Hi,
Yes, looking at the error from the bios test, it looks like you need a new Hard Disk.

    Hi,
If this message is coming up in a black screen.
Then the harddrive in the system is about to go bad or already bad.
If you are able to boot to windows, FIRST BACKUP DATA.
Also run a startup test by tapping F2 as soon as you power on the system.
The smart test is a BIOS feature in most of the computer which is designed to keep cust informed if the HDD is about to go bad. But their are instances where the SMART will only let you know that the HDD is bad only when the HDD has bad.

  • Problems with hard disk

my windows starts upto password screen then freezes indefinitely.after performing hard disk test i got short dst test failedwith failure id RQDL5R-7747N3-XD7V7G-60TM03AND MY PRODUCT ID IS J2C54PA#ACJ

Hi,           The Failure ID refers to Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, where you have to replace the Hard disk drive to get the unit working. Once the Hard disk drive is replaced you can reinstall the Operating system using recovery disk. Part Order from the below link https://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=FA59F7C7DCAC4237B498C91D0507A761

  • Problem with Hard Disk after getting a replacement for a RAM Problem

Ok, so I bought a 17" Macbook pro about a week ago from Apple, then last night it crashed during some relatively processor intensive work and wouldn't boot again. I took it in to the apple store today, they ran diagnositics and it turned out it was a RAM issue, so, very kindly, they gave me a whole new machine with new RAM.
I didn't have time to wait in store for them to transfer my data, so the genius offered to give me the hard disk from my old machine so i could take it away and do the transfer myself (because i live in a different city) using a USB Hard Disk Caddy. I took him up on the offer, and bought the whole lot home with me.
I've just put the drive in an appropriate hard disk caddy and attached it to my machine, but I'm getting an error "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer".
Allegedly the genius chap had already started the transfer when i asked him to leave it for me to do, so i guess he mustn't have had any problems with accessing it, but there's no trace on the new machine that he had been doing anything.
    I guess my question is
    A) is the disk screwed
    and
    B) Did it happen from the initial problem, in the apple store or is it another issue?

This could be caused by a number of different reasons. Is it possible for you to call up Apple and speak with the person whom was helping you?

  • ITouch Get Stuck and after restore problem with hard disk

some days before the stuck my iTouch begin to give me an error when i connect it to iTunes: the sync starting and when was time of backup it said that isn't possible to backup my iPod because it was disconnected (what?!?! it's plugged in and he see it a few second ago!!)
Then the iTouch stop to run
when i try to turn on it stay on the apple (for about 10 minute then it reboot himself with a white flash)
i've tried to plug in but iTunes never see it
So i try to put the iPod in DFU Mode...after a few attemps iTunes reveal it
First i try with 3.1.2 (2 times) but it give me some error such as "memory unavailable"
Then i have downloaded 3.1.3 and all goes well apart a little error on sync iTunes
today i have put into 1400 contacts with itunes in sync with my company and now iTunes give me this error - I can't sync because memory disk was full
    if i go on my iPod -> Setting ->General -> Info -> Space Available -> 0 byte
what file are included in this voice??
    how i can fix it??
there was some problem with my hardware?
    thanks a lot

    Welcome to the discussions,
if you connect your ipod to itunes and look at the colored info bar at the bottom of the window, does it show different colors or just one orange "other" part? As you got errors while syncing, there might be corrupt data files on your ipod filling it up. Try to restore again to get rid of the great orange part. After that the "other" section should be reduced to max. of 500MB or less.

  • Problems with hard disk, but it won't repair

    Hi,
My MacBook Pro has gradually become slow, and it crashes occasionally, especially when multitasking. I verified my hard disk with the Disk Utility, and it told me the following:
    Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
Incorrect block count for file Temp File
(It should be 917 instead of 0)
    Incorrect number of thread records
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking Catalog hierarchy.
    Checking Extended Attributes file.
    Checking volume bitmap.
Volume Bit Map needs minor repair
    Checking volume information.
The volume Macintosh HD needs to be repaired.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
    Volume needs repair
However, in a pop-up it then says the following:
    First Aid failed
Disk Utility stopped verifying "Macintosh HD" because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit.
Any idea what could be wrong and how I could fix it? I find it a bit disconcerting that my Mac crashes. It's not supposed to do that!

