I have a problem with the indicator for power on the side of my HP DV6-1341el. Insert the adapter's power jack on the notebook in front of the LED battery charging works, windows detects that the battery is charged, but if I use the diagnostic programs, they tell me they found that the computer is running on battery power and not AC mode.
Where is the problem?
I have also made the maneuver for the recognition by the operating system of the battery and does not seem to be there the problem.
If I use the laptop without battery in AC mode happens that led to the side of the notebook blinks twice, three times and then goes off when I put the power jack.

Go into the Device Manager. Expand the battery device, select the ACPI-Compliant Battery Control Method device, right-click it and select uninstall. After you have done that, right-click any device in the Device Manager and select scan for hardware changes. Your operating system will reinstall the ACPI-Compliant Battery Control Method device.

More than likely its a hardware issue, I have never encountered such a problem and best bet is to just go get it replaced. If you have insurance on your device apple will replace it as long as there was no water damage, if you dont have insurance they will charge $200 more or less. Hope you get it fixed

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

Hi, I have a problem with my Macbook, whenever I close the lid, it sleeps normally, but then, when I open it, it turns on for about a 1/2 second then shuts down. Then, when turning it on, I have to hold the power button, or it stays off. Please help!

My Macbook shuts down when I put it to sleep.

I would try each of these in order seeing if the problem is solved after each:
1. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM and Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC).
2. Boot into Safe Mode, then reboot normally.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
4. Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive

Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

Repair rebuilds the index for messages, but as I completely fail to understand your subject so I have nothing to go on other than the repair button does not fix your issue, what ever that is.

I have a problem with Downloads, firefox does not recongise the .doc format despite me having word 2007 loaded only a problem since a new laptop, and windows 7 professional, any ideas?

When Trying to download a word file I get this error message: " *.doc could not be opened, becasue the associated helper application does not exist change the association in your prefernces. " Have checked preferences, and IE opens up the file pointing to something wrong with firefox.

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. If you kept the same Base Station name and network name, that can confuse Keychain Access. Either change the Base Station and network name, or open Keychain Access Utility and delete any reference to your Base Station and network name. Make sure you delete from the Login and System keychains.
