I have just bought a super slim usb 2.0 disc drive but I can't get it to work on my macbook air and now a dvd is stuck in it! Any ideas?

2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
      your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
        /usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.

Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc.

Stick the 10.5 or 10.6 install disk into the computer and reboot holding c key down, under the Utilities menu is a password reset.
If your on 10.7, hold command r keys and reboot, access Terminal and type
resetpassword
and press enter.

I have a redirect virus/malware that I can't get rid of - Stopzilla ID MalPac.D - any suggestions

I have picked up either a virus or some malware that frequently redirects my browser to intermediate sites. Stopzilla calls it MalPac.D but repeated attempts to remove it with Stopzilla have failed. I tried to update my antivirus (Bitdefender) but every time I try to download it I get a message that the installer files are corrupt and the install fails. I installed a different antivirus product that also found some viruses and removed them but the redirect is still there.
I can go into tools>options>advanced>settings>advanced and find that there is a manual proxy server selected. If I just click on "No Proxy" the proxy setting will reset itself. If I just click on "No Proxy" and delete the info for the proxy server I can then do searches without redirects.
Any idea how I can find and get rid of the redirect virus/malware?

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History). You could also try turning on Block Pop-Ups on the same Settings page.
Also close Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
You could also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have downloaded Fiefox 7 for my laptop running Windows 7. Now i cannot get any sound from web content. ( I can still get sound using Google Chrome !!) Any ideas ?

I downloaded Firefox 7 and now cannot get any sound when playing web content. I have reinstalled but still no joy. When I use Google Chrome for the same useage, it plays sound fine.

IPhoto some of my photos have gotten very small. I don't know how this happened and I can't get them back to normal size. Any ideas?

I do not know how or when this happened and don't know if I did something to cause it. I have upgraded computers several times. Currently have a 2011 model 27" iMac with 10.7.4. Actually your suggestion is for Enabling the Accessibility Option to use the Keyboard for Mouse functions. Not to enable the use of a USB Mouse.
Please do some research on the topic before posting misinformation.

Try to perform a HARD RESET on the printer first. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and leave it out for 30 seconds. Plug it back in, see if it aligns and finishes the job.
After alignment, try to print a test page from the printer or make a copy. This job is to make sure that the HARDWARE of the printer is working correctly.

I have partitioned my time capsule, as I want part of it to act as a media server for both mac and windows. However I don't know what format that I need to partition it to. I also can't make it a permanently accesible drive. I want to restore the drive to the original format (which I don't know) and start again and re-partition the drive in a format that can be used for media by both mac and PC and for time machine back-ups and make the media part of it permanetly accesible so I can add and acccess my files.

You are mixing up a couple of things here.
The TC drive cannot be partitioned without removing it.. did you do that?
If you partition it you must use a Mac disk utility and use the HFS+ ie standard Mac format. And GUID partition table not windows type.
You can select erase disk in the airport utility.. that will take the disk back to original format. No partitions. TC is deliberately not partitioned as it is not a media server.. it is a backup device for TM. Over time .. the disk will be filled with TM backups so you have a long history of file changes to your computer.
There is no media server in the TC.. it is merely disk storage.. you can serve files from it to a media device.. but the TC itself is dumb as dumb.
Now the actual format of the drive is irrelevant to the PC.. The TC offers SMB file services to the network. You can copy files to and from the TC as if it was a local disk without caring one iota about the format. The TC handles that .. it is not a local disk .. it is a network drive.
Although you cannot partition the TC. you can still copy files to it.. this does have implications for TM.. but as long as there is plenty of free space should not be a major issue.
You can create a disk image via the disk utility in a Mac.. and as stated you can create partitions if you do it on a Mac with the disk directly connected which means breaking warranty if any exists on the TC.

I upgraded my 2007 iMac (20") to Maverick. Should never have done this! Lost mail, lost my mail archive, lost numerous programs/applications, lost all my installed hardware, spend 4 days on getting it running again with the (supreme) help of Apple Care. However it should not have happened at all!
iMac Computers with less than 4Gb of internal memory (as explained by Apple Care), or less than (estimated) 150Gb of free disc-space should not upgrade! Simple as that and the App Store should warn you about that and not simply let you pick up your free copy of Maverick!

I have an HP C310 ePrint printer and can't get AirPrint to work

If I try to print a photo from my 4.2 updated iPhone, it either looks like it truly printed OR I get an "offline" message.
I'm pretty unhappy since I bought this printer a month ago in preparation for AirPrint.
The printer says right on the front - ePrint. It's connected wirelessly to the other inhouse Windows 7 systems and I can print fine from them.
...and yes, my iPhone is on the SAME wireless network as the printer.
I also verified that the HP C310 is running the most currently software.
Am I missing something here? Isn't this supposed to just "work"?

I'm just going to chime in here as well. I agree it sounds like it is your router. That being said, we can do a couple of things to verify its not the printer.
1) Make sure you have Internet connectivity to your Printer. Open up one of the Apps on your printer an make sure the content loads.
2) Make sure you have the latest Firmware. While the C310 does support AirPrint out of the box, there have been Firmware updates since it shipped to make sure everything works correctly. After doing step 1, go to:
Tools->Web->Automatic Updates->Check for Product Updates.
If it says your product is up to date, you can print out the test page and post your FW version here. I'll check and make sure you have the latest version.
3) Sometimes simply restarting everything (router, Printer, iOS devices) will clear up any problems you have.
Again, based on the fact your iOS device is seeing the Printer, but print jobs are timing out, it sound like something is blocking the submission of the job to the device.
