I have a Touchsmart 610-1280qd when it goes to sleep at night it powers off and has to be replugged

It goes to sleep at night the blue light on the side goes from blue to amber. In the morning the amber light is out, move the mouse, key on the keyboard, nothing. Push the power button, nothing.
Unplug the computer from the surge protector and plug it in the same spot, nothing. Plug it into another recepticle in the surge protector, it powers up.
I have plugged it straight into the wall, same symptoms, unplug it, plug it back in the wall, nothing. Plug it into the surge protector, it powers up.
This is very consistent, unplugging and plugging into the same recepticle will do nothing, plug it in elsewhere, up she comes.
Been a REALLY sweet computer except for this one flaw and it is bizzare. I have had this computer since February and this started about 2 months ago.
BTW, when I change the power plan to have the screen go to sleep but the processor stay on, it does stay on overnight which I suppose is not surprising. My power setting is balanced with the monitor going off in 10 minutes and the computer going to sleep in 20 minutes.

After reading through your post a few times, then looking around the forums (HP's and others) I suspect that it could be a power brick issue. It sounds intermitent so perhaps this is one solution if you have not explored it already. Seems like others have had the same expereince and the fix was to replace the brick. I hope if you rediscover this post your issue is already resolved but if not, try that.

so I have called HP tech support 12 times over the last 6 weeks and still my HP Officejet 4620 loses connection overnight. Of course becasue it was a birthday present I spent more time than I normally would have on this issue. While the tech are very polite they have not fixed my problem and now it is too late to return printer to store. Here are the original factory specs for your HP TouchSmart 610-1100uk Desktop Computer. Based on the specs, I don't see a reference to this model supporting LightScribe. Additionally, there isn't a driver or software for LightScribe listed on the HP TouchSmart 610-1100uk Desktop PC Drivers page. While this isn't proof positive that your model doesn't support LightScribe, it is enough to says that it most likely doesn't.

Thank you BGreg. That is what I have been doing, and then it works just fine. I think it was doing the same thing in the previous version of Lion. I may be incorrect about that. I upgraded to 10.7.3 a few weeks ago, and then last week I reloaded the combo update, hoping it would help. Not so. Thank you for letting me know it is a common problem. I have tried permissions in Disk Utilities, and in Macaroni, both at least 4 times, plus numerous restarts. Nothing Improves. It still can not find the internet when it wakes up or gets up.

yes. have you tried a general phone reset by holding the sleep/wake button and home button until the phone restarts? have you tried to reset network settings? settings, general, reset, reset network settings. if that doesn't work try this support document:

To fix the freezing when sleeping problem go to System Preferences>Energy Saver and set 'Computer Sleep' to 'Never'. It seems there is a problem for some with Bluetooth failing to wake after sleep. This fixes it 100% for me and many others on here, until Apple issue a software update to address it.
Not sure what to suggest on the internet problem. I assume you are connected and receive and send emails OK.
Edit: To try to troubleshoot the internet issue maybe try turning the Firewall off: System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Firewall tab.

Okay -- it fixed itself. Without any intervention, after all else had failed, and I was willing to live evermore with vertical searches. If only everything else in my house mysteriously recovered from the broken state.

How can I keep my iMac on the wireless network when it goes to sleep?

I have a new iMac (from Santa) and when it goes to sleep, so does its wifi connection. I use it for work and need to keep my instant messaging app open and running at all times, even when it's asleep. I also like to have all of my email waiting in the inbox when I come back to the desk.
Is there any setting (or workaround) I can do to keep it connected even when it goes to sleep? I have a MacBook Pro that keeps its connection when it goes to sleep so can't figure out what's happening. Thanks in advance!

going to sleep means disabling the network connection to save power
so what you're asking is not really possible
unless you can change what going to sleep mean on your computer
in the power saving settings you may be able to set going to sleep to just turn off your monitor
because thats pretty much the only thing that can go to sleep if you still wish to use it over wifi
