I have a Satellite A215 error 03-EEEE-0000

My computer will not allow me to do a full system recovery. I have did every step on this thread.
The first time I followed the steps it wouldnt read the images. Next time I tried it thinking I did something wrong I am getting:
Access is Denied.
When I got to erasing the temp folder the next time its saying access is denied into c:\temp\preinst8
Please help!

Hi! The reason for the recovery discs is so you can replace the HD and restore your OS on to the new HD. The recovery hidden partition is on your fried HD and is not a option any longer. That's the reason for the recovery discs.I suggest you read your user guide and learn how to restore back to factory settings.http://support.toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=1731559&isFromTOCLink=false
PS I think it starts on page 57
PS I learned this from Jerry; so blame him.
I Love my Satellite L775D-S7222 Laptop. Some days you're the windshield, Some days you're the bug. The Computer world is crazy. If you have answers to computer problems, pass them forward.

When following the instructions to hold down "C" while turning on power, this is supposed to initiate the factory restore process.  Instead, windows loads files and takes me to a screen with two options one is the Toshiba recovery wizard.  When this is selected I get "ERROR has occurred 03-EEEE-0000"  Whats up with this?
Have tried this procedure 10X with the same result.
    PLEASE HELP
    thx

  • Error 03-EEEE-0000 AND error fc040003

    Hi
I have windows vista home edition 32 bit  I call to toshiba soport tell me that is a software problem some body can help me happen     to me exact same problem.
error 03-EEEE-0000 on my toshiba A215-s7444 after trying to do a back to factory setting of my HHD from the recovery discs that came with the laptop.  I done what you guys say is the fix, that is getting to the command prompt, putting \zzimages from both discs into c:\temp, then doing the tosimage thing.  I get this:
    WIM File: c:\temp\preinst.swm1(0)
    Dst File:  c:\temp\preinst*.swm
    App Name:  TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard
    Open WIM file failed!
    .\TixRestore.cpp(52):  Error FC040003

I spent a few hours reading all these threads and banging my head against a wall getting the error below.
Double check that your swm files are actually in c:\temp and not c:\temp\zzimages
Sounds dumb but I messed up my xcopy and couldn't figure it out for the world. Hopefully someday this will help someone like me.

  • Error: 03-EEEE-0000

My laptop has crashed will not load even in safe mode. I decided to do a full system restore to out of box condition. Unfortunately when I load the CD I get the following error: :
    Error: 03-EEEE-0000
If I need a new recovery disk where do I get one.I haven't found any info on this websites about this type of error....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Here they are. Thanks for the help! I was reciving the workaround error because the copying wasn't working correctly. these instructions should succesfully work around the 03-eeee-0000 error.
    1. Boot the Recovery disc or HDD image and select System Recovery Options.
    2. Follow the prompts (click next) until you get to the menu and then select the command prompt.
    3. Type the following commands exactly as I type them you MUST in order for anything else to work.
first change to the C: drive by typing
    c:
then make our temp directory by typing
    md c:\temp
if it says there is a file or directory with that name already (which there should NOT be) simply type
    erase temp
(if it is a directory [or file without an extention] it will be gone. if it is a file with an extention you will need the extention as well, to find it type
    dir
this will display the contents of the C: drive you will see the file somewhere like temp.exe or temp.doc or something like that. then simply use the erase command with the file's extention.)
    4. Copy the \zzimages\zzimages directory for all recovery discs to a temporary directory on the hard drive (c:\temp).
    5. to do so use the following command exactly as I have typed it.
    xcopy D:\zzimages\zzimages c:\temp
If it asks you to overwrite anything, you've done something wrong, tell it yes (because it won't let you do anything else) and start over.
    6. insert the second disc and use the same command.
    xcopy D:\zzimages\zzimages c:\temp
     7. YOU MUST remember to Reinsert disc one Change to the Bin directory To do this type:
    D:
this will change to the disk and then type
    chdir D:\BIN
     8.  Now run the command
    tosimagex /apply c:\temp\preinst.swm 1 c:\ /ref c:\temp\preinst*.swm
    9. After is completes retart your computer, if it says "operating system not found" re-run the disc, go back to recovery options, and run start-up repair. This should suceffully reubuild your operating system.

  • A215-S7422 03-EEEE-0000 recovery error

Had to install a new HDD. Purchased recovery disks. Followed the "tosimagex" procedure that seem to work - 100%.
When tosimagex ends - what is the next step I should do? The new HDD has only one partition with the "temp" folder on it.

