Hi my daughters IPhone4 recent upgrade,A small red illuminated spot has appeared on the top menu bar????
Also when receiving calls she sounds miles away,volume low,any ideas why

If the "Red Dot" is above the menu bar, left of the earspeaker, it is a glowing sensor. This is either normal or due to a slight power surge in the iPhone. Make an appointment with Apple Genius so they can take care of the iPhone's problems under Warranty Coverage.

I suddenly noticed a rather eye catching white dot appear behind my display on my iPhone 4. I checked, and so has someone else, and were certain its not a pixel issue, but the fact that it seems to be behind the glass of the iPhone quite deep down. I can most likely get it replaced in the Apple Store, but I was just curious to know what it was, so if you know or have experienced it before, I would really appreciate that you comment below. i have left some pictures bewow as well (the red circel indicates the dot) but it's not as clear as in real life and is much worse in reality too.

A verticle red line suddenly has appeared on my monitor

I was lookiing at a video on Youtube and tried to upload it. It didn't. But, suddenly now I have a verticle red line on my monitor which i cannot get rid of. Anyone out there have an idea what could be wrong? thanks.

If the red line is still there, I would use these troublehsooting steps from the following article about troubleshooting your built in or external displays, named:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem that indicates that you have a hardware porblem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Have you tried a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

Seems to be working again, I haven't done anything though. And the "wifi" led on my laptop is off, which should mean that the interface is down.

That's the portrait orientation lock (keeps the screen from rotating to landscape mode). To turn it off, double-tap the home button, swipe the list at the bottom to the right, then tap the left-most icon (to the left of the music controls).

I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I noticed you posted this problem quite a while ago and wondered if you managed to have it fixed in an alternative way then posting here. It is too bad no one has posted a solution here. I have a similar problem and if you have had yours solved since this occurance how you accomplished it may help me with mine. I am interested to know what you have done about yours.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.
If this does not work, set it up as new device, explained here:

If still no luck, get it serviced by Apple or visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider next to your place and let them have a look at your device.

It sounds like VoiceOver is partially on. First try triple pushing the Home button. This may turn VoiceOver off. If that doesn't work going to Settings/General/Accessibility and make sure VoiceOver is Off. Note you may have to use 3 fingers on the screen to scroll.
