    Hi Patrick,
    You have subscribed for this service yesterday, uaually it would take 24 hrs to get this service activated. I can see that your service is now up and running.
    Kindly check the below mentioned article on how to get started with ExportPDF:

    I have a Word file in square format. Converting it to PDF wipes the format and produces a document in portrait format.

    Create a Custom Page Size with the same dimensions as your document within a new Joboptions file and then use that new Joboptions file when you convert your square document to PDF.

  • How do I save data in a numbers spreadsheet? I am trying to convert from Excel and can't find the save button!

    I am new to Imac and numbers and am currently working on my first spreadsheet but must be thick as I cannot find the save icon!

    As you are no longer in M…oSoft world, you have to change your habits.
    In AppleLand, there is no Save icon/button.
    We have menu items or/and shortcuts.
    If you imported an Excel document in Numbers under Lion, you may use :
    File > Save…
    or
    File > Export…
    or
    Share > Export…
    These three commands allow you to export as an Excel file.
    If you want to save as a Numbers one, only
    File > Save… will apply.
    It would be useful to download and read
    Numbers User Guide
    and
    iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide.

  • SQLException while trying to retrieve data from text file DB

    This was originally posted in the Java Fundamentals forum,
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=733857&tstart=10
    thought I might have a better chance of getting help here.
    I'm just beginning to learn JDBC stuff. I have a text file acting as my DB. So far I've been able to add rows to the table, but when I try and retrieve something from the table I get the following exception.
    java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'.  It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.That '(unknown)' bit seems suspicious, but I don't how I would correct it. My file is set up similar to the sun tutorial I'm going through, and it doesn't specifiy the file name anywhere but the SQL statement.
    All the permissions seem to be correct from what I can tell. The file isn't opened or in use anywhere else that I can see.
    I've tried googling parts of the error message, but most of the reponses are dealing with MS Access or aren't java related and so far I haven't found anything helpful.
    Below is my sample code.

                   stmt.execute(query);
              } catch(SQLException excptn) {
                   System.out.println("***** SQLException - Connection Failed");
                   excptn.printStackTrace();
         public static void retrieveNamesFromDB() {
              try {
                   establishDBConnection();
                   Statement stmt = con.createStatement();

                   ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(courseQuery);
                   while (rs.next()) {
                        String courseName = rs.getString("FIRST_NAME");

              } catch(SQLException excptn) {
                   System.out.println("***** SQLException - Connection Failed");
                   excptn.printStackTrace();
    }Of course you won't be able to run it unless you take the time to create a text file and set it up as a data source, which I don't expect anyone to do. I was just hoping someone more experienced than I had seen this before or could spot something in my code.
    Any help in any way would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    When you were setting up your ODBC data source for
    the Text driver, did you click on the "Options"
    button? There's a lot of options in there that I
    didn't understand at first glance.Yes I clicked on the options button, but the only thing there is dealing with file extensions. I left it set to the default.
    I have since tried closing my connection after I insert a record, I then try executeQuery, but still no luck. Seems strange that I can write to the file but not read from it. If any thing I'd expect the opposite problem.
    I have also tried using the class "JoltReport" from the sun tutorial instead of my own with the same result.

    I am trying to generate a delimited text file output with delimited_hdr = no.The report is a Group above report with summary columns at the bottom.In the text file the headers are not getting repeated & thats ok.The problem is the summary data is getting repeated for each row of data.Is there a way where i will get all the data & summary data will get displayed only once.I have to import the delimited text file in excel spreadsheet.

    Sorry there were a typos :
    When I used desformat=DELIMITEDDATA with desttype=FILE, I get error "unknown printer driver DELIMITEDDATA". When you look for help, DELIMITED is not even listed as one of the values for DESTFORMAT. But if you scroll down and look for DELIMITER it says , this works only in conjuction with DESTFORMAT=DELIMITED !!!!!!??!! This is in 9i.
    Has this thing worked for anybody ? Can anyone please tell if they were able to suppress the sumary columns or the parent columns of a master-detail data for that matter ?

  • Loading a text file

    I have a text file which is just 1 line
    Nick, Price, Mr, 29/12/83, 64 Borrat Way, 07776243523, 001, M00184769I am trying to split this line, and each of the splits going into their own variable e.g. Nick goes into String firstName. I have done
                   try {
                        System.out.println("Please enter the name of the student file" );
                        String fileName = input.next();
                        in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(fileName+".txt"));
                        studentBorrower = in.readLine();
                        StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(studentBorrower, ",");   // "," is the separator
                        String firstName = st.nextToken();
                        String lastName = st.nextToken();
                        String title = st.nextToken();
                        String dateOfBirth = st.nextToken();
                        String homeAddress = st.nextToken();
                        String phoneNumber = st.nextToken();

    I believe the problem is the initial space in " 001". Are you sure you need to treat barcode as a int? It will treat 001 and 01 and 1 all as the number one, for example.

