I have a Question which is better to design a flyer for a furniutre store

i can work with Photoshop which i know best, or Illustrator or indesign i need help please !

I would use Illustrator for the document setup.  Plenty of fire power using typography tools, color, etc.  Believe it or not, I still start with a sketch or a rough pencil comp and show those if necessary.  Once the layout has been approved, then I can move on to preparing image files ( Photoshop ) at 100% final size for "Placement" into either Illustrator or InDesign.  I like Illustrator because it is faster ( for me ) and I can create a final PDF on the fly.  I would avoid doing any type of print work all in Photoshop.  File size and manageability quickly become issues.  How many images are you planning to use in the flyer?  Have you decided on a print vendor yet?  If so, discuss the project with them and get their file requirement checklist.
And, take a look into Adobe's "Print Publishing Guide" for more info.  A very helpful resource.

    Hi, i want to buy a licence of Creative Cloud, but i have one question... Whats the best choose for a little enterprise?? And if i buy a Single Person Licence, on how many pc's can i install the suite??
    Thanks for helping

    no, that's incorrect.
    you can activate on 1 mac and 1 pc, or 2 pc's, or 2 mac's, concurrently.
    i have cc installed on 2 pcs and 1 mac.  i can only activate 2 at any one time which works well for me because my pcs are at home and my office and i use them most of the time.
    but when i travel i take my macbook so i just deactivate one or both of my pcs (uninstalling is not needed) and sign in to my macs cc app.

  • Question: Which is better and why....RMAN catalog or Flashback Recovery

    Hey All,
    Newly testing and reading up on 10g. I am on information overload and would appreciate pro's advice on which to choose and why.
    Thanks,
    d.

    Different things, not necessarily alternative. That is, RMAN catalog is normally (at least should be) on another machine, and does not contain physical backups, but only information about them : physical backups are normally stored on external devices, like tapes.
    Flashback Recovery technique is based on Flashback logs in Flash Recovery Area, which is a disk area on local machine, and so cannot be unlimited.
    Therefore, Flashback Recovery is much faster than Media Recovery, since you don't need to restore anything, but you have limits in using that : your disks size.
    On the other hand, RMAN backups are safer, being physically elsewhere.

  • FCPX-to-Compressor V4 performance question (which is better?)

    For a 15-minute movie, I go directly FILE=>SEND TO COMPRESSOR and it takes about 4-5 hours to produce a MP2 file for DVD.   That's grinding four 3GHZ processors to 100%.
    Alternatively, if I FILE=>SHARE=>MASTER FILE  it takes about 10 minutes to create the .MOV file.   If I then input this intermediate .MOV file directly into COMPRESSOR, I can create the MP2 file in about 10 minutes.
    So my question is:  If I create the intermediate .MOV file, will I lose some quality instead of going directly from FCPX to COMPRESSOR?
    Thanks for your thoughts
    -Dale

    It's theoretically a cleaner encode going directly from FCP to Compressor. Each frame is called up from FCP from the original media, processed and then encoded. The original file is processed in fully uncompressed, 32-bit float format. It's very clean but it requires the OS to basically switch back and forth between the two applications frame by frame. It's great, but it's very slow. The fact is with near lossless codecs like ProRes the difference between the two methods is not discernible without frame by frame comparison. If you've got all weekend to encode your movie you may as well go ahead and do it. Personally I like having a master file anyway, so if I ever need to make different versions in different formats, it's much easier to go just go back to the master file and re-encode from there than to have to go back to FCP to encode again. You'll probably find discussion about this going back a few years on the Final Cut Studio forum here or on the equivalent forum on Creative Cow and probably other places as well.

