I have a question about Photo Stream.
Three iPhones in a family. iPhone 1, 2, 3.
iPhone 2 & 3 share the same Apple ID together which is iPhone 3’s email account
iPhone 1 sends an invite to 2 and 3
iPhone 2 accepts and name of that user displayed on iPhone 1 user is correct
iPhone 3 accepts but name shows up as iPhone 1 user on iPhone 1’s device
A test invite was sent to iPhone 3 from another outside iPhone user and after accepting invite, name still shows up as iPhone 1 user.
I asked iPhone 1 user is he syncs iPhone 3 user to his pc and he said he does but iPhone 3 user has a separate user account on his MAC. (iPhone 2 user doesn’t sync to mac at all)
Would anyone have an idea as to why it is being displayed this way? If I missed something and it is not clear, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

My hard drive recently crashed. I have a new hard drive and am trying to organize my iphoto again. There are 1,000 photos on my iphone (photo stream) how do I get these onto my mac? My mac only has the last 30 days. Do I have to save each individual photos to the camera roll?

I have a question about photos.
I didn't see any questions related to photos so i'm posting this: If I have deleted a particular picture in iphoto, is it saved anywhere else on the macBook Pro? Because I just checked the folder "all documents" and i still see the pics I already deleted
To delete a Photo:
Put it in the iPhoto Trash, Empty it.
If you're using iPhoto 11...
Then empty the System Trash

So, I have Photo Stream turned on my iPhone, and i enabled it on my macbook on iPhoto, I see the pictures from my phone there. So does that mean I can delete the photos from my iPhone photo stream now? Or how do I permanently save the photos from iPhoto so they're not deleted?

Hi I have a question about shooting in Raw with my Canon EOS 6d.
I'm in the process of learning photography and my goal was to start shooting in raw.
I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

Hello ! i have a question about my Hard's Disc storage space. I have Mac book Pro 11" Retina with hard disk 120 GB . I want to make this update but its impossible because of no free space. And now i want to ask. Its 120 GB full space but i dont know how. It tells me lets say i have 30 GB movies but i dont have anything ! Can you help me with any way ? If I 'Buy More Storage,' can I have more pics in Photo Stream?
Right now, I have all of my pics and videos that are in my iPhoto (7000+) in my MobileMe Gallery so I can access them on my iPhone. Photo Stream says it can only store 1000 pics but If I buy more storage, will I be able to store all 7000+ pics and videos in Photo Stream?
I have also noticed my videos arn't showing up in Photo Stream so I'm assuming it only 'Streams' photos?
If Photo Stream will always stay at 1000 pics no matter how much extra space I buy, does iCloud have a Gallery feature like MobileMe has and I'm just not seeing it?
TL;DR - How do I store more than 1000 photos in iCloud/Photo Stream so I can access from my iPhone?From what I read after clicking the link to the macword article above, photo stream will only allow an iOS device to view 1000 photos. It didn't touch on photo stream after more storage space is purchased but If you remember where you got your info from, that would help out.

Excuse me for asking a question about photo printers here, but I could not find a place in the Apple Discussions form for printers.
I'm thinking about buying an Epson R1900 printer since my primary selection criteria is the quality of glossy photographs.
However, I have been told that use of the R1900 for general purposes (with a "standard" printer setting and non-photo paper) will detract from the R1900's performance when it will be used for printing photos (with photo RPM printer settings on premium photo paper or other media). But I just do not know whether this is correct. I was planning to have only one printer and expecting to use the photo printer as my "general purpose" printer (text, documents etc.).
I would appreciate receiving advice/guidance from people who know about printers and/or people having with experience with the Epson R1900.
Thanks for your help.I use my photo printer in two ways.
For high quality prints I use the manufacturers Glossy paper and their expensive archival Quality inks for excellent results. More commonly though, I change out those ink cartridges and replace them with a cheaper water soluble ink bought online and use normal A4 copy paper for printing web pages and PDF documents.
This second practice is about 60% cheaper in ink and copy paper is only about 1 cent per sheet and is satisfactory for such documents.
The disadvantage is that is does require physically replacing one set of ink cartridges for the other, also if moving from basic to quality, I also do the inkhead alignment tests and adjustments to ensure that the output for glossy photos is going to be first rate.
I find this necessary to prevent waste of good pigments, yet it still allows the printer to be used for more mundane usage of printing documents. The cost of printers is heavily discounted, as the manufacturers recoup their cost from the sale of ink. Hence one needs to have this dual usage in place to get the best of both worlds.
This advice is not specific to one model photo printer, rather it is a general approach developed after spending too much money on good ink, printing web pages. -
i need to free up storage on my iPhone 4s to do an update. I have turned off my photo stream, but when I go into Usage Settings, it says that photo stream is using 3.7gb of space. How do I get rid of this?
iCloud is not designed to "store" photos (as in long term storage). iCloud can be used to sync photos from one device to another (photo stream) and to store a backup of the camera roll. But that's pretty much it.
Camera roll is the group of all photos taken by the device (but not other photos synced to the device from another source). Your extra storage on icloud will do you no good. The recommended way of storing photos on a device is to sync them to a computer.
So, your questions..
1) You don't/can't
2) No, because of 1.
3) On a computer, deleting large groups of photos is relatively painless. not so on a device.
4) You can't access photos on iCloud because they can't be store in icloud. You can't view/access photos in a backup on icloud unless you restore a backup to a device.

I have a question about extracting pages. When I do the function, adobe saves the individual files as "<file name><space><page number>", so the files look like this "filename 1.pdf", "filename 2.pdf", "filename 3.pdf". Without too many gory details, I am using excel to concatenate some data to dynamically build a hyperlink to these extraced files. It casues me problems, however, for the space to be the the file name. Is there any way to change the default behavoir of this function to perhaps use a dash or underscore instead of a space?
No, you can't change the default naming scheme. You can do it yourself if you extract the pages using a script instead of using the built-in command.