I had a bad HDD. I installed new one. I started the recovery process booting from Disk 1 of 2 .
I was able to to get to the screen that asks if you want to use "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" - clicked on next and got the following error 03-EEEE-0000.  I found out that this error seems to be common and one of the solutions was to
Select System recovery options (instead of Recovery Wizard)
    Select "US English"
    Select Command Prompt and then
Copy the \zzimages\zzimages directory for all recovery discs to a temp directory on the hard drive (c:\temp).
Change to the Bin directory on the first recovery disc and run
    "tosimagex /apply c:\temp\preinst.swm 1 c:\ /ref c:\temp\preinst*.swm" without the quotes.
tosimagex seem to work - processed 10 preinst files
I can boot up from a different Vista recovery CD and look at the C drive - it contains "windows, users, program files, etc"
But I never went thru the normal recovery process - no formatting of the HDD was done.
Since the normal recovery process will not run - I need to format and create partitions and boot area on the new HDD before I run the above tosimagex process.
Any ideas on how to do this?  I can't run a cloning process since the original HDD is unreadable.
    thank you

  • Satellite A215-S5849

I have a Satellite laptop and was trying to reinstall OS image and found from this similar message i am not the first to encounter this. What does it mean? Is there a work around? Please advise. I am hoping that someone can help me out on this. I have a Satellite A215-S5849 laptop and everytime I go to restore the drive to it's factory settings using the Toshiba recovery wizard I get the following error: ERROR: 03-EEEE-0000, AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED, PRESS [OK] TO TURN OFF COMPUTER. My laptop model and error message are recorded as seen, any help would be appericated.

Did you try the solution given in one of the forum threads?
    1. Boot the Recovery disc or HDD image and select System Recovery Options.
    2. Follow the prompts until you get to the menu and then select a command prompt.
    3. Copy the \zzimages\zzimages directory for all recovery discs to a temp directory on the hard drive (c:\temp).
    4. Change to the Bin directory on the first recovery disc and run "tosimagex /apply c:\temp\preinst.swm 1 c:\ /ref c:\temp\preinst*.swm" without the quotes.
That is it.  It will take a long time to copy the files since they are large and a long time to run the image program, half an hour on my computer.  Also, based on Imagex syntax, it looks like the "1" in the command above might be replaced with another number for models that come with more then one Windows version on the same recovery media.

  • Re: Satellite A215-S7444 just shuts down after one hour of usage

    I have a satellite A215-S7444.
My problem is that while i'm on the computer after about an hour or so the computer just shuts down.
I have already tried changing the power manegment settings which worked for awhile but my laptop still turns off after awhile.

    Hi Patrick
Im quite sure that your notebook shuts down automatically due to the high temperature inside the notebook.
Its a simply overheating issue which could be caused by clogged cooling grilles.
From time to time its advisable to clean the ventilators. Mostly the dust prevents the cooling modules from properly working and therefore the temperature increases.
I made good experience with the compressed air spray. Such sprays can be purchased from many computer/notebook dealers.
Additionally you could try to google for some online offers too.
    Bye

  • Crazy Vista on Satellite A215-S7437 - How to restore it?

    Hi,
    I really need help.
I have a Satellite A215-S7437 and the windows Vista is crazy.
I want to restore the laptop with the recovery partition.
I haved read that if i want to boot with this hidden recovery partition i need to press the 0 zero key when i turn it on.
But it dosen't work in any way.
IS THERE OTHER WAY TO BOOT FROM THIS PARTITION....?
    help, help me.

Just to let you know this notebook does not have a hidden partition
In order for you to run the recovery process you need the recovery DVDs that came with this notebook
If you dont have them you will porobably need to contact Toshiba support in the US to order the recovery disks because this is US made notebook
Sorry about that inconvenice but that is the issue
here is the web site for that specific notebook

  • Cannot connect to college network after installing Vista business on Satellite A215

I have a Satellite A215-S4757, which i brought with me to college, I was told that the college's server has a problem running on vista home, which is what I had, currently the wireless is down, so after installing business and connecting the ethernet cable my notebook does not pickup any of several networks available, wireless or otherwsie

What to say you can also access the network using Vista.
But please note that the Vista OS supports additional network access security settings which must be either disabled or reset.
This How to website released by Microsoft should help you to configure the network settings with Vista:
    http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/networking.mspx
    Here several hints:
You should try to Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clicking Diagnose and repair.
The Vista supports additional firewall options. Please disable it while trying to connect to the server.

  • BIOS Flash on Satellite A215

I have a Satellite A215-S7444 that originally came with Vista 32 bit, I have since done a custom install of Se7en 64 bit. There is an issue of when coming put of sleep mode that the audio device disappears. OK, so there is a Bios update for my model that is supposed to correct this issue.
If I remember correctly in the forums someone had posted "not to boot from within windows or u could completely bork your system." I have dl. The Bios update and created a "bootable" CD per the instructions using windows disc image burner but that is as far as I have gone.
So I would like some someone to post step by step instructions for me on how to SUCCESSFULLY flash my Bios. As far I know u have to hit F12 during bootup, then select the "boot" tab, then select Boot from disc." Then u have to select "Save and Exit with changes" or something along those lines. And then reboot. Is this correct or am I missing a step? I know that there is only ONE shot at this so I want to get it correct. Has anyone else successfully flashed the Bios?
Thanx in advance for all usefull information.