  • Which is better: strct or unstrct fm for docs 200 pages

    Background:
    there is discussion in my department regarding merits of working in structured vs unstructured for large docs, say over 150 - 200 pages; specifically, a new set of docs for Project X is coming through that will be worked on mainly by people Not familiar with strct fm, which means definite ramp-up time
    I've been working in strct fm for about a year however my docs are typically only about 60 pages long. I'm a proponent of working in structured fm however am not going to be on Project X
    two of the Project X team are familiar with strct fm. They are strongly recommending staying in unstructured. Their reasons include ramp up time for new writers and issues regarding working with imported table content (assigning paragraph tags to each entry, etc.)
    Would really like to hear experiences of people who use structured FM for long docs as I can only speak to ease of use in shorter-sized documents.
    Would like to hear advisability of staying in unstructured or not...Please advise.
    Thanks!

    I routinely edit structured books that are several hundred pages long (and
    set up applications for people in varying environments to do so). I have
    edited single structured files as long as 1400+ pages. I use structured
    FrameMaker for almost everything I write, even single-page letters.
    Reasons often given for use of structure include:
    1) Satisfying a requirement for XML delivery
    2) Promoting consistency across a document set and within a document
    3) Enforcing some of an organization's writing standards(such as requiring
    an introductory paragraph before a figure or prohibiting lists with a
    single item)
    4) Allowing access to various XML tools
    In addition, a properly designed structured environment simplifies many
    every day editing tasks (some of which Van has already enumerated in this
    thread). Some others are listed in
    http://www.txstruct.com/papers/FrameUsers02.productivity.pdf.
    Are the Project X writers already familiar with FrameMaker? If so, it
    shouldn't take more than about a day for them to learn how to work with
    structured documents. (Feel free to contact me off-list for information on
    a self-study course on structured editing for users with are familiar with
    the original FrameMaker user interface.)
    The other concern you mention is assigning paragraph formats to cells in
    imported tables. How are the tables created? How are they imported into
    FrameMaker? Are they dynamically updated or is the content static once they
    are inserted into the FrameMaker documents? Maintaining the formatting
    within tables should be no more difficult in structured FrameMaker than it
    is in unstructured FrameMaker. Formatting options may be specified in
    attributes rather than paragraph/table formats, but the same table
    capability is available in both user interfaces. Depending on how the
    tables are created, in fact, using XML and XSLT along with a structured
    environment may make it easier to move the data into FrameMaker.

  • I have a question: Is going to be a Software Upgrade for Siri to start understanding Spanish or is goint to be a new iphone??

    Well I was wondering that. Because I want to buy the iPhone 4S and Siri only understands English. Maybe if there is an update of the Siri software to understand Spanish I can buy it now and wait for the update. But if not I have to wait for the new iPhone.

    No problem! The important thing is that your answer is resolved, not that I get the points. Just to let you know, you may have to wait a while before Siri is supported with Spanish. It could be a few weeks, but more likely it will be a few months or even a year. So don't buy it and expect them to update it very soon. It may be a software update or it may just be a server update and it will just appear on your phone. It isn't even clear that it will be supported in Spansih at all yet. Remember, siri is still in beta and it is unclear what Apple's plans are for other languages. So just keep this in mind when you are buying.

    Sorting out my CDs.  Put one in and no response - no icons appeared on desktop, nothing showing on iTunes.  Tried to eject and absolutely no response - can't even hear any attempt to eject.  I've tried a few different things and no response or the programme I'm using jams up.  Not a huge computer buff so I need things explained really simply - only had my Macbook Pro for a year and still not completely tuned into Apple system - would have know what to do on my old Windows!

    You can use a key combination to force removable media to eject at startup. Visit Startup key combinations for Mac - Apple Support and try the options listed in the bottom row.

  • Which is better HP or Epson scanner for iMac 27"?

    HP or Epson best scanner for iMac 27"?

    Put it this way:
    I have a 6 year old Epson scanner that has sucessfully scanned 16,000+ photos, plus umpteen documents.
    If for some reason I was faced with having to buy another scanner, Epson would be first place I would look. Canon would be second (love their printers), HP would be last.
    Please don't ask me why, this is a purely subjective gut-feeling opinion!

