I have a stuck pixel

I have researched how to get rid of a stuck pixel and tried different things but nothing seems to have worked has anybody else got this problem or had this problem and have a solution? Thanks.

On my original iPhone 4 I had 5 stuck pixels, all showing green.
After booking an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar (Regent Street) I was hit by a car on the way so I arrived three minutes late to get a replacement before going to hospital, and was told I now wouldn't be served due to being 3 minutes late (I frequently wait 45 minutes or more beyond my appointment time to be served, even though I always arrive early).
I went to my local o2 store where they had just received a batch of 32GBs in and got a replacement hand set from them instead... and now I see this replacement handset has stuck pixels too! One very obvious in the middle of the screen and 2/3 more around the edges that for some reason look smaller (I'm not sure if the centre one is 2 pixels side by side or what).
Is it worth going back to O2 again? Or is this something that just ***** on the iPhone 4 retina display and I have to put up with it?
Not too happy with Apple right now! (For the first time ever, though)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply.
You could go back to Verizon, though it's highly likely they might send it away for repair. If you go into an Apple Retail Store instead they tend to do everything on the spot.
Not entirely sure with Verizon's options (Im in Australia) but can only give it a try

  • I have a stuck pixel on my ipod touch..Can i send it to apple?

Hi,my ipod touch has a green stuck pixel in the middle of the screen and its very annoying...Is this under warranty? Can i send it to apple and the can give me a new one?And if i can how can i contact them?THANKS!!@

Well, if it's that annoying to you, I'd go to the nearest apple store, but before you do, you should make reservation to see the genius there. I'm sure they will help you. Just show them where the stuck pixel(s) are.
But honestly, though I don't want to be a downer here, but even if you get it replaced, the possibility that you might get more stuck pixels when you get a new one. But of course, you can also be lucky that you can get a perfect one too. Usually stuck pixels should fix it self (not all the time tho).

  • IPhone 5 stuck pixels

i have 3 stuck pixels on my screen. Can i use my warranty for this?
what is the policy of Apple about the stuck pixels?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
I had my iphone in my pocket yesterday when I was in the workshop at college. I was in a car and my leg got wedged by the steering wheel, the leg with the iphone in the pocket. Checking it after, the phone was fine and is protected by a leather case. Later on, I was in my car using my phone to play music. I noticed a little cluster of greyish pixels. Thought not much of it, as it's a second hand iphone and is out of warranty, but this morning, (after my partner threw my phone across the room onto the bed), there are now lines travelling a long the screen from this small cluster.
I'm not sure whether they're dead or not. I would rather have apple look at it, but I want to know how expensive it is to get a screen repair, or whether it worth paying for a whole recondition phone.
Not having luck the past two months with phones. If I get a new one, it'll be my third.

  • Stuck Pixel!! Need Suggestions

I've purchased my iMac (white) about a month ago and it has been PERFECT until yesterday. I was photoshopping with some red and then i discovered 2 stuck pixels about 3 inches away from the center of the screen. I tried to live with it for a couple days but they stick out like a sore thumb. It doesnt display any shades of red or white (turns bright green). I've done some research about LCD and its common for a screen to have dead/stuck pixels especially for a 24 incher. I've tried all the tricks i could find on the web and no luck. Should I give Apple tech support a call? or bring it to an apple store for an evaluation? I use this machine for a lot of photoshop and video editing. Will they still have the old white iMac screen replacement in stock? Should I take the chance of going through another LCD? Thanks in advance.
    Nathan C.

I have the same problem--I purchased my white 20" iMac in August and just the other day I noticed a stuck sub-pixel fixed on red. It could have been there since I bought it, but I just never noticed. I've tried massaging it. I've tried Pixel Fix. Since it's only 1 sub-pixel, I'm not bringing it in. I understand that nothing is perfect. From what I understand, Apple considers stuck or dead pixels to be normal, up to a point. But like you, I do wonder--if I ever have to have my screen replaced, will Apple replace it with the same model screen, or will it put on of the cheap inferior aluminum iMac LCD panels in it? I certainly hope Apple has stockpiled spare parts for the white iMacs.

  • Stuck Pixel Help

Heyo everyone! I have some stuck pixels on my iPod Touch 4g which I have had for almost 2 years. Currently I am playing videos that strain out multiple colors to try and, reactivate the pixels. My question is, does anyone have some better techniques for the pixels? The video is working but at a slow pace.

Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?
    Otherwise I have not suggestions

  • IPT and Stuck Pixel Issue?

