I have a second gen ipod nano; The screen doesnt work but it will still make the clicking noises and it is recognised in itunes? why wont the screen work?
HELP
It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other.

My 4th gen classic makes a continuous whirring and clicking noise and is not recognised on iTunes. Any ideas?
That could be a clear sign of a damaged hard disk. Can you try and force the iPod into Disk Mode and then connect it to iTunes so you can attempt a restore or even a low level reformat of the iPod's HD/file system.

trying to get music from an old 2nd gen nano to my curent itunes library but the nano is registered to another computer which i no longer have??? any way to get the music without losing it all?
From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod. -
Hi, I have a 7th gen ipod nano and am having a problem with deleting songs. I can select the track in my ipod's library but right clicking does not bring up the option to delet. I have downloaded the latest update for the ipod but this has not solved the issue. Can anyone suggest a remedy? thanks
Hello Lor100,
In order to delete or add individual songs from and to your iPod, you'll need to enable 'manual mode' on the device. This will allow you to add and remove exactly the content you desire.

i have a 5th gen ipod nano that freezes when playing songs. i can't skip, turn down volume, turn ipod off. it simply screeches as the song is stuck at a specific point. any suggestions?
You have 2 options: #1 - iPod Repair Tutorials
#2 - take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you. -
I have a 4th Gen Ipod Nano. It connects to itunes and everything fine when pluggein in to usb, but as soon as i unplug it, it just goes black and does nothing at all. Tried reset, restore, nothing seems to work. I am thinking maybe the battery is gone but not sure how to tell. Any ideas or help? Thank you....
Ok think I have it. Seems that it doesn't really like my pc or Win7 or something, but rebooted, resync and all seems well. Charging as it should. Maybe just OS or something.

I have a 6th gen iPod Nano, how do I create a podcast playlist?
Hi,
I have a 6th gen iPod Nano, I would like my ipod to play all unplayed podcasts continously. For instance, once I have played all of the Nerdist podcasts, it automatically starts playing all unplayed Radio Lab podcasts I have loaded.
How do I set this? Can I create a podcast playlist?
Thank you for your help!

Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device -
Hi all - any idea how to download songs from an old AOL iTunes account - have updated to Apple ID which is fine for new songs but didn't realise this wouldn't include the old songs. Have a 1st gen ipod with the original purchases on if that helps
....... is there a way for me to get my old music library (which was controlled by my dad's apple ID) onto my new mac, but from that point on, start using my own apple ID for purchases?........
Yes, once the content is in iTunes on your computer, just click it to play and authorise your computer to play it by entering your Dad's ID and password.
Log into your own account and start purchasing your own content which will then be added to the existing content. -

I can't load pictures to online site... IPhoto works but not aperture3. I have edited photos that I exported to an external drive but they will still not load to Walgreens for printing. Does anyone know what I can do?
Are you shooting RAW? Are you exporting masters or versions? Is there a size limitation on the Walgreens site?

I need help
Thanks for a reply
The cable that I'm using came with my 5th gen nano. The 6th gen Ipod shows that it's connected but the computer doesn't see it, so I don't think that it's the cable.
I did try this before when looking at the troubleshooting guide and nothing happens. It just resets and then the Ipod screen tells me that it's connected to the computer. It still is unseen by Itunes and no where to be found in my computer.
I don't have another computer to plug it into at the moment but I may be able to visit a friend that owns a decent PC in a few days. If that doesn't work out I will be getting a new lap top in a week and I'm hoping that it will work on that, but it won't be a Mac. So, let's say it works when I plug it into one of these computers, should I reset my Ipod from there or is there something else I should do? -
I have a 6th Gen ipod nano. Is there a compatability problem with Windows 8.1?
My 6th gen ipod nano is not being recognised in itunes. I have tried all the suggestions in the itunes troubleshooting section without success. I am running Windows 8.1 , is there a chance of an incompatability problem here?
I have tried all the suggestions in the itunes troubleshooting section without success.
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Second Gen Ipod Nano on Vista, not syncing
My Ipod still works and I can play I Tunes just fine on my computer. However, it absolutely refuses to work with me. Can anyone help me, please? I knew Vista was a bad idea.
Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
• Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
• Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
• Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
• Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

Photos not showing in iTunes on second gen iPod nano
How does one go about deleting photos from an iPod nano? I have a mini myself, so when I offered to set up my sister's nano I was a bit suprised to find that under "Carrie's iPod" in iTunes there was no section for "photos" underneath the music selection. They are showing up as yellow space on the bar at the bottom. But I don't see how to manage and remove photos.
I hope there's nothing wrong with this thing right out of the box - she'll kill me.Click on the fourth tab labeled "Photos" that shows
on your graphic. Notice that it says "Summary" on the
first tab (which is the main screen showing with the
silver iPod on it), then "music", then "podcasts",
and then "photos". If you are wanting to delete them
all then you would click the appropriate option under
than tab. If you are only wanting to remove certain
photos then you would need to do so by removing the
photo(s) from the folder that iTunes is syncing
photos from.
Wait.. how do you get pictures on your iPod in the first place?