  • Which is better OO design

    Hi,
    I have a class, lets call it MyClass.
    public class MyClass {
      private String my_data;
      public MyClass(String s) {
        my_data = s;
      public String toString() {
        return my_data;
    }Now, I have a different class that has a member variable called my_class of type MyClass. This other class implements Cloneable. So I write it like this:
      public MySecondClass clone() {
        return new MySecondClass(new MyClass(my_class.toString()));
      }It seems to me there is one other option, and that would be to have MyClass have a constructor that accepts its own type. Then MySecondClass.clone() would look like this:
      public MySecondClass clone() {
        return new MySecondClass(new MyClass(my_class));
      }Is one approach more preferable to the other? I don't want to look like an idiot and pick a bad design method.
    Thanks.

    The problem with Cloneable, as I understand it, is that there's no ironclad guarantee that the super
    class has implemented Cloneable.Yes there is; ad ultimo there's the protected clone() method in the Object class. But there's
    some fuzzy voodoo going on in that method, i.e. it checks whether or not the originating class (indirectly)
    implemented the Cloneable interface. If not it starts whining, if so, it copies the entire originating
    object by shallow copying all its members.
    The nasty thing about cloning is that there is no guarantee that an appropriate clone() method
    is available even if the class implements the Cloneable interface. It's all up to the responsibility
    and discipline of the programmer.
    The advantage of cloning is that one doesn't need to know the class an object belongs to, the
    disadvantage is that clumsy implementation.
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • Just have a question on how these community site will help for beginners on their day to day life

    Hi Frnds,
       I am new to the Tech Support field and just want to know when I face any issue on the VMware vSphere 5.1 product if I post question here how soon will I get response from the experts in community site... pls let me know this so that going forward I can post more and more questions...
    Regards,
    Pavan Kumar. S

    Hello and welcome to the communities.
    Note: Discussion successfully moved from vSphere 5.1 to Virtual Lounge
    The VMware communities are made up of volunteers, including some VMware employees. The time it takes to get a response can vary, depending on the nature of the question. It is important to remember that these communities are not the official support channel for VMware products. The people that contribute here volunteer their time and expertise, and because of this there are no guarantees. Many questions get answered immediately, so using the communities as a starting place is often a good approach.

  • Have a question involving a problem thats been bothering me for 1 yr.

    HOW do you choose what the cover picture is after you sync your photo's?
    confused?
    When you open up the photo's app to view your pictures. The different files you sync appear. How can you pick a certain photo to appear as the cover, I know it's just a small picture but I've always had problems understanding how the iphone decides to sort all of pictures out of the order I intended them to be. I want them to be in cronological order but the iphone just sorts them randomly and creates duplicates of the same photo sometimes, after syncing. Please Help Thank you!

    I have a Mac and use iPhoto for my photo storage and for importing photos from a digital camera including from my iPhone's Camera Roll.
    I create iPhoto albums for select photos in my iPhoto library, and I can select the iPhoto albums that I want transferred to my iPhone under the Photos tab for my iPhone sync preferences.
    The first photo in each album that I've selected to be transferred to my iPhone is the key photo, or the photo that appears as the cover for the album on my iPhone.
    With iPhoto, I can sort photos in an album by Date, by Keyword, by Title, by Rating, or Manually. I chose manually for photo sorting in each album that I select to be transferred to my iPhone. The manual order that I place the photos in the album in iPhoto is reflected with the album transferred to my iPhone.
    When manually managing photos on your computer by placing select photos in created folders to be transferred to your iPhone, I'm not sure how this is determined by the iTunes sync/transfer process for the folders that contain photos selected to be transferred.
    Are you able to sort photos in each folder by chronological order?
    Is the first photo in each folder on your computer the cover photo for the folder on your iPhone, or is it a random photo that is chosen?

  • Which is better, many PXI cards or fewer PXI cards with more SCXI cards?

    I have a pretty basic question.  Which is "better", using multiple PXI cards for analog inputs or a single PXI card and multiple SCXI cards?  For example, if I have say 100 channels to sample (all at the same rate), I could use 2 6225s at 80 ch each.  Or I could use 1 6220 and 4 SCXI 1100s (32 ch each).  What are the pros and cons with either approach?  Keep in mind sample rate probably isn't an issue (less than 1 kHz) but it is the same for all channels.
    Thanks.

