I have a regular usb mouse and it isn't working. It sometimes clicks, but it can't make the cursor move. The red light will not turn on.

I'm running OS 10.6.8 on a MacBookPro that is fairly old.
The mouse is detected on the USB port, either one, but the red light won't light anymore so I can't use it to move the cursor. I've tried rebooting, I've tried the cammand-option.P.R thing. Still no red light.

I took both of them to work and both worked fine in a different Mac laptop. I brought home two other mice and they both work here in my home computer. That works, but I wish I knew why the first two don't work at home because the logitec mouse I bought for home has very light action and the center wheel needs only a very light touch. I really really liked it and can't find one like it to replace it with.

Like ckuan said, Apple does not unlock iPhone; your carrier does, provided that the carrier offers this service.
Unfortunately, SoftBank does not offer authorized unlocking of iPhone.
Your best option is to sell this phone and buy another iPhone from the carrier of your choice or better buy a factory unlocked iPhone so you would be able to use it with any compatible GSM carrier around the world.

You will need to have the hold switch replaced.

If you look at the top left of your screen you will either see a 3G (or 4G if you have AT&T) or you will see the wi-fi symbol. If you don't see the wi-fi symbol you are connecting to Gmail through your cellular data plan, not via wi-fi.
To answer your question, it doesn't happen often but when it does the steps I mentioned above will normally resolve it. Hopefully you won't have any further problem with this.

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. In order to use your Apple ID to create an iCloud account, the primary email address associated with the ID must first be verified. USB mouse and keyboard don't work on HP Pavilion g7 2203sd, Windows 8.1.

It is not possible to use a USB mouse or keyboard on the HP Pavilion g7 2203sd notebook running Windows 8.1.
A wireless mouse used to work (already some time ago), but now wired or wireless mouse and keyboard don't work any more.
I have tried removing USB devices in the Windows Device Manager and let Windows detect them again, but it does not work.
I read somewhere that it might have to do with the xHCI USB controller that is installed.
I tried removing that and connecting the USB mouse but no succes.
I also looked for driver updates or something to disbale in the BIOS (like xHCI), but nothing found for that.
Can anybody help me with this problem.

I have a new iPhone 5 and tethering isn't working; laptop says it can't access gateway

The personal hotspot braodcasts it's name and the laptop connects to the iphone and give internet access for about 30 seconds then suddenly it can't connect to the gateway (according to the diagnostics on my laptop [a toshiba running win 7]). It seems to come and go, but never long enough to get a webpage loaded or connect to my exchange server. I've reset the phone and restarted the laptop to no avail. Any thoughts?

Having done a lot of reading today and having found a very good online tablet magazine (will post link tomorrow) there seems to be a few tech bods onto the problem.
The magazine I was reading identified wifi problems within hours of the ios 6 release and have been analysing since then with almost daily updates - the story seems to be:
The apple authenthication transmission is normal, it should slip through event prior to a full handshake with the host network being completed - however if not authenthicated then apple will not permit the device to connect (kills the connection) this is designed to protect apple from counterfeiting. So thats problem 1 if you dont receive a token from apple.
Problem 2 is that ios 6 only supports ipv6 (the new ip protocol) whereas outside silicon valley a large proportion of routers modems etc are still ipv4 protocol.
So youre locked into ipv6 in a world where ipv4 devices are everywhere and apple have not allowed for the ability to handle both protocols. This is like GM telling you your car requires an upgrade, everything will improve etc and as part of the upgrade fits a fuel cell motor and stays silent when their upgraded vehicles are simply parked up because they cannot get fuel.
A very basic expectation would have been dual protocol handling - we know the HW supports ipv4 as all wad fine on ios5.
So its going to be hit and miss with networks - more hit than miss in techy areas like silicon valley, but more miss in places like where I am - a small town in rural Switzerland.
Only apple can fix this with a patch to enable ipv4 protocol handling.
There you go. you just need to buy a new router, I'm sure Apple has one for sale, cause it's not there fault for sure.

I updated to the latest Firefox but now can't make a payment via the PC Tools site. They've given me alternative paths to their checkout but I cannot complete transaction. They have suggested there may be a setting I need change to allow this. Help?

I am trying to renew my PC Tools Spyware and Antivirus license but when I go to their site and enter all the relevant information I cannot get past the final "Pay Now" button. The button changes colour to show it has recognised my 'click' but does not take me any further. I have conferred with their Customer Service and they have tried very hard to give alternative routes to this final transaction stage but to no avail. The last suggestion was that there may be a setting I have to change within Firefox. Anybody help please?

My daughter dropped her ipad (on the carpet with a case)and the screen went blank. It will not turn off with force-off nor does the apple icon appear.

Ipad was dropped onto carpeting and the screen just went blank. It will not show turn off slide, nor will it display the apple icon. Pusing both home and on/off button together also does nothing. The screen barely displays any light when the home button is pushed. I am able to sync it but the screen is not displaying anything.

A few iPad users have been successful in "reviving" an iPad after a drop. Turn the iPad over and give it a HARD SLAP in the back. May take several slaps.