  • Using a text file to provide paths for copy-item

    OK, please don't beat me over the head too much for this.  I've been trying various methods all day and nothing seems to be working.  I have a text file that has a list of folders (full paths including drive letters).  I want to copy all of
    the folders and their contents to another path.  The destination path does not change (d:\temp\destination) but each of the folders in the text file should end up being subfolders of the destination
    Sources:
    d:\source1 (has file01.txt, file02.txt)
    d:\source2 (has file03.txt, file04.txt)
    Destination
    d:\temp\destination
    Should end up with something like
    d:\temp\destination\source1\file01.txt
    d:\temp\destination\source1\file02.txt
    d:\temp\destination\source2\file03.txt
    d:\temp\destination\source2\file04.txt
    I've tried
    Copy-Item -Path D:\Temp\paths.txt -Destination D:\Temp\attachments -recurse -Force
    which just copies the file that contains my paths.
    I've tried
    foreach($line in (Get-Content -Path D:\Temp\paths.txt)){$dest_folder="D:\Temp\destination" | Copy-Item -path $line -destination $dest_folder -force -recurse}
    I get an error that says
    Copy-Item : The input object cannot be bound to any parameters for the command either because the command does not take
     pipeline input or the input and its properties do not match any of the parameters that take pipeline input.
    Would anyone mind helping me out here?  If I need to create a file that has the source foldername as well as the destination path, I can do that, I just figured there has to be a way to specify a base directory and let powershell do its thing from there.

    try
    $SourcesFile = ".\sources.txt"
    $Root = "d:\temp\destination"
    foreach ($Source in (Get-Content -Path $SourcesFile)) {
    $Destination = Join-Path -Path $Root -ChildPath (Split-Path -Path $Source -Leaf)
    Copy-Item -Path $Source -Destination $Destination -Recurse -Force

  • Deleting data from text files

    Hi there,
    I am having a real battle trying to delete data from a text file I am using. There seems to be this giant cloud with Java, where there is no real easy way to delete text from a file??
    I have a JFrame with two textfields on it where you enter the username and pcname. There is a OK button once you have entered those details.
    On action event I would like those two details, to be removed from the text file that has been read in.
    I have a text file like this:
    bob
    pc1
    bill
    pc2
    The data above gets written no problem, one at at a time using the below.
    File f = new File("\\c:\\filename.txt");
    String strToWrite;
    try
    FileOutputStream fstr = new FileOutputStream(f);
    strToWrite = username1+ '\r'+'\n' ;
    byte[] bytes = strToWrite.getBytes(); fstr.write(bytes);
    strToWrite = pcname1 + '\r'+'\n' ;
    byte[] bytes2 = strToWrite.getBytes(); fstr.write(bytes2);
    strToWrite = username2+ '\r' +'\n' ;
    byte[] bytes3 = strToWrite.getBytes(); fstr.write(bytes3);
    strToWrite = pcname2 + '\r'+'\n' ;
    byte[] bytes4 = strToWrite.getBytes(); fstr.write(bytes4);
    catch (IOException e)
    System.out.println("Error -- " + e.toString());
    To read them back in I have made the follwoing:
    BufferedReader br= null;
    Count = 0;
    try
    br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("\\c:\\filename.txt")));
    String s = "";
    while((s=br.readLine()) != null )
    Count = 1;
         //System.out.println("Data is " + s);
         inboundtext = s;
         if ( Count == 1 )
    break;
    while((s=br.readLine()) != null )
    //System.out.println("Data is " + s);
    inboundtext = s;
    Count = 2;
    if ( Count == 2 )
    break;
    catch(IOException ie)
    finally
    try
         if(br!=null) br.close();
    catch(Exception e)
    Now the above I know, is reading each line of the text file one at a time.
    Now what I would like is that when the text that we got from the textfields, using getText(), be removed from the file without destroying the rest of the records in there? Why is it so easy to add and replace files, but not do any deleting from them?
    please help!!

    sorry, FileOutputStream fstr = new FileOutputStream(f);
    should be FileOutputStream fstr = new FileOutputStream(f, true);

