I have a Toshiba laptop, Vista OS, 56K dial-up modem. Firefox 29 (BETA) works fine for me. With a dial-up i don't do movies, music, games, etc.
I found BETA under Mozilla's Products. Firefox 28 wouldn't work for this machine, but I am 'talking' to you now using Firefox 29.

Thanks for posting this serves as a useful reminder for those on older Systems that Firefox should be kept updated, it should improve, and it will be safer.
But I see know reason why the ordinary release does not work. They have the same system requirements.

Sometimes a clean reinstall solves issues. We also know an awful lot of people have problems because they do not install official versions of Firefox.
Not many of you will be using 56k dialups. I suppose click to play features help you, and possibly you use script or add blockers to try to reduce the amount of unwanted material eating away at the bandwidth. I don't think my Telecom even supports 56k dialups any longer.

Personally I would encourage any reasonably competent computer user to try the Beta channel of Firefox.
* It always has a safe and fully supported downgrade path: the Release that nearly everyone else uses.
* You get new features & fixes earlier.
* It is a pre release so you are actually testing out Firefox. That helps many others, especially if you report any problems you do run across.
* If we had a lot more people willing to do this we would probably find nearly all the annoying, and costly issues that cause Firefox Releases to require point releases (Chemspills) to fix problems that were not spotted.
* Beta will occasionally have problems, but it has already been tested in the Nightly and Aurora channels. It could possibly be classified more as Release Candidate than a Beta Test.
It certainly is not difficult to install Beta. It is fairly easy to downgrade if required. It can not however be recommended to novices or occasional computer users.

Hi..I have an AirPort Extreme base connected to my DSL Modem and has been working fine. But I recently bought another DSL modem along with the latest Airport Express. With this one however I can't get it to connect to the Internet. The light on the Express is flashing green though. Does it mean I have to re-set the settings on Airport Utility? I.e. the old settings haven't been cleared yet. Any suggestions?

You have an Airport Extreme base station that is set to "Create a wireless network" and you have the box checked for "allow this network to be extended"....
Then you have an Airport Express that is set to "Extend a wireless network" which you selected the name of your network in the box...

I do not know why the notebook stopped recognizing the external mouse.
I just found out that if I restart the notebook and plug in the mouse it will work flawless for a few minutes, but then something recognizes it and it stops working. I am really fed up with Mac. It is always something. Safari quits unexpectedly everyother day and asks me to repert the problem, which never goes through. Safari's beachball also spins uncontrolably for hours until I press the button to force quit. It never allows me to collaborate my email with MAIL, and anytime I want to send an email it goes to an email that claims no valid password when that is clearly not the problem. I am a proud purchaser of 3 Iphones, Ipad, Ipod nano, and a macbook pro, but I am getting sick to my stomach with this nonsense. I have wasted a whole day! When I asked a question last time it asked for money! Itunes has taken back hundreds of dollars worth of songs that I have purchased, and summoned me for more money in order for me to keep them! I can't get anything done with this mac! Where is the customer support!? Counter productive, and I will be voicing my opinion loudly.

Yes, the question was poster from my desktop machine which is set to dual boot both windows 7 and Xp. I regularly run spybot scans but I'll try all the others you mentioned.

I have a Toshiba laptop currently on windows 7 and i was wondering can i upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8)? Because i saw it was only 20 in the mac store if i can actually upgrade to it then i would buy it but if its only mac compatable why the heck would i buy it. i am very mad at microsoft right now and i am tired of thewindows operating system's.
lol i would LOVE to get one but i dont have the money. I think if apple made a osx lion for non mac computers they would make a LOT more customers but charged like 100-300 dollors since you wouldnt have to buy a mac

Got new ATV and all set up. It keeps loosing connection with iTunes on laptop and have tried everything suggested in set up guide. It works fine for a while then the iTunes account vanishes from 'computer' menu TV screen. Full Wifi signal on both devices so can't think what could be causing it to happen. Any suggestions please?
Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.

My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.
Can someone please help ?I am having all sorts of problems with 9.1.1.Crashes and not only iTunes but I have to restart all the time.

Most of the question is in the discussion header. I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that worked fine for three weeks with my third generation iPad. I started having trouble connecting and recieved the "not supported by iPad" message. It connects just fine until I open any app that requires sound and at thet point I recieve the message and the device disconnects. The Tango still pairs flawlessly with my laptop which is not an Apple product. How could a product suddenly become unsupported?

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer. -

I loaded mozilla 6 on my hp laptop and it was working fine for a few weeks, but now it will not launch at all wheather I clip on the icon or type in the site. there is no message or warning, it just does not start up. I am a long time firefox user.

Same here.... No fix. Replacing is the option apparently and if you're out of warranty, you're SOL. That was as per the "Genius" at Apple.
