I have a T shaped magsafe plug, is it still recalled?
I bought my 15inch Macbook pro sometime in 2009, the Magsafe connection is frayed and really bad, the wire is exposed and the rubber shows signs of burning, the rubber, actually melted off of it. so i bought a new plug about a year ago. well i just found the old one and was wondering if it was recalled because i want to send it back.

I have an L-shaped magsafe 85w adapted I bought roughly a year ago from Best Buy. I might be able to find the receipt and box, but let's assume not. The cord no longer works correctly. In particular, I must fidget with the part where the cord meets the L piece to get my macbook to charge. There is no other visible damage. Usually pushing the cord up into the L piece works fine until the cord gets touched. I'm not currently local to an Apple Store, so I want to be sure if I go to one I can get it replaced. Can someone provide an explanation (please be clear about what documentation will or will not be necessary) as to whether or not a Genius Bar appointment will be of use? Thank you.

No one here can give you any kind of guarantee about what Apple will/will not do if you visit a "genius" bar. If the cost of gas and your time is even half of what it would cost to get to an Apple Store, I would just buy a new adapter for now, and then sometime when you are going to be in the area of an Apple Store see what they will do for you. Receipts are always good, as would be a call to AppleCare and getting a case number for the call. Good luck to you. -
The magsafe plug has 4 pins which seem to be on springs. The two middle pins are now stuck in and will not pop up again. Hence the macbook pro cannot be charged.
has anyone else come across this fault?Other people have reported the problem. Are you interested in fixing the problem, or just taking a poll?

How can I get a pdf. to open in Safari, all i'm getting is a new window with a black, blank page, instead of the pdf., and I don't want to save the file to the desktop, Safari didn't use to do that, and I don't have Adobe in the internet plug in folder.

How do I get the iPad to work again after I have erased data (intentionally) and do not have my base computer to plug into to access itunes?
If you have iOS 5 installed on it, you don't need a PC. simply turn it on and set it up.
if you don't have iOS 5 then you'll need a computer. -
Can't get any sound when I open one webpage in Firefox but sound works in Internet Explorer. sound files are .wmv and mp3 format.
I have Windows Media Player Firefox Plug in installed and set to always activiate. Also have Quicktime & Shockwave activated. Any suggestions. Operating system is Windows 7. ThanksThere are a couple issues here that might be the culprit. One is that the player is hidden using a variety of techniques and Firefox often suppresses hidden content because it can be annoying not to be able to control your experience with media. Another possible issue is that the embed tag doesn't specify a content type. Firefox appears to be guessing anyway, and in my case asking whether to activate the QuickTime plugin, but then nothing plays.
To test what would happen if both of those were addressed, you can run this script using Firefox's Web Console. It grabs the address of the media and creates a new embed that is visible and specifies the content type. Here's how to use it:

My mac is the OS X 10.8.3. I tried to update the latest Adobe flash player and kept getting 'Actionlist not found.' I have uninstalled, enabled and disabled plug-ins and am still unable to download the update and now have no flashplayer at all. Help!
PS I'm still new to Macs so the more broken down the better.Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.42 is the most recent version from Adobe. It is a pre-release version. I am using it without any noticeable problems.
The current stable version is Download 11.7.700.169. -
I recently purchased a Canon 7D. I own Adobe Photoshop/Bridge CS5. I cannot open my raw images in Bridge. I have tried to download the plug in but does not seem to work. Please Help, I need to be able to open my raw images in Bridge ASAP. I do not want to upgrade to CS6 at this time.
If you had given us sensible information, I could look it up for you if your efforts fail.
Right now, I don't even know if you are on a Mac or on a Windows box.

Just got a new IPAD3, straight out of the box, but I cant charge it, I have tried with the power plug and cable out of the box that came with it but no joy, i have tried resetting the iPad but still no joy, have tried different mains plug sockets around the house with no joy, I have tried different USB mains plugs but again no joy, I tried using my new iPad cable into the USB port of my MacBook Pro laptop but still no joy, then, I tried using my old iPod classic cable into my MacBook Pro and that worked, so I have a way of charging my new iPad3 but its not practical as i have to take my MacBook Pro everywhere if I want to charge it which kind of defeats the object of having an iPad, has anybody experienced anything similar and how was it fixed? can anybody help me please...

Please note it did say at the store's discretion, but people have actually been able to return it to the on-line store. (I only saw a couple who tried.)
And given the outcry, I would think Apple might have other Apple stores join in. Just in case, though, if you can, you might bring it in today.
If it's an ARS, my guess is they can stick to their 14 day return. Apple cannot force them to do it. SO if it's not bought directly from Apple, and it's past the 14 day deal, I'd bring it in to the store today if you have one. When I gave people the cnet.com site, I gave it so people could read it and know only Apple had made the decision for Apple. And I suggested to some that an Apple reseller would probably stick with their own return policy.
Because Arnie had just bought his, he should be able to return it to Apple or an ARS because an ARS has to have some kind of full refund or at least return for credit within 7 or 14 days of purchase.

Open a Finder window. *Select your MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left*. Now open the Library folder, then the ScriptingAdditions folder, the InputManagers folder, and the ApplicationSupport folder.
Move these files to the Trash:
ctscripting.osax/Contents/MacOS/ctscripting
CTLoader/ctloader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ctloader
Conduit/Plugins/cttoolbar.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ct_plugins
Relaunch Safari.

Time Machine shows a backup this morning at 11:58 but I didn't have the external hard drive plugged in. How is this possible?
Because the drive was disconnected Time Machine made a local snapshot on your Mac.

I have an ipad 3, when I plug my charger in the ipad comes up with the sign to say it is charging and then the apple sign loads up as if the ipad is about to come on,but then the ipad just goes dead again,I've tried holding both buttons down and I have also tried charging it over night but still nothing is working.
I hope someone could help:)When you say you tried holding both buttons, did you mean you held both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appeared, ignoring the red slider if that appears? If so, exactly what happens?
You may need to take the iPad and charger to an Apple store genius bar to be tested by the techicians. -
DPS Issue: You do not have a compatible Digital Publishing Plug-in.
Issue: I have recently upgraded to inDesign 5.5 specifically to use the new DPS tools. I've download the DP tools (v.1.0) that you are directed to online as well as version 1.1.3 of the folio builder panel.
Still, I recieve the following error: You do not have a compatible Digital Publishing Plug-in.
I've tried deleting my Indesign preference files, in addition to performing the keyboard-shortcut to reset your inDesign prefs on app launch.
Specific details are as follows:
Mac OS Lion (10.7.1)
InDesign 7.5.1
DP tools v.1.0
Folio Panel Builder v.1.1.3
Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

I have an iPhone 4 and plugged it into itunes on my computer for the first time. Only to discover my sister has obviously plugged hers into my itunes account and now I have lost all my photos and numbers. Please help me!!
It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it.