Well I do have a week 39, tho I don't have any problems with it, but the fact that the stuck pixel can be quite annoying, not that it's a big stuck pixel, but it's rather a tiny one but on few places. But is it worth going back and exchanging for a new one or just keep the one I have? Even when PSP came out, most psp did have dead/stuck pixels but I've heard some say that with the black LCD's, it's not the manufacturer's fault for creating a dead/stuck pixel, that it is just there when they make them (I may be wrong but that's what I heard) Due to the fact that even if you exchange for a new one that the new one COULD have more stuck pixels than the previous one, so is it still worth going back and exchanging for a new one? What would I say to them? Will they give me a new one because of a stuck pixel? I did ask them that if any problem occurs that they will exchange for a new one within a month, and I suppose I heard them say that if somethings wrong with the screen that it's 2 week (probably about dead/stuck pixels). I want to know your opinions on what I should do. Though it is my decision, I've read other threads that people exchange theirs because they have a stuck pixel.

Yea I went yesterday, but for some reason they couldn't see the stuck pixels, and I showed the location of the stuck pixels and still they could not find any. Which is surprising because the store was filled with bright light. When at home, I can see the stuck pixels. They told me to take a close shot of the stuck pixels with a camera (this is very ridiculous to me) and to bring it back and show them. So I did.
Now, they are out of stock and won't receive their next shipment in 2 weeks. Well looks like I'll have to wait 2 weeks without my touch. I did not return it, but waiting for an exchange. Since I got mine on Monday the 8th, I have a bit over 1 week left before the 14 days are over, however, they told me that if I want to exchange I have to leave my touch with them since they were out of stock, and this way the 14 day thing will stop here. I find this ridiculous, I'm not sure about U.S but I live in Korea, they said they won't get there next shipment till 2 weeks, while I'm sure that U.S gets their new shipment the next day, but due to the supply and demand, i'm sure even in U.S they are out of stock (I may be wrong on this, but the supply is at scarce and the demand is high as of now).
Now when I went there today, They only had 1 80 GB Ipod Classic left, and there were tons of Ipod Nano 3rd Gen. They were out of Touch.
So they told me to give me my name and my contact so that when their next shipment arrives that they will contact me first thing when the next shipment arrives and they will reserve it for me. And that they will give me the screen protector for Free and that they will apply them on the screen, which is nice and makes me as a costumer happy.
Now I do know the fact that even if I get a new touch, there is still a possibility that I could get another with stuck pixels, and if that happens, I guess I'll have to live with it.
I'm not sure if I should take my laptop with me so that I can load up my music there on the spot and find any stuck pixels, but i'm sure the genious won't be too happy with me if I did that.
I'm sorry for this long story, but that it is ridiculous how they don't get their next shipment in 2 weeks. Now I have no touch with me, but just a box, my nano (2nd gen) is broken and nothing I can do. Looks like I'd have to wait. For those who read this, I'm sorry for this long writing but it's my story after I had to go back to the store twice.
BTW. I'm sure most likely that I will get a week 40+ IPT. So if anybody who does have a week 40+, I want some feedbacks if they encountered any problems. I'm sure it won't but who knows.

I don't know about steve---but I've owned 8 iPhones (5 for me and 3 for my wife) starting with the 3G and ending with my current iPhone 5 and none of them had a display problem of any kind.
Several of my family members also have iPhones--about 10 more, I'd guess, and none of them have a stuck pixel, either.
If I had received a display with a stuck pixel I would have definitely returned it immediately.

  • Anyone have a problem returning one with stuck pixels?

I have about 5 stuck pixels on mine. I am deciding if I should bring it back or not. Has anyone returned it for that reason? Did you have a problem?

hello. I am also affected by the stuck pixel issue. I have about 3 that really stand out. At first, I was very frustrated with this and I was going to take it back. After a while, I realized that, unless they are smack dab in the middle of your screen, they aren't there if you don't pay attention to them. If your screen doesn't have the negative black effect, then you shouldn't return it. Plus, Apple has a pixel policy, although I don't know it. You may have a problem if the Genius doesn't see them.

  • Have I got dead / stuck pixels,   or . .  ?

Searching here for "dead or stuck pixels" gave me a little info, but no real match for my new situation.
Suddenly I've got 2 "bits of dust" towards the lower right corner of my 24" display. They're different sizes ( the smaller close to a pin-head ) and the slightly larger one is a much darker shade of grey.
Reading one of my search-result threads, I learned that a screen-shot doesn't capture them because it's not "coming from the video-card" & is therefore more likely a "problem" within the display.
They look like pieces of grit , is it even possible for a foreign particle to "ride in on a CD" and end up visible within the display ?
I'm sure that's doubtful, but I don't know much beyond what they "look like".
    Oy !

sorry for the double-posting, but part of the original keeps getting left out ( quite strange )
    The missing 2nd "paragraph" is : >

let's see if this works ( can I delete one of these two ? )

  • Dead or stuck pixel

    Hello,
I'm new to the forum here having recently converted. I've done a search or 2 on this issue but found nothing of note. I have one dead pixel(well its green or white sometimes) in the middle of the screen and its very annoying. I've read through all the support pages and found the usual pixel anomalies page explaing all about it.
But It only mentions LCD's. There's no mention of LED screen, so would I be right in saying that there is no material specifying the restrictions of this and it would be considered a fault?

