I have a red x through an empty battery icon near the top right of my screen.
When ever I search for a solution all the results that come up are for blackberry and I'm not sure if it means teh same thing on iOS. The icon looks like an upright battery that has been drained and there is a small red x in the lower left of the icon. I've reset my phone, respringed the springboard, and plugged and unplugged it multiple times. The phone says its charging and nothing seems wrong so far, but the icon wont go away.
I've never seen an icon like that, and there's nothing like it in the manual. Can you post a screen shot? (Press and release both buttons at the same time).
If your phone is jailbroken it might be from some other "feature".

I have a small icon at the top right of my iphone 4G right to the left of the battery percent. What is this and how do I get rid of it? It looks like a lock with a circle 3/4 of the way around it
That icon indicates your iPhone is rotation locked.
To remove it, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center. Tap the similar looking icon there to turn it off. -

When will the color of the battery icon in the top bar will become red?
What is the percentage of battery life at which the color of the battery icon in the top bar will become red? 20% or 10%?
it is not a good idea to drain you macbook all the way down to see when it turns red. if it ever does - i've never seen mine red when it's down to 10%.
if you follow some of the threads here - some people who drained their battery all the way down to 0% can't turn their macbook back on.
From Apple's website:
Standard Maintenance
For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her notebook on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month. Need a reminder? Add an event to your desktop’s iCal. When your battery no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs, you may choose to replace it. If your notebook came with a built-in battery, you should have the battery replaced only by an Apple Authorized Service Provider. -
I can't open mail, all I get is a white page with the 5 icons at the top right, the flag, folder etc. then the white pages disappears. I have rebooted, reset my iPad, still can't get mail to open. HELP anyone....tnx
Hello tomzmem,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
This situation does sound very frustrating. I know that you have tried some great troubleshooting steps already and the issue remains unresolved. Have you forced the Mail application to close and then opened it back fresh? If not, this is the next troubleshooting step I would suggest. Please let me know if the issue remains unresolved.

My son got a hold of my phone and now I have this padlock image on my phone. It does not appear to slow my phone down but I want to make sure what it is.
That is the orientation lock symbol, you can not go to landscape orientation. Tap the home button twice, swipe the task bar to the right, tap on the 'circle' icon at the left to unlock the orientation. You will then be able to view items in portrait and landscape mode.
-
The symbol in the middle of the bar is a box with an arrow in it and two small round cylinders on top.
If I right click on the bar and inspect element it returns object#SCB_Bar Then if I copy inner HTML element it gives me this info.

I just got my Ipad2 and have my email accounts set up. I have sent messages but when I go to the folder icon at the top right of the page and tap on SENT emails it makes the inbox email on the screen disappear. How do you check your sent emails? Thanks for your help.
You can send over WiFi, but it sounds as if you need to setup your Gmail account, or did you do this already?

or move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen.

My safari is locked. There is a lock icon in the top right corner with an arrow around it, but I have no clue how it got there, and don't know if that's the reason!
I figured both problems out!!

There is Red Icon at the top bar and it says I have a virus and things keep popping up saying I have a virus and need to do a scan and pay for some sort of software to complete the scan, someone told me that this is a virus in. How do I get rid of it?
This could well be the notorious Mac Defender - which is an annoying program that tricks you into thinking that your Mac is infected with a virus, when the only infection is Mac Defender itself.
When surfing the web never EVER click on a link that says "Free anti-virus scan" or "Scan now" - they are nearly always scams which will end up infecting your computer. Although Macs are resistant to viruses, they're not resistant to user stupidity.
If you Google "Mac defender" then you'll find plenty of sites with instructions on how to remove this minor nuisance. Take this as a warning that you need to be more careful in your surfing habits.