First off thanx for the replies. And yes I know that the Bios update must be specific to my model but near as I can tell it is: Satellite A215-S7444, Model # PSAFGU-02L002. And the link to the dl. page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1852729& rpn=PSAFGU&modelFilter=A215-S7444&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663
So I should be good to go eh? But I am still reluctant, I have never flashed a Bios before. I wish that someone who has actually done it successfully would post, because I know that if anything goes wrong my laptop will be scrap...lol. So I just hit F12 at startup and click on the Boot tab and select "Boot from CD", then restart? I don't have to "Save changes" then exit? Hmmm....
    Awaiting confirmation and thenx again.

  • Satellite A215 "03-EEEE-0000" Error

    Hey
I know there are many threads about this but none of them seem to give a definate answer.
I want to recover from the supplied disks to the factory default; Vista Home Premium x86. I insert the disk, set the boot device to DVD/CD drive in BIOS, select TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard and I get the infamous 03-EEEE-0000 error.
I upgraded my RAM after purchase but while trying to troubleshoot this error I reverted the original RAM. Still getting error. No other changes were made to original system.
Thanks for the help in advance.
    Tamusz

  • Satellite A215-S4747 non matching processors error

I have a Toshiba A215-S4747, it has problems booting but after many attempts it boots, beeps twice and displays the following errors:
    Warning - Non-matching processors - CPUs UP/DP/MP capability mismatch
WARNING - System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used
ERROR 0280 - Previous boot incomplete default configuration used
I always press F1 to resume and sometimes i load the default BIOS settings but when i switch it off its back to square one, it wont boot until several attempts or sometimes it wont at all.
Can some one give me an idea of what may be wrong

    Satellite A215-S4747
If this behavior repeats after powering off your machine it sounds like your BIOS battery may have failed or is no longer taking a charge for whatever reason.  One thing to try is power off your machine, unplug it from your AC power adapter, take the battery out, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the battery back in, plug it back into the AC and try to reboot.
You can see what BIOS version you are using when you are in the BIOS Setup. The latest version from Toshiba is v2.30. On a successful reboot, while Windows is running in a stable manner and plugged in to your AC, you could try to flash update your BIOS and see if it helps.
ACPI Flash BIOS version 2.30 for Satellite A210/A215
Please let us know if either of these suggestions help.  Good luck.

  • Error: 03-EEEE-00000

I have tried solutions given in several of the forum threads with no success.
I have a A215-S7416 with Vista Basic.  I can get to the prompt command, X:\sources\recovery\Tools>. I have tried the steps in the thread below with no success.  I do have a X drive partition on my HD.  I am also able to change drive by using the following command c,d, or e:,\bin.  Can also change with this command c,d or e:,\temp, but nothing after that.
    Re: Satellite A215 "03-EEEE-0000" Error
     05-18-2009 09:42 AM
    Step-by-step:
    1) Copy files from recovery disks to c:\temp
    2) Boot from Recovery Disk 1
    3) Select Command Prompt
    Location prompt shows: x:\sources\recovery\Tools
    4) Try to switch to Bin in following places
    * x:\sources\recovery\Tools\Bin
    * x:\sources\recovery\Bin
    * x:\sources\Bin
    * x:\Bin
All give same error message; "The system cannot find the path"

Never solved.  The laptop still works, i just can't wipe the hard drive and set it back to factory settings.  I was thinking about replacing my hard drive and installing Linux.
You would think with so many people having the same problem there would be a solution posted somewhere, this is the first and last Toshiba i will ever own.

  • Vista services hanging on Satellite A215-S4767

    Satellite A215-S4767 Vista Ultimate w SP1. 4Gb Memory
Strange problems starting to happen over the weekend.
Apps fail to load in taskbar; printer drivers, antivirus apps, etc. Did a boot with rescue CD and cleared out some malware but trouble persists.
Also Vista SP update failed to install three times and finally gave up on it. This was a couple of days prior so I don't think its related.
Unable to connect to any network wireless or landline. Seems to hang when I try to run "Network and sharing center". Many services fail to start.
Cannot run many control panel apps. For example eventviewer, diskmanager, services. They seem to hang. Once that happens I cannot close the administrative app.
Most of the apps that start automatically are not. Printer driver, antivirus app,
Disk mgmt never displays the drives; stays at connecting to virtual disk service
Cannot run system restore; seems to hang. When I try to run it again it says it is already running but I can't see anything.
Everything seems to function in Safe mode.
    Any help.

    hi telhack,
to me it sounds like a corrupted os.
install or recover the system again.
if many apps and services are not loaded there is a serious problem...
check your hdd for errors first!
check memory! deinstall the half of it for installation!
btw: you cant upgrade to win7 with a damaged system!
hope you made your recovery disks before...
if you have spyware deleted this can also cause your system to hang - in my point of view your only solution is to reinstall....
