I have a problem with deownloading new OS.

I'm having trouble downloading the new OS on my netbook for my iPod Touch. The update seems to download fine until it gets to the end of the download and it looks like its going to load it to the iPod, but then it gives me a message saying network has timed out. Everytime at the end of the download it does this. Anyone else experiencing this same problem?

On Windows machines, this is usually caused by your anti-virus software. Turn it off for the download.

Ok, Orange Romania changed my iPad mini but now I have another problem.
I bought the iPad mini on 01/feb/2013, took it to service on 06/feb/2013, and got another ipad mini on 12/feb/2013.

I have a 64GB iPad Air WiFi+Cellular (Verizon), and I don't see the issues you are describing. First I would suggest that you update your iPad to the newest iOS update. If that doesn't help, then you may want to schedule an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar. If you go this route, I suggest that you let the iPad sleep for long enough for the problem to arise before you go to your appointment.

It sounds like your sleep timers are set to too low of a value. Go to System Preferences -> Energy Saver and set both timers to longer times. The computer sleep timer should be a longer time than the display sleep timer.

I have burshaced a new battery just two days a go.
My new battery is:
hp 12-cell multi-charge extended battery (ks527aa)
In its specifications I have found that it works up to 8 houers, it worked with me just for 3 houers befoe it needed to recharge!!
My labtop is Hp dv6 2170ee.
Is there any problems with my new battery?!!

Notice the "up to"....you can get 8 hours if the laptop is asleep and you don't use it but if you actually use it and espescially if you use wireless and have the screen on full bright, 3 hours is very good for a full-sized powerful laptop. Run it down to 20% and recharge it a few times to let Windows calibrate the battery and the run time will stretch a bit, but 5 hours is a home run and 3.5 hours is acceptable on that class of laptop. Here are a few tricks you can use to stretch the battery as far as possible:

in order for me to dial or use the keypad, i have to press the end key before dialing any numbers and then to remove the numbers and the dialing bar, i have to clear all the numbers manually by press the C button then i can press the end key to take off the dialing bar. another problem i have is that when i put my profile on silent, the phone doesn't vibrate the screen and lights only flash like they normally do. has anyone else had this problem? im guessing there are more flaws with the new update but im still looking into it.

[SOLVED][GRUB]Install problem with the new method

it is not my first install of Arch Linux but I have a problem with this new kind of installation method, especially with GRUB.
Here is my hard drives configuration :
/dev/sda1 -> SSD 120 GB ntfs (windows)
/dev/sdb1 -> HD 1 TB ext4 (data)
/dev/sdc :
/dev/sdc1 -> ext2 /boot
/dev/sdc2 -> swap
/dev/sdc3 -> ext4 /
/dev/sdc5 -> ext4 /home
During the installation, I installed grub (with grub-install) in /dev/sdc. I assumed it was the correct drive to install it but apparently not, Windows starts automatically and I don't have the grub menu.
Should I install my system again or is there a way to boot on the livecd and install it ?
Should I :
1) mount /dev/sdc3 in /mnt then /dev/sdc1 in /mnt/boot and finally /dev/sdc5 in /mnt/home
2) pacstrap /mnt grub-bios
3) arch-chroot
4) grub-install

The problem is that I cannot select another hard drive. The only one available for the boot order is the Samsung 830 series (/dev/sda with Windows).
The other options are the CD drive and removable disk.
I checked that this morning, maybe I was too tired. I will check again this evening.
But if I am right and I cannot select my intel SSD (containing my arch setup) for the boot order, would the solution I described work ? I don't see why not but my knowledge are basic in Linux.

Problems with installing new programs

Dear all,
since the update to OS X Yosemite, I have some problems with installing new programs.
I tried to install the Fitbit App to connect my Fitbit to my Mac but the program can't be started after installation. I have the same problem with Blackberry Blend, too. I am able to install it but it doesn't start running.
Does anybody have an idea what's the problem?

It was working fine - I was using LR and a message came on the screen that said something like the memory was dangerously low. I stopped and tried to delete LR files. I couldn't do it. I closed the program and tried reopening and got the message that there is not enough memory available to open LR. I contacted Apple. They spent a half hour on the phone with me and eventually told me they didn't know how to help. The tech said that LR had gobbled up all the memory and said I should contact Adobe and ask where and how my photo files are stored and to delete them. I have several back-ups. Thanks - Arthur

This sort of error message only comes up for Lightroom when your hard disk is full. Indeed this has nothing to do with internal memory as that will be intelligently be dealt with. If you have a mac Book Air that is not so surprising as the cheapest versions come with very small hard disks and if you shoot raw with any recent camera, you'll fill up your hard disk very quickly and you can probably only store a few months of pictures if you are a typical photographer. So the bottom line is that you need to create some room on your hard disk. You should move some of your originals to an external hard disk. You can also delete some of your backup copies of your catalog file that Lightroom automatically generates every few days and that quickly gobble up hard disk space. So first figure out how full your hard disk is. To see that, go to the apple menu, hit -> About this Mac -> More info->Storage. You should see your internal hard disk on top and you'll find that it is almost entirely full with photos. Now find your Lightroom catalog file using Finder. It is usually in a folder in the Pictures folder in your home directory. You should see a Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat file, a previews file and a folder called backups. Inside the backups folder, you'll find a lot of subfolders. They have names that show the dates the backups were created. If you have backups of your entire hard disk, you can delete these backups when they are older than a few months. I usually only keep the last 4 around. Just drag the folders into the trash can on the dock on the bottom of your screen and empty the trash. This will probably free up enough space that Lightroom will already run again. Now start thinking about where you will want to store older images. If you have a good USB3 or Thunderbolt hard disk that is probably the best option. Here’s How to Move Images to Another Drive in Lightroom. « Julieanne Kost's Blog If that doesn't work because you don't have enough hard drive space to run Lightroom yet, here is another set of instructions to move your files using the finder to the other hard disk: How do I move only my photos to another hard drive, leaving the catalog where it is? - The Lightroom Queen. If you follow that, as soon as you confirm all your images are on the new hard disk, you can delete them from your internal one. She is not so clear about that part but if you don't delete the originals that you moved off you don't free up space. You should move the folder structure over to the new hard disk and then reconnect the folders in Lightroom. That should make it refind all your images.
That said, if you are uncomfortable with the computer in itself, your best bet is to find a local photography club. There is invariably a Lightroom savvy person in there that could help you move your files. That might be your best bet if you are uncomfortable moving these yourself. A general mac savvy person like you would find at an Apple store or so generally will not be able to help you with this except when they are photographers themselves and know Lightroom. You might get lucky with that.

this is all greek to me. WHAT IS STARTTLS? On the first page of Apple set up there is a TLS certificate and it is marked NONE- should I change it to the long APPLE CERT option? The next page under ADVANCED: THERE IS A BOX SSL MARKED. Then IMAP Path Prefix - I put stmp.gmail.com.. is that right? Port 993 can use this one? as 456 doesn't work and 587 said it wasn't safe. Under AUTHENTICATION I used PASSWORD. Should I have used external client cert TLS?

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)