    The pros/cons will depend on your application now and in the future.  I recommend contacting your local NI sales representative.  Synchronizing across a PXI system is easy to do via the backplane.  There are PXI/SCXI combo chassis available, you could use PXI multifunction DAQ cards and then SCC for signal conditioning for thermocouples for additional functionality later.  There are many possibilities that may be best discussed with your sales representative.

  • Hi All, which is better while creating an object

    Hi All, which is better while creating an object,
    for ex:
    public class Joe {
    public void disp() {
    System.out.println("Joe.disp");
    (1) Joe j = new Joe();
    j.disp();
    (2) new Joe().disp();
    of course, both are equal, which is better in performance perspective

    I suggest you just write code and when the assignment is done, AND you have a performance issue, only then try to improve things. The question you're asking now is likely of no relevance to the performance of you application.
    You can run your application through a profiler to see what specific part of it is consuming (too) much memory.

  • Question which really disturbs you

    Hi experts,
    I have a question which is really tempting me to ask somebody. But due to its
    silly nature I never ask anyone. anyway im posting it now.
    I'm inserting million of rows in a table which generates enormous Redo records
    which makes redo buffer to fill. At one stage( possibly 1/3'rd of redo buffer) it is transferred to redologs, i.e. even uncommited transaction also gets logged in it.
    I didn't commit any transaction untill now. My transaction never ends, i continue to insert more and more million records which makes the redolog file to fill and tends to switch the logfile. My database is in archive log mode.
    my question is,
    1. whether the uncommited transaction is written to archived logs.
    2. what will be the status of the controlfile at this point of time.
    3. If i issue rollback, will i retrieve data from undo.
    4. How is the transaction gets synchronized in database.
    please reply me
    Thanks
    SM

    Oracle will 'empty' the redo buffer to theredo log file:
    - when it has filled to 1M
    - when it is 1/2 full
    - when a commit happens
    - every 3 seconds
    - when the DBWR is called to move out dirty blocks.
    This is documented at
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/process.htm#i7261
    One of the benefits - we can minimize the time required to return from a commit request.
    Remember that a commit request is simply a confirmation that the last remaining portion of a transaction's redo has been written to the redo log file. Once the commit has returned, we know that the redo information is safely tucked away, so other processes can use the resources we had been using.
    (At the same time - we do not 'release' any resources as part of a commit. Others will come along and look whether the resources are in use, will note that we no longer need them, and will release the resources for us. So a commit can happen really fast.)
    One common myth is that the tablespace's data files are important. They are nothing more than a backup (or materialized view) of the most recent contents of the database buffer cache plus any changes in the redo log file. By calling up the backup in the data files, we can avoid recreating a block from the initial format state and applying all redo. In an extreme case (called crash recovery) we actually do use a previous known image of the database blocks and apply redo.
    Oracle will create an archive copy of a redo log after switching from the redo log and before reusing it. It does not matter whether a commit has happened.
    During a transaction, the person making a change updates the block in place. A copy of the before image of the changed parts of the block (changed parts of the row) is placed in the UNDO or ROLLBACK area. Therefore, when a commit happens, the change is already in the block.
    When a person 'A' wants to roll back, the block is rebuilt to the 'start of transaction' state. This is expensive - Oracle is built on the assumption that commits must be fast and commits happen a lot more often than rollbacks.
    If person 'B' starts a a long query (say a table scan) on the same table as person 'A' is updating, but the scan gets to the block after person 'A' has updated the block, a 'consistent read' copy of the block will be created and the rollback will be applied to tyhe block. This ensures that person 'B' will always see the block the way it looked when his query started.
    This consistent read process fails with an ORA-01555 "snapshot too old" error, if:
    - person 'A' has committed before person 'B' could rebuild the block, and
    - there is not enough rollback space to keep person 'A's undo lying around, and
    - someone else grabbed the rollback because they needed it for an update.