    Vermelho88 wrote:
But what I mean is, they have no policy for LED screens stated yet so therefore its just plain faulty, as in "not as described" so wouldn't they have to replace it straight away?
It's still an LCD display. The Al MacBook displays use LED (as opposed to fluorescent) backlighting. A dead/stuck pixel is still an LCD malfunction. One dead pixel is considered normal. If it weren't the cost to the manufacturer would be considerably more in terms of rejected parts and warranty returns.

  • T510 Random Stuck Pixels?

I received my T510 FHD Thinkpad about a month ago and over the last few days it started to display random stuck pixels (always on - white).  I say random because they eventually go away when I open and close windows or reboot the computer.  Mysteriously reappearing later at random (not in the same spots if I recall correctly)???
After doing some internet research, I ran JScreenFix (http://www.jscreenfix.com/) for about an hour on full screen.  The problem persists.
My son suggested this could be a driver issue (supported by the fact that the pixel becomes "unstuck" when shutting down Windows XP and doesn't appear until Windows finishes booting up).  I am using the most recent Nvidia drivers so I'm hoping this is not isolated.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Update
This is apparently an issue exclusive to Windows XP.  I used a separate HD and installed Windows 7 - no temporarily stuck pixels.
Have to assume this is a driver issue.  Hopefully, Lenovo/Nvidia will release a fix soon.
Any other ideas/fixes would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • I'm a student, non-earning, how can I get rid of this stuck pixel?

I recently saved up for a Macbook Pro 13" (2010) for my graphic design college course and I cared for it as soon as it came. It suddently got a red Stuck pixel near the centre on the right. I'm really upset because I have only had it for about 3 weeks. I was going to use it to design and create on, but this red pixel keeps distracting me.
I have tried JScreenfix a few times, left it on for about an hour, still was there. I feel bad leaving the screen on for so long anyway, considered leaving it on all night, but don't want to if it won't work. I have also touched it a few times, but that feels bad.
Any suggestions? I've booked an appointment with the Apple Store near me..

Hi you have an excellent computer - leaving it on all night will not harm it. If you follow the instructions in the link below the battery should give you years of service:

  • Stuck Pixels + Dust

I have had my iPod for 4 months now and have had 2 stuck pixels since i got it, they have only just started annoing me as i have now started watching movies.
Added to this i have quite a large amount of dust behind the screen mainly in the top left corner, there are also one or two coloured particles whitch i am unable to identify, they are the size of 4 pixels and still appear wjen the screen is off, clearly the seal is broken or somthing along those lines as i have allways kept my iPod in an Apple iPod sock from the day I got it. I feel rather dissapointed by theese factors as the Multi-Touch display is the main feature of the iPod touch. I would like advice on where to go next... Should i visit an Apple Retail store os Send it in Online? I would also like to know if a refund is a possibility because as old phone has now ceased to function, i would like to get the iPhone... Would this be possible and how could i do this.
    Thanks for Your Help Phil.

    Phil,
There isn't much you can do about returning it or trading it. Apple gives you the 30 day grace period after purchase to return for a full refund and clearly 4 months is beyond this period. My suggestion would be to take it in, have it replaced (as it is still under warranty), then try and resell it on CraigsList or eBay.

  • Qosmio G25: Vertical lines of stuck pixels

I have a huge problem with my Toshiba Qosmio G25:
My LCD screen has 2 lines of stuck pixels, one pixel wide, running from top to bottom. Before continuing I would like to stress that my computer has not had any physical trauma of any kind and generally is used like a desktop.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there any quick fix which I can handle on my own or is the only solution sending in the laptop for service? How are problems like this handled, will toshiba replace the screen or will they completely replace the computer? I would much rather prefer fixing this on my own with your suggestions as opposed to a lengthy wait on service.
All my schoolwork depends on my computer and I would be powerless without it for several weeks. Please if anyone has encountered this issue and resolved it, I would appreciate it if they could share their experience and knowledge.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello Makaroni
It is not easy to say if this occurs because of LCD malfunction or even because of defective graphic card. You can check how it works with external monitor to see if the problem persists.
Anyway I dont believe you can do anything on your own especially if the graphic card or LCD display is defective. The hardware must be replaced. I know that it is very annoying but I recommend you to contact service in your country. Save all your data to USB memory stick and try to finish your work on some friends PC.
