don't think submitting from another account or changing the IP number will have any effect. Normally in this situation you should change the title slightly, and also rename the feed - as I suggested, you could call it podcast1.xml (so that the URL changes) - these are the parameters affecting it. The only other possibility I can think of is that you have managed to introduce some problem into the feed which is causing it not to be accepted (though if you can subscribe from the 'Advanced' menu this seems unlikely).
Would you like to post the URL of the revised feed?

  • Submitted my podcast (The Maggy Thump Show) to itunes a month ago, haven't heard from them. Is this typical? Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello! I submitted my podcast (The Maggy Thump Show) to Itunes about a month ago, I
haven't received any correspondence yet. Is this typical? Please help! Any information,
suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks

Hey braswell4AU: I have a similar issue. I purchased 2 iPhone 5's the first day they came out. Black 64gb for myself and white 32gb for my wife. She is having somewhat the same issues as you have. Wifi is weak and keeps dropping the signal, and also her phone almost never has LTE. And we are in a very strong Verizon LTE area in north Los Angeles county. My phone has never had any signal issues, wifi or LTE. I have been researching the issue to no avail. I though maybe the white with the brushed alluminum may cause signal issues, but haven't found anything on that and posts about the black one haven't problems blew that theory up.
I have also changed the SIM card and the phone itself and still the same problem. I saw a post about someone getting their phone swapped out and the apple rep told him not to restore the phone, but to just set it up as new. I have yet to try it, gonna try this weekend.. But it makes sense! I, like you have 6 apple devices (2 iPhone 5's, 2 iPhone 4's apple tv3, and the ipad3) and have no issues running all my devices via router.
So I am thinking about the history of the restores and backups and my wife is the only one that went from the 4 to the 5.. Every other device was setup as new. So my theory is that he iphone 5 has issues when you restore from previous backups.. Maybe something a little different from the backups of the previous models create issues in the iPhone 5's?
Like I said, I'm going to give it a shot this weekend and see what happens. If you get a chance to try this before, please let me know if it works and if I try before you I will update you.
Good luck and hopefully we can get these wonderful phones working like they should!
      Nate