In order to repair a startup volume you must boot from another disk. Try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Problems With "hard disk not exist" HP 2000 Notebook PC

one day i was listening to itunes on my computer and it crashed, the screen went blue and wipped out my entire hard drive. Everytime i turn it on the screen goes black and the words "Boot Drive error" "Hard disk not Exist" pops up, i press F2 For "System Diagnostics" and everythings fine exept on the "hard Disk" test it says "error, hard disk not exist" and when i press F11 at the begging it says System recovery, but nothing happens. My computer was not sent with a recovery disk and i cannot access it, is there any way to fix this problem or create a recovery disk for my computer?
    Thanks
    -Drew

Sounds as if your hard drive has failed, not uncommon. If you are still within warranty HP will send a new hdd, if not It can be replaced with a retail SATA laptop hdd. Just take in in with you to the store and ask for suitable replacement.
If you did not burn your Recovery set you can order from HP for a small fee to reinstall Windows on the new hdd.>>Contact HP
******Clicking the Thumbs-Up button is a way to say -Thanks!.******

  • Problem with hard disk space

I don't know what the problem of my macbook pro mid 2010. When I erased a program or files, my hard disk spaces become full but when I installed program or download files my hard disk space diminish. My mac running OS X Maverick 10.9.2.

    Pranyana,
do you regularly make Time Machine backups? If so, then the apparent discrepancy could be explained by the behind-the-scenes creation and deletion of local Time Machine snapshots.

  • Problem with hard disk

With diagnostic test of hard disk, error 305, but my question if i can to take and remove all musics and pictures and videos from hard disk at another pc ?

Maybe, probably, hard to tell until you try. You need a usb to SATA adapter like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Patuoxun-Converter-Adapter-Cable-Drive/dp/B008ASF5MC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=14...
The fact that the drive is still visible to the system is a good sign so it is likely to still spin up when connected externally to another computer.

  • Re: Problems with hard disk on a Satellite A200

    Hello,
I've had my Satellite A200 (PSAE6E) for many years now, and although I cared for it in order to make it last, the hard drive is giving its first signs of failure. The symptoms started to happen a few months ago. The disk will stop working, the system will freeze, and I start hearing a clicking sound coming from the disk. I fear that one of these days it will stop working completely and I cannot afford being without a laptop.
I would like to replace it for a new hard drive or one that is in good condition, but I'm having a hard time finding information on hard drives that are compatible with this model. Could anyone help me with this?
    Thank you,
    Gloom

What you can do is to remove original HDD and order the same one.
What you actually need is SATA HDD and you can get it in every electronic or PC store. I presume original HDD was about 200GB. What you can do now is to buy new one with more capacity.
By the way which OS do you use? I mean Win7 runs perfectly on this old piece of hardware.

  • Problem with hard disk and growing used space.

    Hi.
I'm watching Activity Monitor and I noticed a strange thing.
Well, the used space is growing without installing or doing anything. I didn't install anything since I clean-installed Lion.
I have turned on the computer just 3 minutes ago and Writed data is in 220 MB. If I wait half an hour it grows to 500 or 600 MB.
The problem is that it is doing this every time that I turn on the iMac.
    What is happening here?
    Thank you.

    Any ideas about that?

  • Problem With Target Disk Mode

Folowing upgrade of my Mini and Powerbook to Tiger I have a problem with target Disk Mode when I attempt to eject the transfer to disk following transfer of my user file. I get an error message to the effect that files are in use and the disk can not be ejected. I try force quit (finder only is running) usually to no effect. Sometimes attempting to verify disk permissions in disk utility will clear the problem and allow me to eject the disk. One time it took close to an hour attempting to eject the disk. Is there another way?
    PB   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I had this problem with external volumes like ZIP discs and also external hard drives. Sometimes it was an app used on one of the external files still being open (eg. Word for a text file) which had to be quitted first. The "trackpad" button equals the mouse button which is on the PowerBook. Repairing the target disk via disk utility might also help.