  • Formatting the text file

    hi folks,
    I have an text file with records, each record has several field values  and there is blank space between them, I need to remove the blank spaces, is there a way that i can do with all records at one stretch? Instead doing it for each record.
    I know it is not related to SAP but I need some help in this regard as there are  a lot of records and formatting each record manually is extremely painful. This is a corrected  file manually on a spreadsheet and converted into the text file from thereon.
    Any help is really appreicated.
    Thanks,
    SK

    Hi,
    What you are trying to do with the text file after removing the spaces?
    Are you going to use in SAp Upload? or just to remove the spaces in text fiel?
    If you are using it for other purposes, you should not remove the spaces, because for that particular field no data will be entered.
    (generally we remove the other chars's like " by Find and Replace method)
    Generally we format the text files from the Excel to utilise it somewhere?
    And we won't remove the spaces for surther uses.

  • Exporting Playlist as text file

    Hi i want to Export my Playlist as text file listing, and send to a friend by email.
    In other words i want to send a list of all my albums in itunes in list form. (not all the songs)
    This should be simple enough, but i have wasted hours trying to do it.
    Hope you can help.
    DUAL 1ghz / 300GB / 1.75 GB DDR SDram   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Hi there,
    I'm confused. You want to export each Playlist as a text file? Or you want to export each individual album in your iTunes library as a separate text file?
    For the former - converting a Playlist into a text file - you could do the following. If there is a faster more streamlined way, I don't know it.
    1. While viewing your playlist in iTunes, make sure only the columns you want in your text file are showing. (Remove columns by right-clicking on the header bar.)
    2. Select all songs (Command-A) then right-click and select "Copy."
    3. Open Notepad or, even better, Excel or some other spreadsheet software and Paste. The information is tab-delimited, so if you put it into a spreadsheet it automatically puts each item of information in its own column.
    You could also just select all the songs in your library, sorted by album, then Copy and Paste into a spreadsheet. Then you could sort the spreadsheet according to album name or whatever and get rid of columns (song name, genre, etc) as you see fit. And, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, I'm sure there's some third-party software that will convert your playlists to text or spreadsheets or whatever. Hope this helps...

  • Returning strings of the same name in a text file from an array

    Hi,
    Another quick question. I have a text file with lines consisting of one integer, and four strings. Currently, I am able to search through this file and find any of the variables listed within. However, if any of the variables are listed more than once, and I search for that particular varable name, it only prints out the first line containing that particular variable name.
    Basically, how do I modify the following code so that the search method returns all the instances of a particular variable name in the text file?
    My current code is as follows,
    1. Search method,
    public Title lookUpDirector(String requiredDetails) {
            boolean found = false;
            int next = 0;
            while (!found && (next<TitleCount))
                if ( TitleArray[next].getDirector().equals(requiredDetails))
                    found = true;
                else next++;
            if (found) return TitleArray[next];
            else return null;
        }2. Test main class
    import simplejava.*;
    public class SearchTitleDirector
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            String titleDetails;
            SimpleReader keyboard = new SimpleReader();
            SimpleWriter screen = new SimpleWriter();
            SimpleReader inFile = new SimpleReader("title_test.txt");
            TitleList title = new TitleList(inFile);
            TitleList[] sortedArray = new TitleList[]{title};
            titleDetails=keyboard.readLine("Director?");
            Title search = title.lookUpDirector(titleDetails);
            if (search == null)
                screen.println("Not found");
            else screen.println(search);
    }Any help or advice appreciated!

    Thanks for the reply and advice.
    I have tried implementing the lookUpDirector method as follows,
    public TitleList lookUpDirector(String requiredDetails) {
            boolean found = false;
            int next = 0;
            TitleList list = new TitleList();
                while (!found && next<titleCount) {
                    if ( titleArray[next].getDirector().equals(requiredDetails)) {
                        list.add(titleArray[next]);
                        next++;
              if (found) return list;
              else return null;
            }When I use this method with the previous test main class, it compiles and runs, but after the user inputs the name of the director to search for, the input window freezes indefinitely and no result is achieved. The output pane in NetBeans is as follows,
    init:
    deps-jar:
    compile-single:
    run-single:
    Director?The only way to stop the process is to terminate it in the Runtime section of NetBeans.
    I have no idea why this is happening. Any advice?

    I use the j2ssh tool and can get access via my Java code, but I couldn't find how can I read the file. I can download the file from the remote server
    to my local computer, but I only want to read it line by line exactly the way I read local files.
    Thanks!
